Just a little side note: Korean names put the last name/family name first, then the persons actual name. The last name always consists of only 1 syllable and the first name of 2. So when he says his name is „Jeong Deok-Su“, it means his name is Deok-Su. Jeong is his last name. Same with Seong Gi-Hun, Kang Saebyeok etc
오 잘 아시네요
Hi. That's not completely accurate. You're 100% correct that we put our last names first but you're wrong about the other two statements regarding Korean names. There are Korean last names with two syllables such as Namkang (남궁). They're not very common and only about a dozen exist but they do exist. One of my childhood school friends was a Namkang. You're also not correct about first names always having two syllables. My brother-in-law is living proof of that one. His name is Hoon Kim. My friend Namkang Ju also had only one syllable for her first name. Take care & stay safe!
While your attempt to explain some Korean culture is admirable, please make sure you're accurate before giving out wrong information on the Korean culture. People read stuff like this and think they know Korean culture well and spread this kind of misinformation to others non-Korea. It's definitely not the case all the time and would appreciate people like these explain really accurate info to help people understand the real facts about Korean culture. In other words, please make sure you know exactly what you're talking about before telling people inaccurate info that some will take as fact and spread it further to others. Thanks. Take care & stay safe!
I say family name…Korean it comes first, Western, it comes last.
@@Sunset553 Hello. You're right that surnames come first then first names but I was addressing the OP that said Korean last names always have only one syllable and first names always has two syllables. He/she was speaking in absolutes and I was pointing out that the info wasn't true. There ARE KOREAN last names with TWO syllables and there are Korean first names with just ONE syllable. I wanted to make sure the information he/she was saying with regards to Korean names was accurate because his/her assumptions were wrong. Thanks. Stay safe!
Love that the cliff hanger is almost an actual cliffhanger here!
Literally Cliffhanger.
Like in that kids show about lions at a library with the cliffhanger
The actor who played Gi-Hun did not use a stunt double, he was actually hanging on the rope!
@@itsby199 🥇 you’re the first RUclips commenter to ever use ‘literally’ correctly, congrats!
Ali's missing fingers were shown in ep2 when he was complaining to his boss about not getting paid and not having money to get his hand treated. Considering what happened to the boss shortly after, Ali's was most likely a workplace injury too on one of the machines.
"Purposely giving them less food" wasn't about the quantity, they had the exact amount for the number of players. It meant "less food" as in only a soda and an egg. That drove Deok Su's team to get seconds, and instigate a fight.
Spot on about Mi Nyeo IMO. I felt she was just trying to attach herself to the strongest person/team for survival, and using whatever she had to get in with them.
Love your reactions!
What gets me is that both the husband and wife decided to come back AFTER they learned that people die in these games, so they know that it’s most probable that at least one of them will die. Still they’re willing to risk both lives for a chance at one of them having the money.
dont forget, everyone there is in a really fucked up situation, often with death being a possibility. like this one gang dude was gonna group up on the squid game, but got betrayed and nearly killed, making squid game save his life in a way, since he probably would have gotten killed by the people he stole from.
San-woo’s debt is 6 billion not 600 billion.
6 billion Korean won, but more like 6 million USD
Which is around 5 million USD, still a lot of money, but considerably less than it initially seems like.
Yeah probably got confused because Sang-Woo said he owed 6 billion and then Gi-Hun replied with "I thought it was 600 million?" right after.
@@foilhattiest1 I wish they went into more detail about the nature of the additional debt that even the game organizers didn't know about. The explanation about gambling it on futures and derivatives kinda explains it, but still not enough for someone not savvy in finance and why that debt wouldn't be known given the way they conduct extensive research on the players. I think that maybe it's just like an unknown amount that fluctuates, similar to how stocks can rise or plummet dramatically, so maybe by the time the games started the failed investments crashed way, way harder for Sang-Woo. My guess is, the mom's house and shop being put up for collateral was counted towards the 600 million won debt and they couldn't track down the investments because Sang-Woo used a third party to facilitate the transactions?
@@Rakerong Yes, most likely it was something along those lines. I do quite a bit of stock trading myself (not high risk futures and derivatives though) and most of my investments aren't directly owned by me either and likely couldn't be traced to me by an outside party. Which is nothing fishy or illegal, it's just how the market works in some cases, so I would bet it's something similar in Sang-Woos case.
Love that Sam dressed up as Jonas Kahnwald, it’s just unfortunate that barely anyone will recognize or misinterpret him as the kid from It 😂
i finished the show and never even cared that much about IT (still good movie) and thought he was playing the kid till he said "ich bin jonas".
Oh, yes! From 'Dark'!
I think that's a double win✌️
Yeah, I don’t recognize any of them, but I’m enjoying watching the branch waving around.
Loved 'Dark' until about the first season. Then they overcomplicated things to the point I didn't care and stopped watching around end of 2nd season. Way too many timelines and way too many parallel universes. I watch TV to relax, not to work overtime.
The doctor who was harvesting organs couldn't be one of them because the workers weren't supposed to be doing it, either - it wasn't an official part of the game plan, but it shows that everyone is just trying to make money. That's why they deleted the footage, so the higher-ups wouldn't see that some bodies were being diverted from the incinerators. The players have detailed files, so they learned one was a doctor and needed his help to extract the organs undamaged. In exchange, they provided him information about the next games.
19:01 The exact rule was those who pass 6 games win the prize. They never said it was just one winner.

Yeah, and the last game is a team game. Attacker and defender.
So if there is 8 people in the Defender or Attacker and if the Attacker won the Squid Game then the money would be split to 8 people.
Sorry for my bad english
@@scaryghost5721SPOILER
although it is theoretically possible, I don't think it's the case because in the winners list there's only 1 winner each year. So the front man probably manipulates/chooses the games so that only 1 winner exists.
@@ishansharma2463 Spoilers
:)
If At least 4 people made it to the final game, 2 people would of won. Since there was almost a 3rd person, it seems entirely possible. Its just that the odds are stacked against them. Imagine if the majority survived the 5th game and no one decided to commit murder between games after that. It was possible for that to happen, it was just chance.
@@jakalder spoilers
Unless they would make the 2 survivors of the squid game fight it out or something. We don't know if they would actually allow 2 winners.
This show is tension and suspense personified
just a little pronuciation help since you said some of them were hard
gi-hun is pronounced like ki-hoon
sae-byeok like say-byok
sang-woo like sahng-oo
deok-su like dok-soo
also, if you've noticed sangwoo calls gihun "hyung" instead of his name but the captions still say gihun. that's because hyung is an older brother/male friend of another man. quick little korean lesson
isn't it deok-su?
@@jamesliggins891 oh ya duh I was thinking of hometown cha cha cha
Ali calls Sang-Woo hyung. Sang-Woo didn't ever call Gi-Hun hyung. They're the same age
@@mervynlarrier9424 you only call hyung if his older than you. i think gi-hun is older maybe a year or months
@@mervynlarrier9424 sangwoo called gihun hyung in the first episode and multiple other times throughout the show. he's one year younger than gihun
Love the intro and I cant believe you got THE Doc! Keep up the awesome work!
The prize money is way higher than their debts. It's life-changing. It can pay their debts and at the same time allow them to build their own business and more.No one's gonna risk their lives for a prize money that is lesser than their debts. The VIPs are not cheap like that. haha
Because the doctor agree to help them harvest the organ only if the inside men help him win the game.
The Doctor is a not related or is friend to those inside men. They just random people that met in the game by chance. They dont know each other in real life.
Those inside men see the doctor profile and see that he is a surgeon doctor and then ask him to harvest organ in return they gave him information about the game.
and probably there is a complicated selection to be one of the O, Square and Triangle. And all of them didnt knew each other in real life, even the one that involved in harvesting organ operation. All of their data profile is in the system and will be check reguraly.
Sorry for my bad english
Shout outs to Dark!! Love to see the other two react to it if they haven't yet!
I understand your confusion but it is 6 billions, not 600 billions.
In the second episode Sang Woo said that the people in charge believed that his debt was: 600 millions, but it was 6 billions.
So it was messed up both.
Loving the reactions!! What you said in the last minutes about how good it is to know there are still great shows being made I think you should look into more Korean content because there are some amazing and brilliant things made there. As good or even better than Squid Game. Even if you don't do reactions about them I highly recommend it. It's been some years since I began watching Korean shows and I have not been disappointed.
Can you please recommand some?
@@kikima258 Well, what kind of shows do you like? I would recommend D.P., Move to Heaven, Kingdom, Prison Playbook, Stranger, My Mister, Mr Sunshine. I think they are all brilliant and even better than Squid Game (which I also loved!). There are also many romance shows and even though the genre is not really my favorite Koreans know how to deliver these narratives and make them absolutely excellent like in It's okay not to be okay, Because this is my first life, Run On, Search WWW. All of them very touching shows. They are available on Netflix (at least in Brazil). Hope you enjoy!!
I saw Jonas RIGHT AWAY!!! do awesome!!! 😀
I love the incredibly fast switch between "plot armour", "this old man is a genius" and "GAHHHHH" 😂
you guys rock, amazing reaction as always. i gotta say the editing on this one was extra dope - the countdown thumbnails before lights out were * chef's kiss *
The tug of war is definitely my favourite game, love the reaction haha.
OMG GUYS this costumes are purely amazing! thank you for so much fun :D
OMG i loved the Drdisrespect cosplay lmao on point dude
Yayyyyyy i got the heart :D
1:06 aww i wish you guys reacted to Dark, it's one of my favorite shows EVER.
lol sang-woo was 6 billion, not 600 billion. that would be insane
Love the 'Dark' outfit
the Guy on the left tearing up when the Old man screemed for help im watching him and im seriously worried about him when He will see ep 6 😂😂😂
12:24 probs to whoever edit that, if i'm correct it was Sam
That tree costume is giving me life... LOL
Each player has a file with their skills. The squares will let the circle ones harvesting know which contestant has the surgical skills, then that contestant is recruited by saying hey I'll give you clues if you do this for us.
I was not expecting the dr disrespect look lmfao
hold up, did only this one dude watch dark? next reaction series maybe?
EDIT: please?
Wait DID they watch the netflix series dark if not please do it.
Adam and Will haven’t seen it yet!❤️👀
@@WorkingTitleReacts please let them watch it! ;)

Man, the comment sections on these reaction channels really show how much people would rather correct your minor, easily fixable mistakes instead of actually engaging in an interesting discussion on what people have to say.
Sorry I don’t know your names yet, I’m very new to this channel. Anyway I just wanted to say props to the middle guy for recognizing the coughing as morse code. When I watched I assumed that the officer didn’t want his messages getting tracked or something like that.
Sam's costume reminds me of Georgie (IT)!. Red balloon would have made it perfect.
that " son of a beach " hit hard =))))
I almost choked at gotta water the tree. Thank you for that.
Great video guys!
And love the costumes🎃
I hope to see some decorations for christmas time too !! 🎄;)
just a correction, his Sang-woo debt is 6 billion Won (not 600 billion).
the 600 is something else, the people of the game think he has a debt of 600 Million, but as he said it is more (6 Billion).
you are mixing the B with the M xD
OMG!! thank the heavens, there's at least one person who's quick at everything happening from these reactions, i once watched one channel who have no idea about everything happening, it was so frustrating to watch.
Groot really looking different over the years
Thank you for watching it with the correct subtitles: one of the v few reviewers to do so, so well done!
That 3 times world champion costume is on point
Awesome on getting the morse code 👏👏👏
New intro?… that remote bit in the beginning was lit
You all UPSET when the blade cut off the rope...lol
Doc here bringing the VSM..love it!
The current amount of prize money in this episode is definitely more than enough for Sangwoo to pay his debts and then some. He said he owes 6 billion won, current prize money is 34 billion won.
I like the Doc cosplay 😂
i love your guys reaction!!
You guys are awesome! Love the costumes! The middle guy is so cool. I just love him lol
lol. i died at the Dark OST playing.
costumes are amazing! haha👍🏽
"Gotta water the tree"
"Exfoliating"
😆
Beside many of them being assholes in their life outside anyway. Korean men all served the military, and it can be quite harsh in the military even though they don't go to war. Harsh bully issue is a problem in the military and there is a Korean Netflix series called D.P. about that topic if you are interested.
I love the black sofa
At first glance I thought that was Korg on the right, then I thought it was Groot. 😂😂😂😂 I finally got it.
the tree costume>>>
NOT THE TREE
I’m dying laughing from the guy in the middle…
Oh my gad, oh my gad, oh my gad
😂😂😅
*Do you think the Squid Games would exist if we did not put a price on the lives of others?*
Squid Games is a critique on how capitalism is rooted in the discrimination, oppression, and exploitation of others. It is important for us to learn this lesson on morality from this drama. Squid Games compares the contestants of the game to horses. In horse racing, horses are forced to participate in cruel life or death races as a form of entertainment for humans. They do not consent to be ridden and whipped. If they are not fast enough to win or get injured, they get sent to a slaughterhouse where they will get a knife across their throat. Even the retired winners will get a knife across their throat. Just like the contestants of Squid Game- those who fail the game get killed. Both Squid Games, horse racing, other injustices such as racism, sexism, speciesism, slavery, animal consumption, and all the other "-isms" are rooted in the same belief: 1) because they are different from us, 2) it is acceptable to treat them differently or exploit them. All animals, both human and non-human, have the right to live their lives free from oppression for this simple reason: all though we may look different, come from different countries, different races, different species, we all are the same in the ways that matter- we can feel pain, fear, and happiness, we have the ability to suffer, and we all have the will to live and do not wish to be murdered.
I highly recommend everyone check out *Dominion* on RUclips. Plus, with Halloween coming up, I can guarantee that this will be the scariest movie you will ever watch! After watching Squid Games and Dominion, you have a choice: take the red pill or the blue pill. Take the red pill and you will be free from the violence matrix that majority of the world is chained up in, or take the blue pill and you will stay in the matrix forever, but remember that you will be held fully accountable for all the choices you make from then on. Not only does your life depend on this decision, but the lives of billions of other humans, animals, as well as our future and the plant we call home are depending on your decision.
He actually look like Doc and sound like him, what the.
Love your reactions! Please react to Train to Busan...epic korean movie.
love the halloween theme!

Sang woo owes 6 billion, not 600 billion. No one owes that much.
"The betrayal came quick" yeah, just like him. Badumtsssss. Sorry.
the shortage was only from the people stealing. the game host just only game small portions to make others want more.
