It's important to be zen and try to be respectful to your surroundings, do not skate on obvious cultural sites, rather find areas where people don't give a shit you skate. I don't like to find nice places and boom i see wax-lines everywhere, I actually don't. I mostly BMX so it's even more destructive. I don't chose spots where I have blind spots, I don't want to ram a bypasser. I have been hit by skaters and I have seen old people being rammed, it's not cool, we have to consider public streets like trafficand cars, we need to ve careful with blind spots and not crash. Kids shouldn't be on Skateparks, most of the rampe are dangerous for them to ride their Mountain bikes at. I have never experienced problems with BMX on skateparks, I usually communicate with Skaters, they take the spots i ain't using and I take the spots they aren't using and we can switch, this way we are aware of each-other. Nah, the scooter kid still takes the cake. Had some 8 year old kid throw his scooter in front of my board as I went to drop in. Face planted and I skinned my hand down to the bone. Scooters were banned at the park too.
Some people are so insecure about helmets, and someone like Andy Anderson scares them to shit, cause He debunks that myth, that great skaters dont wear protection or that it makes your skating worse somehow. Great person that Andy, amazing Skater
In all of my years skateboarding I've never heard anyone, in person, criticize someone for wearing a helmet - no one cares. People are different online, though. I've always thought people give Andy a hard time because his skating doesn't warrant a helmet, but to each their own.
Yeah i never once heard anyone say theres something wrong with helmets. Helmets are amazing and have saved thousands of lives only a idiot would have a issue with them.
in the 90's I was stoked as hell when a local skate shop "sponsored" me by giving me free shoes twice a year and one deck every 2 months. All of this is true though. It was true in the 80's and 90's and it is sad that it is still like that. Boomers need to go.
Good for you if you wear a helmet while skating I respect it tbh, just because most people don't doesn't mean it isn't okay to. I'd rather someone smack their head and be okay than get brain damage because people made fun of them for it.
Don’t hate on Nyjah for making himself and his art into millions of dollars. He’s broken bones, gotten horrible concussions, bled everywhere, and knocked himself out so you could watch a 5 minute video part of him skating things like a 20 rail like it’s not a big deal. It’s not his fault sponsorships and fame show up after being one of best skaters out there. Skaters are the most underpaid athletes but suddenly once a skater starts making millions he’s a sellout if he doesn’t turn down almost every sponsorship and turn down every deal with a company.
In my day, late 90s early 2000s if a grown man approached me like that he would have ended up with a board in the face. Happened a few times. People think their tough....until they don't usually after a 16 year old just laid them out. These days they would cry assault. My day they just walked off with their tale between their legs. I use to hate the fake tough guy routine. I boxed since I was very young so words and intimidation didn't really work with me. I was ready to throw hands if they were. And usually it ended badly for them. This was the 90s though. Skating was very counter culture back then so we got labelled and judged a lot. Many times ended with fists being thrown. Was just part of skating back then.
What i would do was just put my elbow out so they cant get close to me tbh. If they touch me and i have it on record then i could report them for assault of touching me without my consent 🤷♂️
i still skate on occasion and used to do a little BMX , and the ''do a kick-flip'' people are just as annoying as the '' pop a wheelie'' guys every time im out on my bmx, or even my cruiser ffs, someone says; '' hey man, do a wheelie'' ! and even if i pop that front tire no more than an inch off the ground, they are thrilled . i have no idea why. i mean i have purposely done the smallest of wheelies and they still get just as excited as when i pop up and ride the back wheel a few feet. i dont get it
"As long as you're having fun, the karen's homing mechanism will always find you and think of any excuse to kick you out" *I couldn't have described it any better* lol
yeah it was wicked, and not just cool cop, but also pretty mad skills, that push bumper is a small space, not a lo to work with, but he did something awesome with it and it worked perfectly.
Back in days, I remember a security guard in a mall was trying to take my board out my 10yo hands(we wasnt even on it, we were on foot just chilling and buying food) , all the olders homies were almost throwing their board on his face to scare him. The d*ckhead was scared enough and let my board slip off his dirty hands and we escaped like in a movie lmao
Literally got attacked by an old Karen and her dog yesterday for skating at the park. Her reason was that her rat dog got angry at me because of the noise and ran over to me because it wasn't on a leash. I think some dog owners feel way too entitled and can absolutely ruin your day. Isn't the first time something like that happened to me.
After skateboarding back, I literally dealt with a security guard saying I’m on private property (garage) while it says it’s for public use. I’m over here, at 27, nothing change from 12 years ago
Perfect video for my perfect story time! My local skatepark is complete crap so i usually travel to big cities. I once travelled to perfect skatepark. Only minus was infection of scooter kids. One of them was trying to film a clip(he had natzi t-shirt xD). He was really really bad at filming. One of my friends was just riding behind him, but kiddo suddenly turned around snake'ing my fella. Kid's phone fell to the ground and broke a little(womp womp). He started harrasing my friend and starting a fight. My bro told him to chill, cause he doesn't want to fight, but won't give him money cause none of this is his fault. Little brat didn't stop making a fight. When my friend told him that he can fight, then kiddo called for his 4 adult friends. They tried to spot us down and even hit my friend once. We hid in the store and cashier called the police. I was never scared as much ever before. Happily the situation ended with my second friends dad gettin' us all home. We ain't gonna go to this skatepark for long time since then
I honestly loved the comparison with the car enthusiasts that cant drift. Bcuz for me, i'm a huge car enthusiast and i also drift when i'm not skating or when its raining and i think youre absolutely right. There some guys that know more about cars than i do but they cant drift for example. And i think its the same with skating just because you cant do what others can doesnt mean youre not a skater. Its all about the passion and the love behind your hobby and if youre passionate about it then you should have no worries being in the right place or so. Keep doing what you love and you'll be fine!
Another big part is making fun of people because they drive FWD or can't drive stick. I know that both are big things that add to the experience, but if someone finds a way to enjoy what they do whether it's driving or skating more power to them. I think there will always be a person to find a way to rag on someone for not doing something exactly the way they do it, but all you can do is just shrug it off and do you.
my response to karens is "well if its for everybody, that includes me" and just skate around there kids until they leave, our park is privately owned by a retired surfer and he banned anyone who isnt skateboarding, since the park is technically private property he has took legal action against karens and scooter kids parents
i use an electric longboard to get around campus. once there were some high schools visiting and i was going around 25 mph since it was usually dead hours and some kid ran out at me yelling at me to do a kickflip... my guy im on an ELECTRIC LONGBOARD
The Nyjah hate is lame. He pushed skateboarding to another level, inspired tons of young skaters and helped them make a living by massively increasing the exposure of the sport.

Just did a deep dive into Nyjah. And I’m at a loss for words almost. There are three and only three reasons people hate him, unless you count the 4th which is to hate him because it’s cool to. 1. Accusation of rape in 2021 with Chase Webb, those charges were dropped and there are no ways of finding the “victim” which simply couldn’t happen if it was true due to police reports. And no one’s done any investigation at all themselves not even a google search, they hear the gross accusation and immediately demand for him to be cancelled but not Chris Webber, or the literal thousands of celebrities who’ve also been either accused or falsely accused. 2. He’s a “sellout” and to the popular opinion that means cannot be endorsed/sponsored by anything, which would mean any celebrity or friend or family member or RUclipsr is a sellout as soon they become successful, including people like Tony Hawk, Steve-o, Ishad, Lebron, Curry, Micheal Jordan, Messi, Ronaldo, Scarlett Johansson, Dwayne Rock Johnson, Kevin Heart, Dave Chappell, Bobby Lee, Bill Burr, And Micheal Jackson.. by the “sellout definition” 3. He’s too good and wins too often because of that making him seem robotic, and again that means if anyone ever in the history of anything we’re to attain mastery at anything, they are now robotic and lifeless because of them being very very good 3.5 He doesn’t wear exactly what everyone else wears, but hang on? I thought individualism is key and being apart of the flock makes you a sell out? I am Extremely and utterly disappointed in this community.
As a 10-year-old I try my best not to get in anyone’s way at the skate park. I don’t have a scooter and I try to be as nice as I can with the teenagers if they’re not making fun of me of course.
Hey man great video! I used a voice clip from one of your older videos in my upload today! It's a slightly spicy topic, and the voice clips was fitting. So I hope you enjoy!
As someone who bombs around.. the "do a kickflip" bros are the worst.... I ride 9+ inch boards.... I only have so many kickflips boys! And they're at every stop light....
there was a young kid probably like 8 just always unknowing getting in the way (nothing new) I told his mom after almost crumbling the kid "i'm trying not to hit him, sorry" she said "well he's gonna have to learn eventually". did I end up hitting the kid? that's my deathbed secret.
Hey skate or die, I’ve been binge watching all your video cuz I got a really bad fever (102.4) love your videos skate or die and your videos have helped my get through this fever 💥🤛🏽🛹🇵🇭
How to deal with soccer kid Karens. Call the cops on them for child endangerment and be professional to the cops about your concerns for her children’s safety. It’s completely valid and I’m sure the cop would agree. She’s actively putting her children in danger to take over the skatepark. The mindset of “I dare you to run into my kid” needs to be corrected. Call on em
I usually just wear a helmet when I think there’s a good chance I could take a nasty fall or if I’m trying a new trick that scares me. Not for my regular stuff though. Totally support other people wearing helmets either way
Whenever some stranger yells "Do a kickflip", I do an original flip trick I invented in the early 90's I call "Slice and dice" and most of the time they cheer but don't say "What was that?" or "That's not a kickflip". 99% of the time.
Even tho Im not a skater, I can ABSOLUTELY relate to snakes, cus I was dirt-jumping with my custom bike amd it is not only anoying AF, but also frickin dangerous fos all, Ive seen such situations at biking spots, and the most anoying thing is that the patents are mad, but dont see any problem in letting their children "jump" there, not even mentioning that they oftenly hurt themselfs by not knowing how to pull off a jump. Respect to all bikers, skaters and other crazy guys, after all, we all have the same problems so, lets all just do what we like, peace.
My best friend and I visited my aunt in portland once and went to burnside to skate it. We were woefully unequipped to even drop in. The regulars didn't say shit to us and just kinda picked on us after we left by imitating us. I wasn't mad. It was cool they let us be in the way without being dicks.
there is a flat spot near my house and its abandoned and every time we go the grandpa who owns the propperty is sooooooo chill he would bring water and tell us to have fun bt dont destroy something, shoutout to him
Can we all just appreciate the irony of getting mad at people for telling us not to skate in the road, yet simultaneously getting mad at “snakes” in a skatepark?
I've been skating for over 30 years (yes, im a geezer), and I have to say young skaters need to show more respect to security guards. If you have a security guard telling you that you can't skate somewhere, he/she is just doing their job, and is in the right, not the skater. Respectfully move on, don't give them a hard time.
Was liking the video til you put out nyjah. A lot of skaters quote on quote “sell out” but gotta also implement factors in too. Nyjahs dad controlled his wealth and life for quite sometime until they broke free of him giving him his own financial freedom. Plus skaters don’t make as much as other athletes or don’t have too many outlets that earn them cash so “selling out” is a good financial move for a lot of up and coming skaters.
"no matter what you do, you'll never be able to control 10 kids treating the skatepark as their personal playground." Most inclusive people indeed. Besides, the whole video is about skaters treating private property as their personal playground, so maybe get off your high horse.
I remeber going to my first skate park near my community and found that 90% of people there were kids with no skateboards and when I started cruising around I bumped into a kid got yelled at by the mom, and decided to never go back 😓
I fully agree with this I live in Australia. 🇦🇺 🇦🇺 and scooter kids are just the worst. Cause they have no skate adequacy. Like scooter kids will stay in the one spot for ages. It’s also frustrating when you’re trying to trick they can see you’re clearly trying a trick and they stand there regardless anyway. I’m not trying to Bag on all scooter kids cause I know not all of them are like that but the kids are. If you’re gonna go to the skate park, at least have skate adequacy. Watch what other people are doing. So you don’t get in their way.
Skating in the 80’s everyone was a Karen and called the cops on us. If the cops caught up to us they would confiscate our boards for 30 days and write us a citation.
#100 happens all the time. Yesterday wasnt so bad no Karen's just couldn't skate the park b/c a lil kid was riding a hoverboard in it and its not that big of a park.
Bruh I was riding and I swear within 30 minutes 25 people asked me to do a kickflip. I live in one of the smallest towns EVER, and still everybody said do it
One time I was skating in my neighborhood and I heard a car coming behind me so I pulled to like the very side of the road. Then the lady in the car honks at me, and tells me to skate on the sidewalk so she can go. The road was plenty wide and there were no cars around, plus I was on the side of the road.
One thing I was sad to see missing from the gatekeeping section was people who insist that skate parks are only for x type of skating, or try to exclude a specific other genre. Like, if someone is shredding on a scooter let them freaking shred. If they're like 7 years old and are getting in the way and making things unsafe then sure, speak to them and the parent who is hopefully supervising them about safety and etiquette, but otherwise just let people skate. Tribalism fricking sucks.
See, maybe I have an anger problem, but if someone kicked my board out from under me or tossed it into traffic, they'd end up in the hospital, old or not. I'd have 0 problem stomping on the ribs of someone like that.

As someone who bombs around.. the "do a kickflip" bros are the worst.... I ride 9+ inch boards.... I only have so many kickflips boys! And they're at every stop light....
A lot of these people should have been charged with assault, but generally cops only target poor people.
there was a young kid probably like 8 just always unknowing getting in the way (nothing new) I told his mom after almost crumbling the kid "i'm trying not to hit him, sorry" she said "well he's gonna have to learn eventually". did I end up hitting the kid? that's my deathbed secret.
Happy to have u back guy
Yo bro u started my sk8 Carrera I remember I got into sk8ing around winter and I couldn't sk8 so I would watch u and all
YOU'RE BACK! Yaaaayy!!!
Hey skate or die, I’ve been binge watching all your video cuz I got a really bad fever (102.4) love your videos skate or die and your videos have helped my get through this fever 💥🤛🏽🛹🇵🇭
hope you get better soon!
I’m so happy you are back
How to deal with soccer kid Karens.
Totally support other people wearing helmets either way
I don't really skate, but seeing these thumbnails with a poor kid on a scooter cracks me up so much.
Nice ZAK DOUTY clip for the DIY SPOT
Whenever some stranger yells "Do a kickflip", I do an original flip trick I invented in the early 90's I call "Slice and dice" and most of the time they cheer but don't say "What was that?" or "That's not a kickflip". 99% of the time.
I gotta know 🤔
Even tho Im not a skater, I can ABSOLUTELY relate to snakes, cus I was dirt-jumping with my custom bike amd it is not only anoying AF, but also frickin dangerous fos all, Ive seen such situations at biking spots, and the most anoying thing is that the patents are mad, but dont see any problem in letting their children "jump" there, not even mentioning that they oftenly hurt themselfs by not knowing how to pull off a jump. Respect to all bikers, skaters and other crazy guys, after all, we all have the same problems so, lets all just do what we like, peace.
Skaters are very inclusive I 100% agree just don't hold your board in the most comfortable way or you will be ridiculed
Ridicule away as I hold my board pretending it's a halo energy sword!
My best friend and I visited my aunt in portland once and went to burnside to skate it. We were woefully unequipped to even drop in. The regulars didn't say shit to us and just kinda picked on us after we left by imitating us. I wasn't mad. It was cool they let us be in the way without being dicks.
Best skateboarding RUclipsr!
there is a flat spot near my house and its abandoned and every time we go the grandpa who owns the propperty is sooooooo chill he would bring water and tell us to have fun bt dont destroy something, shoutout to him
Love this channel
Skate or die is back LETS GO!!!
Can we all just appreciate the irony of getting mad at people for telling us not to skate in the road, yet simultaneously getting mad at “snakes” in a skatepark?
Great vid as always
Appreciate it!
Another banger lets gooo
Dude really said rigth before there donut break lol God bless!
HES BACK, LETS GOOOOO YOUR NOT DEAD ANYMORE
one thing hockey taught me before skateboarding, shoulder down at 20+ mph drops just about everyone lol
4:54 How is this the scooter’s fault?
they might have been talking about the skate boarder
"no matter what you do, you'll never be able to control 10 kids treating the skatepark as their personal playground."
Most inclusive people indeed. Besides, the whole video is about skaters treating private property as their personal playground, so maybe get off your high horse.
@jakkejakaali849 what are you talking about
@@ananazaaaztheman3425 just pointing out the hypocrisy.
@@jakkejakaali849shut up bro. Why are you watching h a skate video then if ur so against it
If you was asked to leave - leave. As soon as you start arguing 1st you are making it worse , 2nd you are not better than that person. Be respectful
You know I don’t skate much cuz my nearest skatepark is a hour away so I fingerboard instead
your clip selection is elite, what the dog doin lmfao
Most people forget that they were skaters too when they were young. Sad!
breathtakingly original content
"What's your name": Ryan Sheckler, security hero gets on his radio...
2:15 ...yo my guy any dog with that leash color is gonna be scared of it's own tail.
I remeber going to my first skate park near my community and found that 90% of people there were kids with no skateboards and when I started cruising around I bumped into a kid got yelled at by the mom, and decided to never go back 😓
Another acceptable response to being asked to kickflip is staring the person in the eye and focusing your own board
Best quote “How’s he damaging? Yes”- guard
If the cops caught up to us they would confiscate our boards for 30 days and write us a citation.
top yt is back
#100 happens all the time. Yesterday wasnt so bad no Karen's just couldn't skate the park b/c a lil kid was riding a hoverboard in it and its not that big of a park.
I need to start skating again man
The dude who did a cancel flip and yelled "psyche!" Legend
The do a kickflip guys are cool. They also test your cultural knowledge having to recognize which pro shouts it to you!
I didn't think the "do a kickflip" thing was real until it happened to me
Bruh I was riding and I swear within 30 minutes 25 people asked me to do a kickflip.
The skate park that was 5 minutes 5 seconds into the video is my local skate park in colorado kids gave me scars there!
I'm lucky I do home school, I could just finish work early and then ask mom If I could go to the park.
Nyjah is my favorite of all time.
See, maybe I have an anger problem, but if someone kicked my board out from under me or tossed it into traffic, they'd end up in the hospital, old or not. I'd have 0 problem stomping on the ribs of someone like that.
Your’e back letsgoooooooo!!!!!! 🛹🛹🛹🛹
Thanks. Educational.
And when the world needed him most he reappeared ❤❤
Welcome back 💅
Gatekeepers are a necessity for EVERY community .. without them everything crumbles..

Even worse than security guards and Karens
