  • Felipe Telles broke the magical 60-minute barrier in his first ever Ironman swim, coming in at 56 minutes with an average of 1:28/100m. When he first started swimming a few years ago, Felipe struggled to go faster than 2:00/100m. So how did he manage to increase his speed by that much? Find out in today’s podcast episode. ‪@ofelipem‬

    Very motivating.
After more than 3 months of trying to learn freestyle swimming, only ever having done breast- stroke before,
I just managed to do 300m without break and with 3-stroke breathing. Now hoping for more, let´s go.
Your videos and those of "skills´n talents" channel helped and still help a lot.

How would you go about increasing your stroke rate after focusing on catch for a while? I’ve done two of your courses and feel like got a good catch and pull, but now use it and glide too much!

yo I just want to thank you. I Have been following you channel for about 4 years now. I was a very poor swimmer. Now I just broke 5;55 at the 400m. Had been swimming autocoached on and off because of various reasons but I will join a masters team in september and I hope to break 5;30 soon and compete well in sprint triathlon drafting. Your channel has a huge part to play in my growth !

Why would you train for power before you mastered the technique?

  •  2 месяца назад

if I have session after which I have day off, then towards the end of it I push to the limit, like sprint 25s as fast as possible, or sprint 50 to failure and then trying to continue longer distance without drowning... if I have session next day, then I do my thing, it's training then, not a race
but I'm still a beginner, started swimming around last year april, I can barely hold under 2min/100 freestyle for like 1km, for IM distance it's more like 2:30 (and I don't know how to pace myself, I either overshoot and then have to slow down too much, or start too slow and then speed up towards end feeling like I could push way more)

Drills boring don't dont do them I like to get in pool and swim sometime slow sometimes bit faster if you are obsessed getting faster then yeah maybe you need drills but if you just like swimming and don't care.

Great video but honestly the 2021 pace doesn’t really seem two minutes and ten seconds per hundred meters...
