Girl, you call those artful wig creations "throw away" ... But you should try auctioning them off! Get people to buy them and pay for postage too, I bet there'd be plenty of people here that works happily buy the wigs you make on camera (esp if you're not gonna keep them) ❤️
I'm planning on being Juno Birch for Halloween and this Coke bottle maneuver is INSPIRED, thank you my queen! The wig is stunning on you but if you remake it you should definitely use a longer piece for the top so it hits lower (more screen accurate and flattering)
O.M.G i was JUST watching Mars Attacks and searching youtube for a tutorial on THIS look and thinking "I can't believe wig queen Jaymes hasn't done this yet 😫" AND HERE IT IS! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Lisa Marie talking about Mars Attacks and the hair: "I loved working on that, that was fun. I have a scar from the wig!" she reveals in a candid chat. "I got a hole in my head from that damn wig! It's always worth it, no complaints. Whatever it takes, just to get that picture." Marie added that she had to be "sewn into the dress" and couldn't sit (or go to the restroom!) during shooting. As for the memorable hair piece, she calls it "torture." "This hair designer did the wig. It was two wigs, real Polish hair, so the weight of it and then my own hair pinned down to a wig cap, it was instant torture and there was nothing you can do," she says. "You just have to f**king zen out!"
Raise our rat tail combs to honour Jaymes for yet another entertaining and educational video-- Jaymes seems to know a lot of juicy details. Now, I am dying to see that movie !
Wikipedia says Colleen Atwoood's inspos for the martian girl were: the playing cards, Marilyn Monroe, the work of Alberto Vargas and Jane Fonda in Barbarella. When it said "the playing cards" I'm not sure if they meant actual playing cards or the original Topps Mars attacks trading cards
This is the video that I've been waiting for. Mars Attacks is ICONIC and I'm living for the fantasy. One of my favorite references is the female alien scene from that movie. Incredible.
Amazing!! I am doing a similar technique with a bottle. Purchased pink braiding hair and some crochet wig caps. Making a Poppy Troll Wig for my granddaughter. I wanted a durable base (for repeated dress up play) so I sewed the bottle on the wig cap. I slipped a crochet wig cap over the bottle so I could attach hair over the bottle.
omg i’m so glad you fid this video!! this lady is basically the only thing i remember from that movie! she was amazing. might have to do this for halloween
Okay but like, rambling about Hollywood people is why I subscribed so fast and love every update. I live for all the film historical gossip and history ❤️
Jaymes, you killed it! Man, I loved this scene as a kid! She looked and moved so otherworldly. I always wondered if she was rolling around on something, or if that was just her own gracefully weird movements.
I always enjoy watching your videos, Jaymes! You're such a talented artist, and I appreciate getting to learn a little along the way. Keep up the excellent work!
Been looking forward to watching this since I saw the notification at lunchtime 😀 You can't beat settling down to a bit of Jaymes while you have dinner and chilling after a crappy day. Thank you Jaymes 😊 ❤ xx
When I was in 3rd grade my teacher had beautiful dark brown indigenous hair that would nearly tough her lower back. For Halloween she did the 2 liter bottle on top with her hair pulled up and I thought she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Thanks so much for this super fun and extra helpful video tutorial. Have loved watching and this was so informative. Bout to rock that spy girl wig tomorrow!
Loved this. Really surprised and impressed with just how well a coke (uh..."two-liter") bottle worked! Also, gonna go watch Mars Attacks rn! Not seen it since I was a kid.
I loved this movie but I cried as a kid when they "killed Cruella" (Glenn Close's character) because she was my favorite Disney villain - which is weird because I ADORE dogs. Definitely not throwaway wigs - you could absolutely auction them - and if you ever want a more permanent solution for getting the hair to stay in the bottle as you're working and to provide a nice base- try gluing a very thin layer of the hair to the bottle with Aleene's clear craft tacky glue. And hot glue a bit on the inside :)
I never styled a wig, but I did some cosplays in my life. I feel like I'm discovering wigs again and learning so much trough your channel. I love your videos, I find them very soothing
Jaymes: just watched the movie ‘Volcano’. When Tommy Lee was testing to make us get away, an advertising board falls in front of him.... it looks like You !!! Girl, you are just every where
This wig is actually on display at Warner Bros in Hollywood....I am not sure if it is the original, but it shows that it was foam with hair glued to the outside....you can tell when you see it close up on the tour and I have a couple pics of it somewhere. Love that movie and it is on NETFLIX right now :)
So, the reference for the hair was obviously every beehive hairdo, but also designed by Burton to accommodate the alien head. Pretty much from head to toe, it's his design. I think how the costumers & wigmakers translated those designs is pretty amazing.
How did you not love this from the very beginning!? I've wanted this wig FOREVER! I'd probably wear it in every show for a year!! LOL Perhaps I will try to recreate this at some point, but my teasing and smoothing skills are still not on point...
I don't know if anyone already pointed out that if it seemed like it was the 60's in MArs Attacks, don't forget the 60's came back big time in the 90's!!! omg. am I so old
Someone already said it but you should recreate Jessie from Team Rocket (Pokémon) wig. That would be super fun to see.
omg yes
OMG STUNNING IDEA
Yes!
Holy crap YES!

It's a great idea. I know a lot of JM fans that would bid for them.
Same I would buy them too
Same...I have been looking for this wig for 2 years! The I came across your stacked wig tutorial...and now this one! Thank yooouuu
The Jaymes Mansfield wig styling boustier is my favorite supporting character
The slide walk Lisa did while portraying an alien was so good. The swaying arms, the intense gum chewing. So good!
I'm planning on being Juno Birch for Halloween and this Coke bottle maneuver is INSPIRED, thank you my queen! The wig is stunning on you but if you remake it you should definitely use a longer piece for the top so it hits lower (more screen accurate and flattering)
Stunning. Yes it is.
I love Juno she is everything!!! 😭😭😭😭
Yes, that's happening
That’s going to be great!
O.M.G i was JUST watching Mars Attacks and searching youtube for a tutorial on THIS look and thinking "I can't believe wig queen Jaymes hasn't done this yet 😫" AND HERE IT IS! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
My mom’s being the Martian Girl this year, and I'm on costume duty 😅
I literally just introduced this movie to my boyfriend this weekend, how serendipitous!
Yes! Educate the children
Such a fabulous tutorial! I just love your wig styling apron too! 😍

I followed this tutorial and one came out pretty decent! People asked me where I ordered it!! Thank you!
Why is it that when Jaymes squeal’s I can only think someone stepped on a chihuahua lol

119th .....Its Jaymes Mansfield..The One, the ONLY, ...."WIG WHISPERER" !!! MWAHAAA! xo

Ah imdb says martian girl came from the 1994 reboot of the Mars attacks trading cards.
This is the video that I've been waiting for. Mars Attacks is ICONIC and I'm living for the fantasy. One of my favorite references is the female alien scene from that movie. Incredible.
Juno birch would love this wig it's stoonin
Yes it is
Pop bottle as a wig cage - inspired! You absolutely slayed it!
The final result is so fierce! I want one in black
Yes!, I've been dreaming of this recreation .Thanks Jaymes for making another dream tutorial come true!
She was the mom of Johnny Depp's Ichabod in "Sleepy Hollow"
Yep, that's where my mind went first. Falling out of the iron maiden with the blood pouring out was super memorable.
You are truly a delight. I seen someone comment this tutorial as a suggestion not too long ago and now here it is. I Stan!

Love this recreation!!! I'm not a huge Mars Attacks fan either but I do enjoy this wig and you did an incredible job with that soda bottle!
omg i’m so glad you fid this video!! this lady is basically the only thing i remember from that movie! she was amazing. might have to do this for halloween
Hunaaayyyy! This turned out so cute!! 🤩
I love watching Mars Attacks to remember the old Vegas, lol. Glenn Close and Mrs. Beatty were so funny 🤣
Hi Jaymes! Love you! Love your channel. Thank you for feeding us as often as you do!
I was in grade school when Mars attacks came out. I can remember being terrified of those aliens but loving the alien girl. She was such a mood
I was just starting to crave me some "Miss Mansfield" flavor in my life.
i was thinking the same thing!
@@STKTSTKT i feel like i'm slowly and unapologetically falling in love with this channel more and more.
Okay but like, rambling about Hollywood people is why I subscribed so fast and love every update. I live for all the film historical gossip and history ❤️

THANK YOU! I've been wanting to do this character for Halloween but couldn't find any tutorials, and then like magic, you release this video!
Been looking forward to watching this since I saw the notification at lunchtime 😀 You can't beat settling down to a bit of Jaymes while you have dinner and chilling after a crappy day. Thank you Jaymes 😊 ❤ xx
I love this movie and I love this wig and I love Jaymes Mansfield
When I was in 3rd grade my teacher had beautiful dark brown indigenous hair that would nearly tough her lower back. For Halloween she did the 2 liter bottle on top with her hair pulled up and I thought she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
You should have linked the wig you bought on Amazon in the description!!! I am trying to find the best Amazon blonde wig and that one looks great!
Juno Birch left the room
I find it funny that you remember the science project in elementary school and all I could think about was a gravity bong
Thanks so much for this super fun and extra helpful video tutorial. Have loved watching and this was so informative. Bout to rock that spy girl wig tomorrow!
Yesssss I was waiting for this one for so long!!!!!
Loved this. Really surprised and impressed with just how well a coke (uh..."two-liter") bottle worked! Also, gonna go watch Mars Attacks rn! Not seen it since I was a kid.
I loved this. The alien noise used to be my text tone. Lol
I loved this movie but I cried as a kid when they "killed Cruella" (Glenn Close's character) because she was my favorite Disney villain - which is weird because I ADORE dogs.

Yaaaasss I love this! Mars Attacks is so underrated
One of my favorites
How fun!
Love that you covered the label even though it's obvious what soda it is lol
Isn't that crazy that companies have done that to us.
I never styled a wig, but I did some cosplays in my life. I feel like I'm discovering wigs again and learning so much trough your channel. I love your videos, I find them very soothing
I have done with with my daughter's hair and a 20oz bottle for Cindy Lou-Who; this really kicks it up a few levels.
I love how you read my mind because I'm too lazy to even want to build a wig cage & I have always wanted to recreate this look as a costume. 🤗👽💖
I live for all your videos, even the throw away ones! You’re so witty
Thank you for this tutorial! I made my 2 parts wig and this was soooo helpful, you are amazing gurl!
Jaymes: just watched the movie ‘Volcano’. When Tommy Lee was testing to make us get away, an advertising board falls in front of him.... it looks like You !!! Girl, you are just every where
the music right off the bat was making my heart race
The Jaymes Mansfield/Juno Birch collab we’ve all been waiting for
This wig is actually on display at Warner Bros in Hollywood....I am not sure if it is the original, but it shows that it was foam with hair glued to the outside....you can tell when you see it close up on the tour and I have a couple pics of it somewhere. Love that movie and it is on NETFLIX right now :)
I should say....that Jaymes....is so amazingly talented....she was able to do it without the foam and all hair!!!!
Perfect for the season!
would be super cute for you to do halloween episodes and wigs for juno birch and liquorice black. they say nice things about you.

You are amazing! Thank you for your knowledge! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰👽👽👽
Literally perfect

When you were showing the first wig all teased up I got trolls vibes 🤣
Lisa Marie also did some songs with Malcolm McLaren (the guy who created/appropriated punk).
For instance the classic "Something Jumping In My Shirt"
loves it!!!
Fab!! 👽💄✨
it's not quite as long as the character's hair, but it's a brilliant creation! lovin' the 2liter bottle, work it you crafty gal!!! :^D
Amazing, as usual 🤩
I watched the movie yesterday just so I could watch this video!!!!
This reminds me of the rapunzel from shred the one that was really bald and had the pointed hair updo
I LOVE the wig
8:30 someone PLEASE tell me why I thought of those knock off Trixie wigs
I don't know if anyone already pointed out that if it seemed like it was the 60's in MArs Attacks, don't forget the 60's came back big time in the 90's!!! omg. am I so old
