- Storm Daniel has devastated parts of Libya, as catastrophic flooding has killed thousands.

A city that was home to a hundred thousand people is now under water - entire neighbourhoods simply swept away.
The force of the flood waters in eastern Libya was so great, the surge burst through two dams around the city of Derna, obliterating everything in its path.
Local officials say they've been left stunned by the scale of destruction, beyond anything they can cope with alone.

I don't believe for one minute that this is a natural disaster. It seems to be too much of a coincidence that Libya were planning on helping Niger! This smacks of geoengineering the climate by the evil powers! So sad that this is becoming a war of the world by the powers that be!

The headlines still talk of this being a "flooding" event. Why so vague? This disaster was specifically caused by a double dam collapse that hit the city downstream of those dams, rather than generic flooding. Why don't the headlines say this?

They should fight a bit more among themselves and then reap the rewards. It is a very sad situation and alot of kids and families who had nothing to do with it also became victim of this civil war and political turmoil. All the neglect caused by infighting practically stopped all maintenance and further development of infrastructure to prevent floods. These dams shouldn't have collapsed if there was proper oversight and upkeep

Tragic as this flooding is and condolences to the families of the victims, I hope this brings sense to the country after years of war and bloodshed since the fall of Gadaffi, an event that the West hoped would bring peace and freedom to the country, but of course it did not. If a disaster like this can not bring people together to resolve their problems and differences, then nothing ever will.

This help WILL be given, but will tribal Islamists revise their mental, emotional and spiritual beliefs to prevent similar occurances in the future? Given that similar tribal issues are causing ongoing long term problems in South Africa, Papua New Guinea, China, Europe, Americas even the UK and Australia, it seems not.
