    I appreciate you describing "user error" which is really kinda attributable to a bad design. But helpful nonetheless! I was about to sell mine because I never know why it's dropping. Now I know (but a good UI would eliminate the need for me to watch this video,)

    No one is talking about the Access Point option for wifi connectivity. It'd be great to have a video on that

    These videos was very helful. I was really frustrated after 2.gig test last Friday and nothing seems to work ( ipad over XR-18 wifi Access point and open network). I believed there was a failure with the unit itself. However, I was able to solve all problems by seeing this video, installing the PC program and do all the settings from here. (tried via the Ipad first, but without success. As Martinez pointed out, the "apply" onscreen button on the ipad App does not work. In addition, the PC program is much, much better than the Ipad App and adds more features. Now, I have 3 options and backup if something should go wrong during a gig.

    Great videos! More and more I see these videos, you really need a separate router to get the best results.

    Hi. Thanks for doing this video. What app do you use to scan for best wifi channel?

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  9 лет назад +2

      +Richard Penrose I use Apple AirPort Utility. It will show you all of the devices in the area, their signal strength, and the channel they are on so you can avoid those channels. Are you a member of our Facebook User Group? Lots of Q&A there. Thanks!

    Is there any way to spit a mix over wifi to use a cell phone as a wireless reciever for personal monitoring? That would be kickass

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  8 лет назад

      +brusnroses - We all wish that was possible, but it will never be an option. Cell phone communication is not REALTIME. It can be off by 1/2 to 4 seconds. Besides, the X-Air and all most all other wireless digital mixers do not try to send audio over the WiFi signal - it again would not be in sync and take up too much bandwidth. WiFi signals are for CONTROL only.

      I was thinking about a dedicated app with a low latency codec for bluetooth or wifi, not a cell phone call. It is possible but they make more profit by selling you their hardware

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  8 лет назад

      +Kyle Lynch - it varies. Usually a Shure Beta58 or Beta 87. On some of my really quick videos, I just use the computer mic.

    It's amazing how someone can spend so much time giving so little information. This is 30 seconds worth of good information but I had to listen for 5 minutes. Be concise with your videos people!

    Thanks for the video. Sadly, WEP is barely better than Open. It has long been considered not secure. Not sure why Behringer would only include those two protocols.
    I have this unit, and the wifi access point performs poorly. Being the only device on the wifi access point, it's slow and laggy. I shut off my own wifi for the testing.
    Otherwise, the mixer is great, especially at the price point, but I'd have paid $25 more to have better wifi built in.

      I disagree partly because wep is better than nothing if you have to use A.P. then rename your unit to something other than a PA system.. and use a stronger pw.
      one other tip ..swap out the antenna.. mime is at least three times stronger and since I did that I vave never had probs with dropouts ( I use a TP- Link -it cost me 5 bucks on ebay...new)

    This video should be about 30 seconds long. All it should say is "the wifi on this device is terrible. Buy an external router". The end...

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  7 лет назад +1

      Phatso Band .....except over 50% of the users have no issues with internal wifi, especially when they follow these procedures.

    • @phatsoband6339
      @phatsoband6339 7 лет назад

      Yeah, we did all this.... Terrible signal. Extreme latency issues. External router works like a champ.

    • @derekrushe
      @derekrushe 5 лет назад

      @@MusiciansPro That would mean that 50% DO HAVE issues which is a ridiculous amount of problems.

    we have an xr12 and even though the Wi-Fi has a password set up other bands in our building are still able to tap in. HELP lol how can we prevent this?

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  8 лет назад

      +AJ Martinez - Not possible unless 1 of 2 things: 1. they have your password 2. you think your are PW protected but it isn't. Are you using internal WiFi with a WEP password or an external WiFi unit using WPA2?

    • @XIANBLACK
      @XIANBLACK 8 лет назад +1

      Wep password but it still allows androids and iphones without the need of a password

    • @MusiciansPro
      @MusiciansPro  8 лет назад

      +AJ Martinez - then you haven't setup the WEP. Make sure you set, apply, and soft reset wifi.

    • @XIANBLACK
      @XIANBLACK 8 лет назад

      Cooooo I did it, but I also notice my iPad not able to form a visible action when I hit "apply" so it may be the iPad for some reason. There is no visible refresh when I apply WEP but it does print a password which I've set up
