Thanks y'all! I've been learning some judo throws and aikido throws to compliment kenjutsu. We use these when doing a knife disarm drill. It gives another avenue of attack, aside striking, krav, or submission. You'd be surprised how messy it can get when not doing routines (we do mostly sparring). There can be many openings for throws. The opponent can often be so distracted trying to mantain a handle on the knife, that they don't realize they're in a bad position for a trip or throw.
