    We have switched to olive oil mostly for frying, because it is healthier. We only use vegetable oil for baking cakes and cookies. Coconut oil and avocado oil is healthier too. Made french fries the other day. Cut up a few fries and soaked them in cold water a few hours. Rinsed the starch off a few times. Dried them, drizzled them lightly with olive oil and put in a few spices and stirred them. Then put them in the airfryer. They were so good. Still carbs, but a few of them were so good.

      We have been manipulated for so long. No one really knows what to eat anymore. What we've been told was healthy is not. I hope RFKjr can do something and come up with better guidelines and get rid of all the chemicals and additives. Not many of us have the money to buy everything organic.

    • @jenniferlowery6586
      @jenniferlowery6586 8 дней назад

      @nancybrewer8494 I spent a small Fortune buying some organic produce at Aldi. You have to be upper middle class to shop at whole foods their prices are crazy! The problem is food is so personal in regards to finance, health, availability and selection. I think it starts with what's subsidized for our public schools the various social programs our prisons. I'm sure the private schools and boarding schools have better food offerings. I believe that the quality of food you can afford dictates your health along with the knowledge or lack of. When I was growing up it was the food pyramid with carbs making the foundation at 8-11 servings a day. Now we have food isles that when we walk down is nothing but subsidized sugar, grains bad oils, and flour n salt all in different varieties with added junk to make it taste like something it's not. Oil salt sugar carbs perfect storm for cravings and food addiction.

    most times it would be correct to assume bigger quantities would be cheaper in bulk but not always. you mentioned about kinder spices and mentioned about buying the bigger one for the value to save or something on that order but that is a mistake. i took the prices right off the video and the small steakhouse blend breaks down to 77.6 per oz but the bigger one breaks down to 80.3 so it is a better buy with the smaller one. same with the other flavor of buttery steakhouse, small is 84.3 but the big is 90.5 so it is a better buy getting the smaller one. those are the ones i saw in both sizes in the video. better buy on kinder spice is the buttery steakhouse is at sam's for .58 per oz.
    quite a few just look at the price tag in yellow but i shop by the price tag part that is in orange to decide if i am buying the small one or the big one. just need to make sure the price in orange is in the same size/weight as the others you are comparing it to.
    i know when me and the wife got together 30 some years ago she asked me one day while shopping she thought i brought soda by the 24 pack but i picked up 2-12 packs instead and i told her this week it is cheaper to buy the 2 -12 pack instead of the 24 pack. some weeks it is reverse and you need to constantly pay attention versus just grabbing the same thing weekly/monthly or however often you do.

    Why are eggs STILL so expensive? Thought they were suppose to drop after the election 🤔

      That was just to get votes... sad so many based their vote according to the price of eggs.

    Walmart is still the greatest overall value. I play the coupon game with Albertsons, and it can be a deal, but pretty much Walmart always wins. Heck, it's worth it just for the colored pepper three pack!

    I was grocery shopping at Kroger today. There was no shortage on eggs. Kroger eggs are $4.49 today. I'm always looking for half the caffeine for Keurig coffee maker. I found them at Wal-Mart one week but not the next. I use the reusable k-cups now. Wal-Mart has the reusable k-cups. It is a lot cheaper using my own coffee.

    I went to Walmart 29:41 our prices seem to be the same as yours.
    If uou like spicy food, on your next trip (or Kroger), check out Campbell's new "Spicy" line. Spicy Buffalo-Style Cream of Chicken, Nacho Cheese, Tomato, and Chicken Noodle were the ones that I saw. I bought a can of the Cream of Chicken to see if I like it. I'm going to use it in my Chicken Spaghetti the next time I make it.

    I’m going to keep (and photograph) my grocery receipt (the inks fade quickly) this week. I will compare it to March 1st, April 1st, etc. I’m curious to see if the tariffs will trickle down to little ol’ me.
