Sheets change out twice a week .Thursday and Sunday. I wash the bedding blankets every 2 weeks.. I have kids so I like their bedding nice and clean. One thing I love is fresh clean sheets and bedding,. After a 12 or 13-hour shift at the hospital I love clean sheets.

Morning Sean 😊 I had a bit of an eye infection and my go to remedy is to boil the kettle, let it cool down a bit. Add two teaspoons of salt to a mug then add half mug of water and let it cool. Dip cotton wool balls and clean your eye with it using a fresh piece of cotton wool for each wipe. You can store it in the fridge covered. If you clean it 3 times a day you should feel a big improvement within 12/24 hours. P.s Try Skin so soft dry oil spray from Avon for the gnats, it worked a treat when I lived in Scotland and the midges would try and eat me alive😆 It smells nice too!

Hi, a nurse told over 40 years ago to put 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 pint of boiled water and clean every hour. I do exactly as you do, one wipe with the cotton wool.
Seemily if you use to much salt it can damage the eye 👍😉🇨🇮☘️Eire

I change bedding weekly, so does my eldest granddaughter, my daughter and grandson have to be nagged into changing theirs on a fortnightly basis and my younger granddaughter has to be threatened that I'll tidy her room up to get her to change her bedding!! I wouldn't mind but it's only a pair of sheets/pillowcases or a sheet/quilt cover/pillowcases, any blankets get washed along with the sheets if needed. If I had someone to do the laundry (and bedmaking) I'd change my bedding daily, love the smell of freshly laundered sheets!

Try a teabag next time you have conjunctivitis. Use the teabag then squeeze it out so there is just a little moisture in it and squeeze in the corner of the affected eye. It will be gone the next day.😊 But as others have said best not poke about with your eye.

We moan about the rain and then when the sun finally comes out we can't wait for it to go in again😂😂. Trouble is there never seems to be a nice in-between temperature. Nice to see the girls and the books were interesting. The hubby worked at Tinsley yard (railway) at Sheffield and he's got a blueprint of all the roads they use to have(tracks) they were chucking it out so he brought it home. It was nice to hear from you before Sunday you looked more relaxed despite the weather. Shame you didn't film yourself getting the desk upstairs or did you 😂. If you call in the chemist you can get some cream for your eye it's not dear but it's very good and it doesn't sting 😊

1 - eye issues are no fun. I’ve recently had conjunctivitis in addition to my retina issues. Not fun.
2 - no house is ever finished. Full stop. ;-)
3 - old books/pictures are a joy! I have about 400 jpgs I need to cut up and color/gamma adjust scanned from my mother’s photos.
4 - after my cousin decided to “leave early” years ago I failed to get a box of photos she asked me to look after. Greedy aunts took them. They were Old Country photos of our Cabresian/Romanian heritage. Who knows where they are now.
5 - I may have to get help to move the cucumber container (old plastic slop sink on legs) because they’re not getting enough rain under the eaves. It’s always something :-)
6 - I have 500 moss rose seeds to plant along the fence but bindweed is my bane.
7 - bindweed is my bane.
8 - the grey squirrel seems to no longer be interested in my raised beds but it ruined the one bad enough I’ll have to replant. I think magnets on the plastic chicken wire cover I made should stop that.
9 - my sunchokes are only 3 ft high. I’m concerned the bed they’re in isn’t deep enough but we’ll see.
10 - dud I mention bjndweed? Also I have a ton of tall brush behind the garage that has to be cut down. I’m just not sure I’m physically up to it.
I’ve had coffee this morning can you tell? 😂

Hi Sean, hope you're okay - if you still have a sore eye, I'd see if you can get some Golden Eye eye ointment. If the eye is improving it might simply be your eye got sore from the draft of your fan. We bought an Amazon Basics tall fan which we used yesterday and as I was nearest that made my eyes a bit dry and sore but improving today. Or get some Optrex might help you.
I really loved seeing those old photos I find that fascinating and those people who were in them - thank you for sharing!
Know all about the gnats - the other evening we left the doors and windows open too late to try and cool our home down and we had six mosquitos come in, it took me an hour to deal with them but as I've suffered with skin issues in the past it had to be done. Not much fun late at night but better than getting bitten! Last year we only had the old one so must be down to the weather chopping and changing ideal for them!
Like your new printer by the way good you got it set up. We have a Brother one used to connect to the WiFi but won't now so we use the cable instead not ideal but better than nothing!
Anyway, take care until next time. 🙂

I think they come up earlier down south as they get the chill they need sooner and seem to pop up as soon as the days get around 30-40 minutes longer.

I hope your eye gets better or you seek some help with it...sight is so important. Your curtains are beautiful & will brighten even the darkest days, hopefully. Your kitties seem to enjoy the garden so much...always good to see them. It always amazes me to see how people change the landscape so quickly...we had an older gentleman just up the road, when we lived on our little farm & he would tell us about how things were, before the new road on which we lived, was built. He talked about how he promised his wife he would build her a new house by the apple tree, after the new road was in. That's where he built it too...such a shame when someone later, after he passed away, bought the farm & just bulldozed that old place into the ground...instead they turned the land into pasture. I can only imagine what kind of history that man left behind & probably no one ever bothered to go through any of it.

Diolch, very interesting. I attended a lecture in the 1970s about the building of the Rhigos and Bwlch. The same photos were shown by slide projector. It was an excellent lecture. Both roads are amazing engineering. I believe there was one, maybe two deaths while building the Bwlch. They were very delayed by one section on the Rhigos that crosses Nant Ffernol just above Tynewydd. If I remember correctly, it took until 1936 to complete both roads, maybe a little later. As the construction of the roads was to give employment to so many unemployed during the depression years, I believe the connecting of the roads across the mountain tops was shelved due to the political situation with Germany and the possibility of war. It would have been amazing if the connection had taken place. Years later the forestry roads were built using the same plans so I suppose they did get built in a way.

My dog had an eye infection. After spending £150 at the vets I read about using green tea. IT WORKS!!! Since then I have told a few people when they have had eye problems and it’s worked for them too. Just leave the tea bag in a cup of boiled water, overnight. Take out teabag and bathe the eye, maybe 3 or 4 times during the day. In the evening start a fresh cup to use the next day. Remember to use a different clean cloth or cotton wool pad in each eye to prevent cross infection. Good luck and thanks for the videos.

I very much enjoyed this video! You covered the cottage, the garden, your precious pets, the homestead...How a house evolves into a home, how one settles into the rhythm of living and the beauty of ordinary days.
People today struggle with these things. We live in a world of emphasis on achieving, of chasing the next big thing, and I think that the appeal of your journal is that it taps into longings for relief from all the chaos...whether others (or even yourself) are even aware of this.
So, keep it up young man, keep it up. Even if you scale back your postings, people will be waiting.

As someone watching from the USA I appreciate when you pronounce Welsh words and phrases as you speak. Another language in another country is interesting but hard to read and pronounce. You enunciate clearly enough to begin to understand Welsh. One more reason I watch your channel. Thank you, Sean.

Interesting info re those potatoes. I had no idea you could plant a certain variety of potatoes in the late fall that will be ready for Christmas. Enjoying my summer potatoes right now but will definitely see if there is a winter variety here on the west coast of Canada. Thanks for that info Sean. Pick up some pink eye ointment at the pharmacy before it gets worse and spreads to your other eye. Hope you have improvement soon. Those old books are quite the treasures. Very interesting! Take care and have a relaxing weekend. 🇨🇦💕👍🏻

Enjoyed your video. Cold tea without milk is good for your eye . Soak some cotton wool and bathe and leave it on your eye for a few .minutes. Next time you are in the village go to the chemist get some Opticrom eye drops you don't need a prescription they will help. You should have a kids paddling pool on the Homestead to soak your feet while having a cup of tea. Get a long rope ,tie a bucket to it get water from the river behind your shed.Fill the pool soak your feet with a cup of tea and biscuit. 😅 That Avon spray is good for midges also Lemon grass oil they hate that. That was interesting about the old books with the surveyor plans. The men all dressed up were most probably the engineers interesting tho. That must have been hard work putting your desk upstairs on your own. Looks better there.

Hi Sean..... was lovely t see the old photo album and technical drawings/ working plans in the other book! I doubt many 'modern' engineers have the technical drawing (by hand)skills ( relying on computer apps?)... any more.
    Re.Eye infection
One helpful 'olde home remedy' is to use tea! Pour boiling water over a tea bag (no milk or sugar, lol!) allow it to cool to room temperature, then use a lint- free pad/ cloth to soak up some of the black tea...n wipe eye from inside corner towards outside! It will relieve the itching and is mildly anti- bacterial! One precaution though....never use the same 'cloth' to treat both eyes as can spread t both eyes!
This method is a 'go to' for mums of baby's/ tots! Lint free cotton pads are sold in most chemists either in infant or make- up departments!
A random fact....a Nursing mother can use her own breast- milk for that purpose...(or cows milk!)
If your eye is not improving after 48hrs...please see a Doctor or opthalmatisian....coz may need further treatment....eyesight to important to risk!
I bet it feels good knowing that you're almost there regards getting your house 'put t rights'!

Question.why can't you just plant ordinary potatoes when they start growing roots ?...

    • @juliawigger9796
      @juliawigger9796 Месяц назад

If you plant potatoes you bought from a supermarket they could carry diseases. If you get them from a recognised grower, your potatoes shouldn't develop virus etc.

    • @seanjamescameron
      @seanjamescameron  Месяц назад +5

You can but you can't be 100% certain you aren't introducing any potato disease. Using seed potatoes are totally disease free.
