10:51 Actually, if you look at the charts from Knife Steel Nerd, Magnacut is tougher than both Elmax and 1095, and has better edge retention than 3V and 1095.

His charts are wrong. He also said M4 has more edge retention then Cruwear but Cruwear smokes M4. He also said 64HRC is the max for Cruwear but I’ve got amazing results with my design in Cruwear at 66hrc. Don’t believe everything.🤔

@@WhatsthePOINT_EDCVery right. I bet he doesn’t know you can heat treat 1095 to 64 HRC and thi BTE and smoke S35VN. Check Erica’s edc and you will learn something. Real world testing and testing in a close pre determined blade stock, with area. Not good for real world knowledge. Who cuts CATRA with the same blade shape and geometry? Geometry and heat treatment will determine more about a knife than a steels composition

Awesome test! Although, I think you should notify the company about that rattle you mentioned!

I wonder what Demko would do for real. I notified the owner of the knife. Overall it’s one hell of a knife. This specific knife has been beat on like a red headed step child. Haha! Thanks man!👊🤣🤘

Awesome knife , i agree with the handle rattle. Seems like Demko has the magncut heattreat down patt.

Their heat treatment is definitely on point. These over molded handles have a tendency to do that but I will still recommend it. Thanks man!👊🤘

I used it for awhile, then sent it off to Scab and he put it through his hard use, then I used it some more before I sent it to you. It's been put through it's paces for sure. The heat treat seems to be holding up awesome, because I never sharpened it after Scabs use. I just stropped it a bit, so that edge har really performed amazing!.
Once I get it back I'll decide what to do about the handle after checking it out.

I cut a fair amount of cardboard, usually with a hawkbill and I like to see how this knife deals with that task. Proper slicey.
Yes, I do enjoy whittling wood. Yesterday I started and today I finished a 7' beechwood pole, to mount a 14" double edged billhook. Video's up on my channel if you're interested.

I’ve only had 1 experience with magancut so far. Bark river gunny Lt, it was ground veeeeery thin. Did some wood carving and had some micro chipping. Was able to sharpen them out no problem. But I think I’ll stick with my 3v regular gunny for that type of work from now on

Oh ok. I haven’t used the Gunny yet but I do have one in 3V I haven’t tested. Thanks Joe!👊🤘

Very nice, not sure what that rattle issue was I have beaten my demko fixies to hell and back never had this issue myself... Another great one to checkout is his Armiger4 in 80crv2 sub $100 fixed blade tuff'r than nails brother... Also there are mini armiger2 for $20 that make great little beater knives that definately will get some work done!

Yea man I want to check out everything Demko has to offer. This knife has been through a lot and I don’t hold it against Demko. It’s damn sharp considering all the cutting it’s done on the same edge. Thanks Kevin! I appreciate it bud.👊🤘

How would you compare this knife to an LT Wright Genesis for camping and bushcraft tasks and value. $200 is just slightly cheaper than Genesis series.

    • @WhatsthePOINT_EDC
      @WhatsthePOINT_EDC  4 месяца назад +2

@@dcentral Good question. As far as functionality both are good. Ergonomics go to the BK-9. Looks go to the Genesis. Both have similar materials other than the sheaths. They both have high carbon steel, & micarta scales. The Genesis has a quality leather sheath with a drop loop, while the BK-9 has a nylon sheath. No doubt the Genesis can chop good for its size, but the BK-9 has a longer blade so it chops better. Efficiency goes to the BK-9 and robustness goes to the LT Wright.
Dollar of dollar performance goes to the BK-9.
That’s a long winded answer! Haha! Take it easy.👊🤣🤘
