  • A while after Frank Zappa passed in 1993, I wrote and recorded this tribute piece, attempting to emulate his style. I Contacted my old friend Don Breithaupt to locate a guitar player who would appreciate it and was up to the task. It's John Pelosi playing the guitar. Don did some keyboard fills too.
Zappa sometimes used vibes on his stuff, so I managed to get the famous Peter Appleyard (RIP) to come by the studio and overdub those parts. (He was a family friend since WW2)
Everything else (bass, keyboard, drums, percussion, "horns & strings") is "sequenced" by myself from a Rhodes Model 660. For the spoken word it's a few of my fave Zappa sayings, mainly from "Apostrophe', strung together for a very loose story line.
The quality Zappa pics are costly to buy to avoid copyright infringement, and this time I'm highlighting the tune, not the video, so I cheaped out and used an audio visualizer.
    Hope you enjoy!
    Dave Mayle
