Everybody warmed to Charlie he was a beautiful person, with nothing bad to say about anybody and he backed his twin brothers up all through they’re lives and sentences if that ain’t a proper man and gentleman I don’t know the definition of what is.

He was too ‘mockney’ as Reg although it was more grounded but his Ron was just the usual spoof and oddball voice he did with Al Capone, Alfie S and nearly all the characters that come off as comedic parodies

Frank Skinner is typical of so many tv hosts who's job it is to act very silly & to avoid asking any interesting sensible questions . Charlie I sensed was very willing to communicate & share his life with an open heart . And that's what sadly , is generally accepted as ' entertainment ' . Frank's immature approach caters for an audience who don't really take anything seriously . He was way off the mark . A lost opportunity and just another guest to pass through his circus of uneducated dribble .

I worked with him in around 1973 ish. I was doing a Saturday job delivering The London Evening News around Romford. Gary was about 7 to 10 years older than me then and had a permanent job with the Evening Standard. I know people talk a lot of crap about the Krays and how they were essentially decent and only hurt their own. I don't subscribe to that but I can vouch for the fact that Gary was a very pleasent and decent guy with (as far as I could tell) not an ounce of malice in him.

Charlie Kray is a comical and cheerful geezer on the Frank Skinner show, and reminds me of Bobby Grant, On the Buses. He was made to be a danger to society because of his fearful brothers, twins Ronnie and Reggie. I couldn't imagine him to be violent, and was jailed twice, the second time for ridiculous false multi million pound drug dealing. I don't know why the public regarded him as a scumbag, like a paedophile, terrorist, psychopath etc. RIP.

From memory, I think he could have been described as not the sharpest but I reiterate, I found him very pleasent and in no way did he display any archetypal Kray attributes. I only knew him for about two years. I heard rumour that he contracted HIV and died. He used to often utter "it's all wrong". Never asked him what he meant.

I met him the night after he got out of prison, his eyes still sunken from bad prison food and lack of daylight. He was one of the most charming, intelligent, frank and generous men I have ever met. The police, lawyers and politicians that framed him should burn in hell. Even now there should be an inquiry into that miscarriage of justice and anyone responsible still alive should go to jail. He deserves to have his name cleared and so does his family.
