For the filo, I used to make something similar, adding crushed pistachio nuts and pre-soaked raisins. And if being checky a good splash of dark rum and a sprinkle of cane sugar.
I am loving Tom in the videos. There is a really fun dynamic going on and Barry always plays well off of other people. His vibe and energy are infectious. These are great and I hope we get more in the future
I like the cut of Tom's jib. I feel like the two of you together strikes a good balance between your signature style, and the vibe of having another person actively filming.
I'm loving the addition of Tom in your latest videos. You two have a great chemistry and ups the ante on the humor level (and he's cute to boot!). Looking forward to many more!!
Who is the new guy? Im liking the new style it adds a touch of class while keeping the classic fun that we are use to. Also someone gets to enjoy the delicious food.
I'm joining in with the crowd here, chiming in to say my mom and I have loved all of the videos with Tom! We always look forward to your uploads and have tried a bunch of your recipes over the years and Tom is just a great fit.
I love your most recent videos (at least as much as the rest of your videos if not more)! Your brother-in-law is a great video partner/helper! I hope he stays on board!
It is so nice having Tom's views on your creations. I agree with you fellows, the egg and avocado sandwich looks yummy and I'm going to try that one at home.
Loving the addition of Tom to these episodes! Great matchup, and convenient that he's your brother in law too! I will say, vocally Tom actually reminds me of Steve Mould a lot too.
Garlic butter crumpets in the air fryer is a great idea. I'm not sure why they need to be cut in half and sandwiched though. The integrity of a whole crumpet is probably less messy and will contain more of the delicious garlic butter
Loving your videos as always! Having Tom there to chatter with and assist the cooking is a nice addition. I'm a little surprised you haven't learned that if you quarter the avocado, you'll be able to remove the pit very easily with your fingers. Cheers!
I would love you to try putting crushed garlic and parsley in waffle batter then cook it in a waffle maker to see if it tastes like garlic bread? You and Tom make a great team and I can't wait to see more of these tik tok recipes and hacks.
not sure if youve already done a video on this but id love to see a video where you show us your favourite ways to cook potatoes as theyre so versatile
I think I prefer crumpet thins over the thicker ones now and I bet they'd been amazing given that cheesy garlic treatment. 😊 The feta dish looks good too.
I personally only use "Nielsen Massey Vanilla Bean Paste" and would never use anything else. I use to only get the McCormick's extract which was a liquid and this paste is 100% better.
@@mrbarrylewis I get the really big bottle for about $110/US. And I'm gonna try that Crispy Feta recipe. I always like trying something new and I've never had Feta or Guacamole... so should be interesting. : )
another thing you can do with condensed milk is a recipe for donair sauce. Just uses a can of it, plus some garlic powder and a little vinegar. The sauce is meant for Donairs (similar to gyros, but a little different). Also great addition drizzled on pizza (or for dipping)
I would put garlic butter and cheese in between each "sandwich" to really toast the garlic butter into both sides of the crumpets and then if you could severe it were someone can grab just one crumpet half if they don't want a full one and they don't take away the cheese and garlic butter from the crumpet that is left from the other half of their "sandwich"
Over in the U.S. I believe, a Crumpet is called an English Muffin ( see Thomas' Original English Muffins ).🤔 I hope this helps everyone with their ingredient shopping.
English muffins and crumpets are quite different -at least in Australia. Crumpets have loads of holes on their surface for butter to sink in. English muffins are more shaped like a burger bun in that you split them them in half and then toast each half. They have no holes, but are still delish.
They are two different things in the states too, except no one eats crumpets (so anime is a bit off.) A Brit in 1847 USA decided to flip a crumpet over halfway and make a selling point out of slicing them in half and filling the 'nooks and cranneys' now on the inside as if it was a full sized crumpet or a 2-for-1 idea. @@ByHerHand
Avocado seed trick, place the sliced avocado in yiur hand so that you have your thumb on the back middle of the avocado and your index and middle fingers against the flesh on either side of the seed. Press with your thumb until the seed pops out. The seed goes further than you expect😂
11:15 dont know what your nan was on lol, a pikelet is diferent to a crumpet, they are cooked in a similar way but a pikelet is softer and more like a pancake, often with raisins or currants.
I know there was a lot of negativity last time you brought some on, and I am so sorry for that. With that; I am really loving how these videos with Tom have been. Its still got the same good old homestyle feeling, but with a bit extra. Really loving it, and looking forward to seeing more.
I continue to absolutely love watching your videos, highly entertaining, Tom certainly brings a great new dynamic to it, i hope you haven't been receiving the hate messages like you did with the other guy, ( i thought his input was great too!)

Loved the vid Barry but just an FYI that filo dish could have done with a few more mins as the custard should set. It being that liquid I am not convinced it was hot enough to be safe to eat as a general rule 👍
I love how the straight guy (in comedy terms - not wanting to step on your love life, Barry) is so superfluous. Keep him!!! Edit: Sorry, his name is Tom! He adds nothing. It's hilarious. This schtick kills.
I’ve been complaining to my local Tesco for months that their garlic is ALWAYS mouldy and left on the shelf. It’s disgusting. They never do anything about it either :(

Loving the new duo with Tom, Barry. Feels like he's always been onboard ✌️😊

Love these videos with Tom, you complement each other nicely!
In the filo custard pie, you could add nutmeg, cinnamon, or spices and maybe cook to set a little bit longer and I bet it would e stonking!
I was thinking some cinnamon and apple in it might be good, could be too much water in the apples though.

Fab ideas in this one as always. Enjoying u having Tom onboard
The condensed milk filo thing I think would work wonders with some fruit on top for an added bit of freshness!
Can you do a crumpet series bloody love crumpets!
haha yes! I did do homemade ones but they can be used a lot of way I guess!
Garlic,garlic & more garlic 🧄 love it 🥰😋Thanks Barry n Tom 🤗
I made crumpets for the first time here just about a month ago . Not as hard to do as I thought and they were great with butter and jam .
Good tip for avocados, cut in half horizontallly and gently squeeze the stone iut.
More great recipes, they all looked good. Tom is a great addition to the channel and there's a good, relaxed, working vibe between the two of you.

The feta dish looks good too.
In Australia, a pikelet usually refers to a small pancake. I'd have them sometimes as a kid.
I am gonna have to try the garlic butter crumpets, they look amazing.
I haven't even tasted it, and I can already tell you it needs about 46 more cloves haha
I enjoyed the voiceover and live talking mix 👍
This new style is nice, it's equal parts "old barry" with some nice "new style" shots supplemented in
Cheers gonna keep playing around and experimenting a bit but no rush
Feta makes everything beta! Think I'd make the Filo Pie with less milk and another egg.

To explain what a crumpet is, it's like a sea sponge, but food... :P
didnt you do the accordion pastry one in a previous vid?
Something very similar yep it was a safe bet! Deffo no more garlic for a while though

No.
pikelets are slightly different, They are cooked with no yeast so come out flatter and are not traditionally perfect circles either
