I, unfortunately do not know Norwegian that well.
But I definitely understood what this video was demonstrating.
I see a very interesting method that I will try in the future.
My only question is the type of wood used. Is it Norway spruce (Picea abies), or is it Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestrus) ?

This video is also in an English version (ruclips.net/video/beQj4JSGP48/видео.html). The wood used was Pinus sylvestris which is the most common pine in Norway. The most resin-rich parts of the tree, also called "tyri" in Norwegian, are the roots. Also the stem might contain resin, which is concentrated in the heartwood when the pine gets old. Further, damage to the tree might cause the resin to flow and enrich the wood around the damaged parts. It is essential that the wood is carefully selected, both smell and appearance are criteria for selecting "tyri".

@matsopp thanks for the additional information.
I have been planting that pine on my farm for years, as well as the Norway spruce. Both trees grow very well in South Dakota.
