Think the main issue is, boybands and ex boyband members from the nineties are really irrelevant in 2025...The whole genre was geared towards teen girls and it was all about image over substance... It's not like more classic genres like rock from the sixties, seventies and nineties, that bands today are influenced by...As Noel Gallagher from Oasis said, he was seen as the "fat dancer out of Take That." The teen girl audience from nineties boybands have largely moved on to other things...
I'm British so let me lay it on the line Robbie Williams let's just say he's a guy that's up his own back side if he's a guest on a tv show he'll make the show revolves around him calling himself a world wide rock star! please the fact that America doesn't know who he is says it all. He started off in a Boy Band called Take That but his ego got the better of him so he quit and went solo he's a middle of the road singer at best just a self absorbed Ego I've no idea why this film even exists!
It may be worth noting that Robbie Williams isnt mentally well. It's thought he has bi polar disorder there is a video of him manically singing one of his greatest hits while his wife is in oblivious serious pain and distress giving birth to their child. I think you can genuinely see the worry about his mental state in her eyes. People have pushed him towards help I don't think he wants it. Putting 100m in to this film was insane
Wario drip. Wario drip. Great video, btw. Love it when you drop. Edit: I noticed that you have a Banjo plushie and a Crayon Shin-Chan pic in the background, lol.
First Piece by Piece and now this. Honestly, if you’re gonna make flop-worthy biopics of living people, I say at least make them unique like these movies.
i saw the trailer for this in theatres a few times and each time i thought it was such a weird (not in a good way) concept. granted, i am american, so i had never heard or robbie williams until that trailer… but even then, robbie being played by a monkey and NOBODY ELSE being an animal just felt corny. im also a bit burnt out on celebrity biopics in general. i am DESPERATE for a good and original idea. anyways, great video! subbed :)
I was hoping for a video that would actually take the time to delve into the movie and go deeper than the very boring, tired surface level jokes that had already run their course on Twitter, and i was honestly a bit sad you didnt even watch the movie to form your own opinion on it. Just wish there was something that wasnt just "lets keep laughing at funny movie idea"
Go watch the movie, make a video taking the time to delve and go deeper -problem solved. If no one is making the content you want to see, then go make the content you want to see. You don't need Bradley Smith to tell you what your opinion should be, form your own.
This is the second time we have had a Huge Flop movie about a Monkey the other one is the really weird Monkey Bone by the person who aninmated Nightmare before Christmas. Also the name is the exact same as a Anime series instead of calling it Millenium/Angels so after a song he is known for instead.
The CGI monkey was fine. No one cares he's a CGI monkey, and just having it be a CGI monkey in a world where no one acknowledges it and it's just completely normal that an animal exists and talks and acts human (see Stuart Little) is perfectly fine. But no one knows who the hell he is, as you said. Hell, I never even saw this movie advertised AT ALL online until after it was out, and only because people were laughing at it bombing at the box office. Not even because it was bad, it apparently wasn't (and not just because lol "critics" say so), but just because of the abysmal numbers and how like, zero market research was done before the movie was made. You'd think they'd like... Poll the US audience, etc. beforehand and be like, "Do you know who the MUSICIAN Robbie Williams is? NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE DECEASED LEGENDARY ACTOR, ROBIN WILLIAMS." But okay.
I won't lie I thought it would've been a hit movie just because of how weird it is Like one of those movies you think initially "there's no way this movie is gonna be a hit it's too weird" then it just randomly makes a billion or something at the box office
Speak now. Start I remember seeing this video I mean seeing as an ad and skipping over it and see the monkey and I was like oh man they made a movie about a monkey there's a rockstar that's going to be hilarious and no he's not actually a real monkey allegory and then I was disappointed
youre funny :) and youre fair i originally wanted this to be about robin williams as a monkey but then i found this video and realized its someone ive not heard of no shade robbie williams > -
Well most other countries don't know wtf Richard Simmons is but apparently he's getting a biopic. Guess what America, sometimes stuff isn't made for you.
I saw this trailer at the cinema and was like wth!? I've never personally been a fan of RW or Take That, but pretty much all of my friends back in the day loved him, and I've not seen a single one of them even mention this film, never mind excited to go see it. I mean, he was *massive* in the 90's/00's in the UK, but not now! I was a bit gutted to see two British comedy legends in this too, and generally I'll watch everything they're in, but not this.
It's funny the trailer portrays him as this hardcore rockstar when the music he makes is music you would hear at a shopping mall Sears
AND people online defending him saying he's super popular, but if that were true why did it flop so hard
I want a movie about a monkey rock star. Not a biopic about a guy who they made look like a monkey.
100% what I thought it was at first.
Wait, so this guy is still alive and young enough to play himself? Then he shouldn't have a movie made about him yet.

I would’ve portrayed myself as a raptor
I’ll take me but I’m a pirate for no reason.
Id be a 50 ft cyclops.
Velocipastor ftw

I also thought Robbie Williams was Robin Williams. I'm not sure who this movie was really for.
Wow not knowing who Robbie Williams is is wild
@@jupitermichaelsare you being sarcastic? I dont know who robbie Williams is either.
@ how?! He had a handful of hits in the US…. that’s actually wild to me
@@jupitermichaels nobody knows who he is in the US lmao
@ or people who weren’t paying attention in the early 2000s 🤷♂️
First Piece by Piece and now this. Honestly, if you’re gonna make flop-worthy biopics of living people, I say at least make them unique like these movies.
3:20 Put some respect on Raffi's name! That's who we should be getting a silly biopic about.
A film about Raffi would be great, I didn’t know I needed that
TBH if they made it a music biopic about Eddie Vedder called “Better Man”, more people would have probably been more interested.

Love the Banjo Kazooie music! Thanks for the review, I definitely do not want to watch this even more now.

This movie looked so trbl. From the first ad i saw it immediatly annoyed me

I feel like the problem with this film is people just don't care about it. Its some random singer who clearly doesn't have any cultural impact at all
This movie was actually good as fuck. Watch it first lol
Kinda weird when I saw a clip and thought it looks cool (probably failed bc of the cgi monkey)
Speak now.

Then don't annoy us with it then
And it flopped, so how did that go for ya?
