    Alpha Cinema Club is a brand that embodies the essence of the 80's genre, culture, generation fused in with today's culture and style. Very vibrant and bold colors, images and meanings. A brand to speak for the retro lovers of this generation and of the past generations. It is heavily inspired by the new wave and soundtrack of classic 1980s films, video games, cartoons and television shows. It is commonly known for its retro-futuristic style emulating science fiction and actions movies from that decade. With this in mind we’ve created this channel for anyone feeling nostalgic about 1980s culture or embracing this relatively new life style.

    this is definitely the best ending sequence of the saga. It has that perfect combination of mystery, archaeology, history, religion, wonder, and a touch of the supernatural. This is what Indiana Jones is all about.

    • @reversalmushroom
      @reversalmushroom 4 месяца назад

      Ehhhhh, I kiiiiinda disagree with that last sentence. In fact, I think that's what killed the series.
      Temple Of Doom is my favorite, but a fair amount of people dislike it/think it's the weakest of the classic 3 because of how different it is from the 1st one. There's no archeology, and most of the movie takes place in 1 area indoors. People have this idea in their head of "what Indiana Jones is supposed to be", which is a globetrotting adventure solving pieces of an archeological puzzle, basically, just keep doing the 1st movie again. Which proved to be fatal. I think Last Crusade is good, but I can't put it up on the same pedestal as the 1st 2 because we've seen this before. Indy goes around the world, solving an ancient mystery, which leads him back to a Middle Eastern desert searching for a Christian relic, and the antagonists are even the Germans again. The filmmakers saw it as "getting the series back on track", but I see it as retreading old ground.
      And then the 4th and 5th movies are just the 1st movie again but far worse. At least the _crafting_ of Last Crusade was excellent. The modern sequels. desperately needed to do new things to justify themselves. It certainly would've made them better, even if every single aspect of them still would've sucked. Why do we keep needing to do the 1st movie again? We have the 1st movie. We can just watch the 1st movie. Do something else.
      I heard a rejected 3rd movie idea by George Lucas was Indiana Jones in a haunted house. Now for the longest time, I thought "that's fucking stupid; thank God Steven Spielberg shot that down", but after seeing the post-classic sequels, now, I really wish we could've gotten that movie. It would've been refreshingly different. Indiana Jones doesn't always have to be him traveling the world, searching for ancient clues; it can just be any adventure.

    • @Casarzino
      @Casarzino 4 месяца назад

      @@reversalmushroom fair points, but The Last Crusade is just so damn enjoyable it doesnt matter. And to me Indiana Jones should be about something archeological as well as a great adventure.

    • @reversalmushroom
      @reversalmushroom 4 месяца назад

      @@CasarzinoI think the 3rd one is probably the best _looking_ movie and has the best score, and all the action sequences are great, and I love the scene with the knight, and Sean Connery's character, and how Indy's dad neglected him his whole life searching for the Holy Grail, and Indy's risking his life to reach out for it, and his dad is the one to tell him to let it go. And the movie has a bunch of its own stuff, so it's not a _complete_ retread.
      What do you think of Temple Of Doom?

    • @Casarzino
      @Casarzino 4 месяца назад

      @@reversalmushroom I love it too. As a kid it was my favorite. But now I prefer Raiders and Last Crusade. Temple of Doom is great in its own right, and it’s Indy at his most badass and heroic. It’s the only one where he really saves the day, and Short Round has got to be the ultimate kid sidekick. That said, I like the slightly more grounded and realistic nature of Raiders and Crusade.

Sometimes, even impossible fiction can be forgiven for its dramatic effect.

    • @TwilightMysts
      @TwilightMysts 2 года назад +9

      I had the same thought. Other commenters pretty much nailed it already. It looks really cool in film, but because of the mechanics it would only work if you are looking from exactly the right spot in 3D space. Stray from that spot and it breaks the illusion. So this would not work in real life, the bridge would be pretty obvious.

      @@principioyfin2605 true. But not to save himself. Sean Connery’s character would ask that Indy find the Grail, but not to save him. To keep it from the Nazis, and those who would misuse it. The Grail belongs to those who are worthy of the Grace that God bestows. That is the theme. Indy only wanted to save his father and keep it from the Nazis. But if his father werent in danger or the Nazis werent after it, he wouldn’t go after it. And even if the Nazis weren’t after it, he would only go in if his father were in danger and he would disregard his father’s warnings to not go in.

    "it's a leap of faith" only because you can't see that there is a solid bridge right in front of you because it was disguised to look like the canyon wall. If it wasn't purposely obscured, and clearly visible you wouldn't need "faith" to you know you can cross the gap.

    All these booby-trap challenges are a little problematic for the audience when you really think hard about them, but the last bridge that is camouflaged through forced perspective...yeeaah all Indy would have to do is tilt his head to one side and be all "oh crap there's a bridge there."
    I mean the illusion looks great on film when captured with a one lens camera, but a human being standing right there with two eyes?
