Once I saw Nachtflugel it was an intense click. This performance did not disappoint and coming from who has personally recorded this piece I know the difficulty of this masterpiece. Well done!
What a performance! Super impressed with your take on this one. In the end, I think I agree with you that Nacht is a little too unpredictable in its structure to have as much lasting influence as a Vector to the Heavens or The Other Promise, etc. Still, your harmony alterations and arpeggiations sold the ending so well (nice Darkness of the Unknown incorporation hah).
Hopefully I don't come off as not liking it, hmm it definitely has some good ideas, I just wish Yoko woulda stuck to some of the ideas longer in the ost somehow. Yeah I've been playing some Darkness of the Unknown recently xD
something just sounds really off on this arrangement. theres parts that speed up and slow down really dramatically and thats not really how the song sounds. was this played without having sheet music before?
Hm yeah I hear that, it might be too much rubato. No I don't use sheets, I transcribe the ost then just improvise and decide which notes/phrasing in the moment, since you learn more about music this way. I guess brain is too slow. Thanks
@@dreadjoker10 i still give you credit though for not using sheet music thats good that you played this by improvising and playing by ear. how long have you taken lessons for?
@@bugwrld it's useful the feedback tho, I can improve on that. Uh lessons, um maybe 3 years? was a long time ago. I've been playing awhile. It's a great keyboard, one of the best if you gotta move often c: p515 gang!
I’m not sure what VRM is but I don’t mess with thing like EQ, whether on audio interface or the keyboard itself. Only settings I had to change were under ‘piano room’ button, lid position=full, Reverb=Concert, Reverb Depth=45. Dunno if that helps :? Oh and white noise reduction on audacity, post-record. I’m bad at this stuff, apologies! there must be channels about it.
@@dreadjoker10 Thank you for the response. VRM is Virtual Resonance Modeling. It allows you to alter the piano as far as brightness, body resonance, aliquot resonance, string resonance. It's pretty cool. I like using the high string Resonance for FF14 songs. I'm practicing I Am the Sea from FF14 and the settings help it come closer to sounding like the piano collections track. Someone released a transcription from the piano collections version if you are interested.

I second this (as someone who has also covered this piece).
probably the most criminally underrated pianist on this website, excellent work as usual!!

Very nice dramatisation of the piece, I like your interpretation of an already amazing song!
Wonderful playing! I also loved the slight darkness of the unknown bit at the end
Bravo!!
I love this song so much!
You've really nailed this cover! 👏
Two of my favorite pieces from Kingdom Hearts in one day! Beautiful work brother, sincerely.
Wow I'm surprised I never saw this and it's been almost a year
You're on fire today!! Very cool
This was epic! Gj
Bro I listen to nachtflugel every day.
simply epic
How to know if the Nachtflugel Piano Cover is good?
If the pianist nails the first 5 seconds.
sheet music please? this is amazing
Those runs are insanely smooth! I also generally prefer more dance-like/rhythmic boss themes but I loved listening to this arrangement

Can you please share your settings for the VRM and EQ ect. I'm trying to get my P515 to record well. Thanks.
