The most ironic thing is that McKenna and Ten Hag are playing near identical systems of total football. McKenna will fail for the exact same reasons Ten Hag has because he doesn't have the elite level players to pull it off. If true, this has to be the single most idiotic thing the club has ever done.

    • @Scienterrifical
      @Scienterrifical 4 месяца назад +44

Excellent comment, INEOS are doing what the Glazers done, sack the manager to take the heat off their terrible running of the club. They're buying time, until they buy more with the next sacking. Meanwhile, the value of football clubs will continue to rise and their investments payoff in abundance. Most of the fans are asleep or in denial to this. The fans are being played for muppets.

    • @FountainOfYoot

Difference between the two situations is that McKenna would have footballing personell above him, with an actual strategy. Is he good enough? Probably not, but he will have a better structure above him. He would have more support than ETH ever did. He’ll likely finish higher than ten hag and have better support in the transfer window, things that everyone post Fergie didn’t have.

    • @sssf55

@@FountainOfYoot I'm sorry but we're not finishing above 8th with McKenna in his first season. McKenna may be up and coming but he has hardly any experience compared to Ten Hag. Goldbridge has to be one of - if not the most - deluded and manipulative people I've ever listened to.
Pep's credentials before Barca hired him was he was their B team manager. Alonso was Sociedad's B team manager when Leverkusen came for him. Arteta had not even managed anyone!
McKenna, at this point, has more experience than Pep, Arteta, and Alonso had before their respective clubs signed them. What Mckenna has achieved already is something very few managers IN FOOTBALL HISTORY have managed.

You cant really compare what Chelsea and United are doing with what Liverpool are doing. They tried for Alonso and Amorin who are two good young managers with top flight success. They ended up going with Slot who is very tactical and also broke dominance in the Eredivisie. There aren't too many managers in the world like Klopp and Mourinho anymore.

McKenna has been offered £100K a week to stay at Ipswich, the only reason I can see why he doesn't want to commit to Ipswich, is because he's not convinced they will stay up and thus hurting his reputation so he'll struggle to get into a top ten club! Only reason I can see!

Would respect him more for staying there at least a season in the prem, would seem a bit snakey if he dips as soon as another team is interested and seeing as kompany is linked to Bayern I hope he sees that and doesn’t switch before trying to keep Ipswich up

Why are we all of a sudden believing this because it came out on Sky Sports News? Also, ETH even said that his situation isn't totally straightforward. Perhaps if he is leaving, it's by mutual decision & United is reaching out to McKenna to say, "don't make a decision too quickly because if ETH leaves, we'd like to interview you". Just don't see why this is any different than all the other "United is talking to (insert coach name here)"?

    FELLOW UNITED BROTHERS,
What's Mckenna's pedigree to be even linked with this job? Or let's say why we were linked with
    • Potter( clueless and embarrassed himself at Chelsea with no one respecting him)
•Southgate. Really do I even have to say anything?
•De Zerbi.( Who's too stubborn to adapt in games, cares more about playing style and doesn't give a damn about trophies. Where's the winners mentality?)
•Tuchel and poch ( I really am fed up with these coaches who goes from one place to another promoting their brand, not dwelling into the club's philosophy. Also they are ex- Chelsea Managers)
•Zidane(the man's a Legend and he doesn't even bothers learning English 'cause he doesn't wanna Manage in England. Delusional people thinking he will manage us)
Honestly No City, Arsenal, Liverpool will go after them. So why should we? Aren't we supposed to compete with them in future or play ring around the roses with Newcastle, Tottenham and co.
Shambolic from this new so called dream board IF they really had talks with McKenna at first. And for getting linked to such managers
How Hypocritical and different INEOS are from Glazers if they sack ETG? Acting like brexit Glazers!
What about the momentum we'll lose if we sack him.
What about the likes of garna, hojlund, mainoo and kambala. They all look promising. Do you really think the next Manager that'll come will play them for sure? Wby Dalot, Martinez, Onana, Mount. They all are behind this Manager.
What happens to the momentum and moral of these players if we sack him.
All I feel like is we need to give him one more season at least. Not just 'cause I think he's capable of turning things around but irrespective of any Manager who would be here is his place, I'd said the same. It's a momentum killer. We would have to start all over again. We wont be able to sell the Deadwood again.
No player or Manager comes for me before UNITED, it's not ETG bias. It's about seeing the situation and understanding what's the best solution.
All this I've said and I didn't have to talk about the poor manager market.
Look at Bayern going for Kompany as a 4th choice "possible" signing. Liverpool going for 3rd-4th choice Slot.
I hope we get United and support United. Not just like a bunch of Kids fighting with each other.
