- It’s challenge time as Kim and Aggie meet the Williams family of nine. This is the first time they have cleaned the house together.

I grew up in worse conditions. A very mentally ill mother who couldn’t waste anything. Still to this day she lives in squaller and refuses to admit the problem. This resulted in my brother and I being neglected, with no access to fresh food or hygiene. We had no help from outside professionals. Thank you to these people for helping this family.
It’s a more widespread problem than is realised.

The parents act as if they don't care and the mom she will go back to her old ways being nasty the kids did awesome and the parents can learn from them.
@@susanwatson3074 as someone who has a messy/hoarding/mentally ill mother, I know for a fact they never learn. Unsure of the mother of this video’s background, but there is a name for the illness called “Diogenes Syndrome”. Yes the environment is what you describe “nasty”, but as an adult, I understand my mother cannot be helped. I think there’s not enough recognition these days for this type of illness. What I dislike though, is the effect it has on the children. Now as an adult, I have diagnosed PTSD from my childhood. That’s the hard truth from being a victim of Diogenes.
Laura mental health comes in many forms I hope you managed to make good of your lives. However these pair have no excuse to have in the state it’s in, they don’t need a show house,just something organised and clean,I’d go of me rocker❤
This is concerning for these children. Poor loves. Parents need to grow up and be responsible

Not seen this episode before. I’m shocked at the lack of gratitude of both parents. The children don’t deserve parents like that. Harsh, I know, but true.

I've got a feeling that this house will be in the same mess in a few months. They didn't seem to notice how bad it was and so didn't appreciate how much better it was clean. They seem ok living in filth. I just feel sorry for their children

That mother’s flippant attitude chapped my ass. Part of being a good parent is providing a decent home. Her children deserve better.

Me too. I have six ages 13 and under and we homeschool (so they are home all day making messes) and our house is just as clean as anyone else’s. It just entropies quickly, but is picked up quickly too. Just this morning I scrubbed our living room floor while my kids organized books, pulled weeds in the garden, and cleaned bathrooms. We are a family. We all live here and work together.

Some of the children are old enough to help out.. Just having a routine, putting clothes away, making the bed, tidying round? Doing them no favours for adult life by teaching them nothing about basic housekeeping.

Yes especially the ones who are not in school yet. He’s delirious. She needs a rest too. So after bedtime he rests while she makes lunches, does laundry. That’s crazy.

This programme was great in the day, now we have RUclips cleaners who clean up this kind of thing on there own. I like Aurikattiina, and midwest magic cleaning who do fantastic jobs.

Aurikattina's heart is in the right place but I can't stomach her methods. She does not cover her hands, arms, nose, mouth, or hair and then cleans a putrid home and doesn't seem to mind getting filth on her.
@@Mary-cg1sl she keeps her hair tide up, clean with Barbie seems to have her hair loose. Auri must have a strong immune system. I clean in hospitals,I leave my shoes in the car and change out of my uniform as soon as I get in, I don’t want germs in my home

Ok .. I couldn't even watch all of this episode BUT the attitude of these parents is borderline insanity!!! If you don't want to clean your house HIRE SOMEONE to clean so your precious children don't grow up thinking living in a cesspool is normal!

Beyond disgusting. These parents just keep breeding and breeding how about making sure the kids you already have live in a clean, safe house? That house wasn't just filthy, it was putrid. How could you let your kids live in that???

The kitchen and probably the whole house will be back to the way it was in a few months. The kids seem to be trying, at least. But those parents are pathetic.

Yup..there is a whole load of lazy going on...they drop stuff on the floor and can't be bothered to pick it up and before anyone quotes ' mental health' remember it works both ways. A lot of people find they have control over their lives by controlling their environment.

If mother doesn't have to go to work like the guy said, then she really should stay at home. That is old fashion and not many have the opportunity to do that anymore. However, if he is bringing home enough, then she should stay at home and take care of house and kids.

If we still lived in tribal communities where extended family are close by and help, and we don’t have so much stuff to keep clean and organised, life for mums would be easier. I’m disabled so my husband works two jobs so our family can have a good standard of living. if it’s weren’t for my mother-in-law cleaning our house and tidying, and my mum helping us to pay for cleaners, my house would no doubt look like this too. It’s easy to judge but societal norms let mothers down.
There is some true to this but there are many parents who don't have much in terms of help nor finances yet manage to keep it clean. Children deserve a decently clean home and it should be a priority

I know some of these shows are older, but still very pertinent!! These people, the parents, should be absolutely ashamed at the state of the house. It shows total and complete laziness. A good regime, daily schedule would fix it up in no time. Also, get the kids involved, too. They don't like a dirty house....how do they bring friends in??? How embarrassing for them. They all need their collective butts kicked!!
Here in the US those children would be taken by Child Protection Services.

I honestly don't wish to be judgemental but I have seen hundreds and hundreds of different home's in the USA worse.
The UK is far more advanced than that. We aim to help the parents to keep the family together and obviate the trauma the children suffer by removal from parents and siblings. The US has some way to go .

There’s a lot more to it than being ‘lazy’, poor mother has a lot on her plate , her mental health could be suffering which could be contributing to the homes state. The children probably love their mammy, you could have the cleanest house in the world but battleaxe parents … atleast they contacted the show for help.

@@KayMags-in4xp Well to be fair, he is less lazy than the mother, he works from 7:00am in the morning to 6:00pm, he probably has to get up at 6:00am in the morning, although he could do some at the weekend and bank holidays.

The mother is psychologically disassociated. She's not emotionally in touch with reality. She can't respond as an emotionally adjusted person would. The kids responded to some 'motherly' concern from Kim and Aggie showing what they really want and need, a safe, clean, and orderly home life.

Yes, I got that feeling too. Like if she's always got a baby on the go, she can perpetually use it as an excuse not to do any work around the house.

The parents are the problem, they are not taking responsability and the kids follow in their footsteps, hopefully some kids will retain the lessons they have learned. Mom and dad are depressed and sadly the kids will become more responsable than the adults.
My house is messy not not disgusting, this episode is a lesson not to let my household go. I congratulate myself everyday when I declutter an area. Simplifying is the way to go, I am more aware and critical of what I bring into my home.

OMG. The parents obviously are the problem but after 2 weeks the kids had maintained their spaces while mum and dad were shameful, how long does it take to close a bag of flour or whatever properly and to clean up spills behind the bin etc, if they can’t do that then goodness knows what the kitchen is going to be like in a month 🤢

Im sorry but my mum had 8 of us and there no way she let the house get in that state , her husband right she at home so there time to do cleaning regardless how many kids you have . To allow your kids to live in that filth is bad .

Why social services not supported this family, no children should be living in such a dirty scummy place, I am shocked, why should children live in such a squalor, these two adults totally failed these children.
House work is tedious and with kids to care for and a house to clean it's definitely not a job for one person. But with that being said it's hard to believe each space in a home can get to such a terrible state if someone cares about it. No one here cares at all, it's sad.
If I kept my children in such a mess I would worry they would be taken away from me. Completely unacceptable living condtions, how sad.

The parents are vile. How can you let all the food in your house be moldy or full of bugs? What are they even feeding the kids? I think dad gets a nice break when he goes to work. He dont have to deal with it. My grandma had 15 kids and house was very clean . I taught my boys to clean and do their laundry.there is no excuse for this.
