    Awesome project, can’t wait to see it finished! Also I felt the pain on the printer, fix one part for another to come up and then have to wait for parts, and very viscous cycle.

    Watching him try to cold pull that blob off his extruder was emotionally scarring.

      I'm keeping the solid blob of pla as a desk ornament. And as a reminder... 🤦‍♂️

    Just found your channel. Really like what you're doing - keep it up!
    I always wanted to try to run a channel like yours, it's good inspiration. 😎

      You should totally do a channel of your own. I'd love to see your projects

      In this case, the first few layers were just fine. I think the issue happened quite a bit later on after I had gone to sleep

    if you'd solved it like I did when I was a kid you'd need to build a robot to remove the stickers and put them back on in the right places.

    Love this! Can't wait to see the end. I love your videos. I am curious, why didn't you consider using stepper motors rather than dc?

    • @bytesizedengineering
      @bytesizedengineering  2 года назад

      Thanks Taylor! Stepper motors could have been a good option. The one thing I was worried about with stepper motors was losing steps. You can send a specific number of steps to control the output, but if things somehow get out of sync, there's no way of knowing. Using an encoder gives you more confidence in the absolute position. I do have some of those little stepper motors that are geared which would help out with not losing steps because they have way more torque. If this doesn't work I may have to switch tactics and try stepper motors
