I'm almost 76. We got our first TV when I was in 2nd grade. It was black and white. I don't remember when we got a color TV but I remember the first color TV I saw. I was spending a week with my grandparents and we went to one of their friend's house and watch Lawrence Welk in color. The man owned a TV store.
I was born in 1949. We had a TV, but not color. Had 3 channels, rabbit ears and aluminum foil. I have the TV we had n the 50s, it was also black and white. Still has the original insides to it. I miss my childhood. Those were the good old days. Hugs
The tags and pockets are beautiful. We had a tv when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Big black and white 3 channels maybe and it cut off at mid nite. I also remember the party lines on those rotary phones . Lol I am that old! 😂🙏🏻💖🦋
Love those tags Miss E! When I was very young we had b/w tv. I remember I was fascinated with watching the dot shrink till you couldn’t see it anymore when they went off the air!! I’m really dating myself! 😂 somewhere along the line we got a color tv. We thought we were really something then!! Lol
Love these tags. We didn’t have colour tv, we had no bath as we had an outside toilet which was shared by our neighbour!!! Newspaper print on our bums was not fun 😂. I got bathed in a plastic bath in front of the coal fire. Our house was a miners house as dad worked down the pit, it was 1 bedroom house which I shared with my parents. Ahh those were the days 😊
I have a Wonderful neighbor that mowed my front yard today...in Oklahoma we have had so much rain it's ridiculous....we get someone to mow for money..here comes the rain..last time mowed was May and it's july...bless our neighbor and all the neighbors that help us old people......love the tags today Me E........
Being 60 years old I don't remember black and white except rerun shows like Hogan's Heros and I love Lucy. I'm sure there were others but I don't remember. I love this project E, they are beautiful.
We didn’t have TV until I was about 12, and it was the first color TV in our neighborhood. All our relatives came to watch on Saturday night. We had three channels that went off at midnight with, “It is twelve o’clock do you know where your children are?” The the National Anthem played. Beautiful tags.
Love the way you just put together those tags, when growing up we never had a tv until I was in eight grade, times have changed, till nx time, enjoy life.
We got our first color tv when I was 7/8 years old (1963 or so and very few tv shows were in color). Probably only because my mom worked in the catalog dept. of Montgomery Wards and got a huge discount. Same with our dishwasher. We still used time cards when I retired a year and half ago. Our office manager was always fussing with that thing. Most the time I use a thin cardboard to back my tags. This old girl is always learning, especially from you. And I thank you 😊😊😊.
Been thinking of you and your coughing that you mentioned in an earlier video.... could be from the wildfires in Canada. We live more north and the air quality was horrid. Many had similar symptoms ; coughing, raspy voice etc. Did not know if you folks were impacted. Our air was very bad for several days. Hope you are feeling better. :)
I just love you Edith! You bring so much joy in your videos. We didn't have color tv for a long time either. I believe it was 7th grade when color tv came out but we didn't have one right away! These papers are beautiful.
We didn't have color TV growing up we had a rental TV you had to put quarters in to watch, we also had a rental phone you had to put in a quarter to use and the rental man came by weekly to collect from the coin box. Love the tags Ms E 😊❤
No color tv. We live heck west and crooked so sometimes there was no tv signal at all. I learned the national anthem from the test pattern sign off. Yep, old as dirt. Our neighbors had a tv with a round screen about 8 inch diameter.
I think that we are about the same age. So, yes black & white TV. We also had to rely on a weekly TV Guide. No scrolling though the menu on the TV. We had 3 channels, 4 if you counted the channel on VHF. It was a simpler time. We remembered phone numbers and either talked to someone in person or on the phone. I remember time cards. We would all line up to punch in. You couldn't punch in early and was in trouble if you punched in late. My last job, had me working in people's home. I would go and help do chores or what was needed so they could stay in their home. I had to use a smartphone to call a number, put in my employee number. They knew by the GPS where I was. The time I got there and the time I left.
I don’t believe we had color TV till we moved into town after I graduated from H.S. Up until then we only had 3 channels, and every once in a while my dad would have to go up on the roof to turn the antenna.
I was born in 75, we had color tv but no remote, I was the youngest, and I had to get up and change the channels. We had like four channels when the president was on, He was on every channel so we missed whatever we were watching. all we had was an antenna out on the roof and aluminum foil inside on the rabbit ears, and if the antenna outside got turned du we to a storm, daddy had to go out and climb on the roof and fix it.
Good afternoon Edith, love your timecard, tags. Hope your weekend is going well. It's hot again, here in north Idaho. We are supposed to get storms, next week. Stay safe 😊
i was raised by my great aunts, aunt Georgie was asked if she was going to buy one of them new fangled tv's, she replied, not till they come out in color. why that cant happen you cant run colors through a wire. so the day the first ad for a color tv came out she went and got the biggest most expensive console tv she could find... black and white of course. wasn't until i got married in 1978 that she finally got a color tv and that's only because the repair man couldn't find the tubes for the old one anymore.

I like these tags and I love the papers. I think my parents got color TV after I was married.
What is the source of the paper you used in the tag you started at the 10:39 mark? I love it!
I like stronger tags also 😊

E, I can't find the video where you made the tall things you're putting the tall tags in. Don't know what they're 🤔 called.
