did you have to disconnect the power steering pipes from the pump and push them away to take off the rear valve cover? I'm in the same boat. I have a 2014 enclave and just found oil in the intake duct. Thought it's a easy job, just a PCV. However, there is no way to pull the "stubborn" PCV out, not matter the engine is hot or cold. Now, it seems that I have to remove the rear valve cover to hammer out the stupid PCV.
Drill out the pcv valve on the rear, since I did that I have not seen one drop of oil in the intake . 7/64 on top and 5/64 on both bottom holes. Might also have to change the valve cover gasket that is what GM.recommemds
No one could confirm lash adjusters would come out without unbolting the cams. If you do a timing chain, replace the lash adjusters. Lash adjusters will fail next too.
I don’t know. The design is similar to Dodge 3.7 and 4.7 rocker arms. I’ve done some without removing the cams. I wanted to do the same to an Acadia 3.6. If you point the cam lobe away, it might work. Be careful though.
hello i have a 2016 Chevy Traverse Lt AWD I'm trying to get of the back valve cover to replace gasket and PVC valve i got all the bolts out still will not lift out what. Im doing wrong any help would be appreciated ty
The spaced out ticking noise mostly heard at low idle is the high pressure fuel pump mixed in with injector clatter completely normal nothing to worry about
Great video. Just changed plugs. Compression was between 160-180 but 3 of the plugs has a lot of oil Had a misfire check engine light on cylinder 2. Changed that plug and coil. For now it seems ok- no more misfire. Do you think the oil on the plugs is from worn rings or valve issues? It has 110k on it. Thanks!.
Yo my traverse has 178,680 miles and definitely doesn’t run very well I’m sure this is my problem how would I go about cleaning it? I don’t have the time to drop the engine but pulling the valve covers and cleaning it out should be possible right?
Likely valves or rings. Next time but Lexus- trust me. Mine is 10 year old and does not burn a teaspoon of oil- ever. I bought it new- no issues ever. Just brakes, oil, tires...

Was it difficult to pull the rear cover off? I had trouble trying to work my way around all the hoses to unscrew the bolts
Did you explain how to fix it or exactly what causes that problem?

Can you elaborate more. I have same issue on mine. I’m mechanically inclined and extremely comfortable with a wrench
@@digiforceDid you fix your traverse?
Can rocker arms and lash adjusters be removed without taking off the cam shaft?
Did you ever find this out?

@@SilveradoXST nah just seeing if I
Can get away with unbolting the cam and just replace the rocker

How did the valve cover look where the pcv valve is located? Also, how did your intake valves look, were they caked with carbon?
Will it make a ticking noise if valve bad what’s that

Those spark plug wells on these leak and oil goes down the spark plug threads and misses will come.
I found the problem why is not lube

I have the same issue and I am wondering why.
Spark plug tube seals in the valve covers.
How many miles do you have on your car?
