"Protecting the land" doesn't mean much when the land is a monocultural sprawl where biodiversity goes to die. What they are really protecting is their over-extended way of life, which is precisely the problem.
@12:00 she doesn't realize the farmers are the ones letting all this happen. They make more money off of solar panels and wind turbines than they do crops. If you don't want things built in your backyard buy a bigger backyard.
Seriously. And the way she talks about what someone else is doing on their own property at around 11 mins it seems that she feels she has some right to the airspace over someone else's property. And maybe she does maybe she doesn't above a certain altitude. But the sensible thing to me if you're worried about what's happening at the end of your airstrip seems to be buy enough property past the end of the strip for it not to be a problem
Maybe all would be better off if we let go of the grid and did power locally, if not individually. Fewer outages too. Skip connectivity. Of course, power companies would no longer exist - less control of us so less getting rich off of us.
85 to 95 percent of the cost of water is the electricity used for pumping. As Texas depends more on wind and solar the cost of electricity could drive the cost of basic residential water service to beyond $200 a month. This will impact low Income households the most.
Remember when diesel was the “next big thing” to fix the environment? History is repeating itself and people are just as arrogant about Ćlean energy as they were about diesel.
@@JamesR1986 Being arrogant and forcing a "researched" view on a populace is the point. It failed and no one even remembers. However, at the time, everyone thought it was the right thiiing to do and thiis is history repeating itself.
The market hasn't found a way to price in the long term costs of burning fossil fuels - and it's doubtful it could given disastrous effects of climate change don't respect the borders that markets operate within -joe
The market isn’t being allowed to work. Remember, the oil and gas tycoons hinder growth. Now the government is hindering growth of other alternative energy sources. Solar and wind aren’t the answers. It’s pretty obvious. A combination of nuclear, gas, solar and wind may work but the markets aren’t free to move. They’re all being instigated by others, not the market.
But just as we took away access to use products containing CFCs (which were harming the Ozone layer) and replaced them with cleaner, alternatives, so too, will we with gasoline powered cars. Electric, Hydrogen, and even Biofueled vehicles are all experiencing record investment. So while you may lose access to buying new gas cars, you will gain access other cars
I appreciate how this video shows every possible angle in the renewable energy conversation -- I feel smarter for watching!

Great work. I just discovered Semafor.
Nuclear energy is the way
Once and future king
How does that help if connection is the problem?

Cynicism is not a personality.
Nor is "This thing didn't work, ergo this unrelated thing also won't work" is a sign of intelligence.

Fossil Fuels
Your video editing skills far exceed your ability to tell a coherent persuasive story
So…why are we pushing so hard if it takes so long?
Why not allow the market to dictate what is needed?
They want to fail and then blame those that resisted as the culprits. If you think giving money is gonna fix climate change your a idiot

Because market rewards for financial profit and doesn't punish for climate disaster.
Agrivoltics!!! Co benefits
I hate wind turbines
How much does WEF pay Semafor? A true establishment mouthpiece. Rebel gets more views on every one of their videos than you have subscribers 😂😂
You’re not taking my gas car
Correct, no one is going to take your gas car. Nobody has purposed seizing any private property against the will of their owners.
Banning sales of gas cars is taking away access...

Did dodo brain say "Cant Run this country without clean Fossil" ?
