    That baby is growing up so fast. It feels like yesterday when you became a grandfather and look at that baby now. So sweet.

    Love it. Keeping the old tractors going is a must , avoiding as much computer chip running is a must plus I'm a sucker for nostalgia, old things being useful and heavy duty.

      Right. Seems like a solid and clen little tractor. One can readily get most parts from Hoye Tractor for these old guys.

    I have a YM 1500 which I use cutting the grass on a small acreage for a friend. I have found it important to frequently clean the fine mesh screen in front of the radiator . It unclips and comes out easily. By frequently I mean 2 or 3 hours which usually coincides with a break for a drink of some kind. Its amazing how quickly grass seems to collect on the screen Oddly enough when I cleared a really over grown area for another friend, brambles, nettles , small saplings beginning to sprout , that kind of thing there was less small material generated and it was less of a problem.

    Put a new radiator cap too. If your tractor was boiling it should have filled your overflow container first. If not your cap is bad. Nice video. PM on your equipment pays off in the long run.

    • @MrRainCountry
      @MrRainCountry Год назад

      Right. It was boiling over into the overflow tank. The radiator air flow was plugged with thistle seed and fine grass. The radiator was also dirty on the external surfaces. The outside temperatures were hot and I was working the tractor pretty hard. This is the first service I had done since I got the tractor. Thanks for the tip.

      I think so, so far. I haven't ran the tractor that hard since the fluid change.

    Oh gosh. Maybe the oil is why it was running hot.

    • @MrRainCountry
      @MrRainCountry Год назад +1

      Don't think so. Oil was topped off. Thistle weed seeds and fine grass had restricted air flow through the radiator. it was also a hot day and we worked the tractor pretty hard in the overgrown area we were brushing.
