Many people conveniently forget Frank Lampard brought Derby to the Play Off Final and got Chelsea into the top 4 in his first season under a transfer ban.
I can only assume Coventry are going for Lampard because they hope to replicate the same success/progress that Derby County had under him in the Championship. It's a risk for sure but also it could work.
@peterruff5810 There was no points deduction for them that season and only a playoff final compared to the semi final difference which if you know the playoffs it's hardly predictable we smashed Derby both times during the regular season it was close in the final. Anyway other then that one point less then his predecessor with the investment he had with some quality loans in there as well. Derby was like Villa that season for the squad we had we massively underperformed.
As an Everton and Cov supporter it's not terrible news, shouldn't have sacked Mark at all and it's gonna be tough to follow up but whoever we get I hope they do well. Full support behind Frank if that's the way they go
A brilliant footballer, with an extremely high mensa i.q too...doesn't mean you gonna be a good manager tho i guess...needs to make this one work doesn't he, good luck to him
As a Cov fan I feel we're getting 'the last turkey in the butchers window' if we get Lampard. Happy to be proved wrong. Was skeptical about Kev Moore becoming Cov Blaze head coach but he's doing an amazing job.
@@barryonyett8638 Not really buddy. Lampard is a world class manager and clowns like you will get on the bandwagon and pretend you never doubted him as soon as he shows it. Like this comment so I can come back 2 years after when Frank gets Coventry competing again in the Prem
I love Frank but I just don't think he's cut out to be a manager, he's tactically too limited and I really don't want to see him potentially driving another club into a relegation scrap. He works fine enough as a pundit he should keep to that even over a drop to the Championship in my opinion.
Please tell me what this man has done as a manager to keep getting these jobs? His managerial record is trash. He’s managed some big clubs. To be fair all the clubs he’s managed have been big clubs with history. Except Chelsea theirs is only recent with daddy warbucks money but still. Roy Keane won the championship with Sunderland. Has everyone forgot that? And he can’t get a job? Madness
Taking a risk? Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard are all shite managers. Its the equivalent of getting Michael Schumacher to build the car, brilliant driver but can't tie his shoelace.(...or Lewis Hamilton)
It's a pretty terrible comparison as Schumie prior to his accident would have been one of the best engineers among any F1 driver past or present. But yeah I get your point, Lewis Hamilton may have been a better comparison though
I can only assume Coventry want to be relegated... Lampard is an awful, awful manager. Beggars belief why any club in the football league would be looking at him.

I would hardly call his Derby side progress
@@dennisgoatimer1079Got to a Play Off Final losing to Aston Villa , it's just the deduction of points they had which mucked them up in the end.

City should have been among the favourites for promotion this season. Frank can't do worse than they've done so far this term
I think Frank Lampard is not bad for Coventry but we have to see what happen let give him a chance tell me if i am wrong
Risk are a part of life
Huge risk for both parties
More for Coventry

Far too risky. He’s definitely not an upgrade on Mark Robins.
Looking at the championship table, why do you rate Mark Robins?
If not Frank then Who.

Terrible news for CCFC - relegation looms
I don’t think there is any risk attached to it. We know it will be a massive disaster.
