Killing her clan members in the previous games was excusable as she woken up, and went into delusion that made her see everyone as Sub Zero, clarifying that she went insane somehow, but in MK11, she has no excuse, she knows what she's doing. Frost has no empathy, she even admitted about killing her Mother as a child, so she has no value in family, not even friendship, she shows disdain and contempt towards literally everybody, it's only power and entitlement that drive her actions, her cybernetic form is a reflection of her soulless personality. Kuai Liang made a mistake in having her join the clan, he should have examined her more closely, to see if she was worthy or not, regardless of her ice magic. I guess Sub Zero learns from this mistake, when he told Scarlett that she wasn't worthy, who is also very obviously not worthy. Not because she's female like Frost, but is just as psycho, just as much as a Karen. Heck, Kaui Liang literally said he was proud of her, right before she betrayed him, showing that she never wanted to be equals or even be a companion with her Master, she saw an obstacle, nothing more. This wouldn't be an issue with me, if Frost's character is explained a bit more, not just having her be so one-dimensional, and just being a bitch for no reason, but sometimes some people act like that for no reason. Even with Sindel being retconned into being a gold digging, power-hungry thot, when Sindel kills her husband to be with a stronger man, which screws with the lore by a mega ton, it's not that far from reality, because some people really don't give a crap about you, they just pretend, just caring about what you have, and what you can give them, until your no longer useful to them, reality's stranger than fiction, and it's messed up.
Hopefully we get some insiders of the new timeline that Liu Kang created with Kitana Kahn, and in that timeline hopefully Frost is the image of what Sub Zero wants from her, and that’s wisdom, judgement, and responsibility
Sub-zero is now one of my favorite characters. I never realized how much grace he has. Despite the awful things he has been through, and the terrible things people have done to him, he just gets back up and tries... so hard to forgive them and respect them.
Frost is one of those wasted plotential characters, I think - the narrative would have been a lot more compelling with a few small changes. Pretty much everything here can stay the same, just with slightly different context - the Lin Quei is the only home Frost has ever known, and Sub Zero is the closest thing she has to a father. Her initial actions come because she wants to protect them both - but does so by recklessly grabbing a power she couldn't hope to control, and then being corrupted by it. Sub Zero imprisons her and manages to siphon off some of the effects of that power, but she's still in a state where he starts to seem like an enemy to her and her desire to protect the Lin Quei turns into a desire to control it - which is then reinforced when Sub-Zero makes peace with Scorpion. Everything after that, she does because she thinks it'll make the Lin Quei better and stronger. It'd be a hell of a lot more interesting than "I want to seize power because... Iunno, someone's gotta"
The difference between kung Lao and Frost is kung Lao actually decided to finish his training. Frost quit not even half way through and kept looking for easy ways to get stronger. Which is why she has always lost

@@ryanm.8720 Yeah, if Frost truly cared for the Lin Kuei, she wouldn't have subjected them into the cyber initiative against their will, and taken their ability to choose away entirely.
Killing her clan members in the previous games was excusable as she woken up, and went into delusion that made her see everyone as Sub Zero, clarifying that she went insane somehow, but in MK11, she has no excuse, she knows what she's doing.
Frost has no empathy, she even admitted about killing her Mother as a child, so she has no value in family, not even friendship, she shows disdain and contempt towards literally everybody, it's only power and entitlement that drive her actions, her cybernetic form is a reflection of her soulless personality.
Kuai Liang made a mistake in having her join the clan, he should have examined her more closely, to see if she was worthy or not, regardless of her ice magic.
I guess Sub Zero learns from this mistake, when he told Scarlett that she wasn't worthy, who is also very obviously not worthy. Not because she's female like Frost, but is just as psycho, just as much as a Karen.
Heck, Kaui Liang literally said he was proud of her, right before she betrayed him, showing that she never wanted to be equals or even be a companion with her Master, she saw an obstacle, nothing more.
This wouldn't be an issue with me, if Frost's character is explained a bit more, not just having her be so one-dimensional, and just being a bitch for no reason, but sometimes some people act like that for no reason. Even with Sindel being retconned into being a gold digging, power-hungry thot, when Sindel kills her husband to be with a stronger man, which screws with the lore by a mega ton, it's not that far from reality, because some people really don't give a crap about you, they just pretend, just caring about what you have, and what you can give them, until your no longer useful to them, reality's stranger than fiction, and it's messed up.

Sub-zero is now one of my favorite characters. I never realized how much grace he has. Despite the awful things he has been through, and the terrible things people have done to him, he just gets back up and tries... so hard to forgive them and respect them.
For an ice queen Frost is such a hothead.

Frost is one of those wasted plotential characters, I think - the narrative would have been a lot more compelling with a few small changes. Pretty much everything here can stay the same, just with slightly different context - the Lin Quei is the only home Frost has ever known, and Sub Zero is the closest thing she has to a father. Her initial actions come because she wants to protect them both - but does so by recklessly grabbing a power she couldn't hope to control, and then being corrupted by it. Sub Zero imprisons her and manages to siphon off some of the effects of that power, but she's still in a state where he starts to seem like an enemy to her and her desire to protect the Lin Quei turns into a desire to control it - which is then reinforced when Sub-Zero makes peace with Scorpion. Everything after that, she does because she thinks it'll make the Lin Quei better and stronger.
It'd be a hell of a lot more interesting than "I want to seize power because... Iunno, someone's gotta"

Yep! All of that speeches about Sub-Zero 'abandoning her' and siding with the (reformed) Shirai Ryu is just an excuse for her to deem Sub-Zero as corrupt so she could try to usurp him. Ironically, even if Frost was right about Sub-Zero corrupting the Lin Kuei, Frost kidnapping her former allies with the intent of cyberizing them was the most cowardly act she could commit.
