Hi @lapfix, I have the same issue, same model. My razer blade 15 (2019) does turn off right after tapping on the turn on button. First, it had turned off during a game 3-4 times. Then before starting a game. And now I don't even get it run to the desktop. I need to save my valuable data. It would be an unbearable pain to lose those, especially for some I have a deadline. Anyway, turned my laptop upside down, checked battery which seems to have swollen a bit, more on the left side than the right (not exactly as much as yours). I have removed the dust from the fans and tried to turn my razer on without battery using the charging cable. In the internet I read it would work but it didn't. Is this normal for my razer? And what do suggest me to do? Further, I need the exactly same battery you have used. My original battery has the same Voltage requirement, looks 100% same as your original. So pl lease tell me where to get one?

Can anybody help me find the screws for this laptop? My battery was expending and some of the screws are not there. I've changed the battery but I need a few more screws so I can close the lid all the way
i have a razer blade 17 360hz with i7 11800H and rtx 3070 that had an issue with the battery after replacing it the laptop is always on battery mode even when plugging the adapter

Mine expanded enough to make the mouse pad not work for a while. Just thought it broke 2 years after purchase. But recently, the battery expanded to a noticeable swelling. Keyboard raised up in the middle!! I work on all my stuff but just want to make sure I don't damage a connector or something. Straight forward video. Thank you!! May want to add, I'd clear the dust out of the fans while you're in there because these are so heat sensitive.
Anyone have any luck finding a good replacement battery? My 2020 blade 15 is starting to do this and it's having effects on the trackpad. I'd like to replace it myself since it's out of warranty now but I'm not sure I should be buying some random battery off Amazon.

Oh damn, the replacement is that easy? My wife has been using my blade 15 for a good year and half now, and I haven't been using it until today lol. Noticed the screen wouldn't shut on the left side. Went to reddit and sighed after seeing it was a battery issue, and I can see the bulge now lol.
It's not that easy. The battery is glued to the chassis it doesn't come out that easy

That was razer's design to make a growing laptop that is sentient.
Had this happen on my Razer Blade 15 2020 (similar chassis, Base model with a smaller battery), replaced the battery today (sending it for official repairs would likely take a month, and it's my main work machine). And man, that thing was 2x thicker than the replacement. I got lucky that the touchpad didn't crack, that seems to be really common.

Same here, bought a Razer Blade Base Modell (2020) and ordered today a new akku after I was cleaning the fans and saw the swollen battery.
After my two years of experience with my Razer Laptop I wouldn't buy any Razer Laptop again, because the temperature is to high, the cooler to loud and the akku is not holding long enough.
I completely agree. I paid 2000 dollars for mine and this is what I get, a laptop which has battery issues. Not only that, but it gets very hot. The battery life is only 2 hours anyways. I should’ve just got a desktop.
Does the chassis shape go back or does it stay "buckled/bent" after battery replacement?
I can confirm that my Razer's slight bending was resolved after the bloated battery was replaced. Now my machine looks pretty again :-)
do you have a link to where you got the replacement battery? Im assuming probably from the Razor website. Does anyone know if there are "better batteries" that i can get that can push more power/last longer? the stock one lasted me about 2.5 years with daily use and almost always plugged in.

So I just noticed my track pad started to lift a hair and instantly knew it was my battery just took it off and ordered a new battery and man it swelled up a lot once I took the back off but very very minimal damage on my laptop if not any permanent so thanks for the video!

do you guys still fix razor blade 15 laptops? mine keeps shutting off randomly and alot and i have to prop it up a certain position until it turns on like normal and then i have to be careful not to move it out of that spot or it shuts off randomly and because it keeps doing that everytime i do get it to turn on when i go to put my pin in it says that login option is disabled for 2 hours and then i can try it again ive checked all the windows updates their all up to date so idk i think i need a new battery but not sure
This just happend to me. Razer said I need to ship my device at my expense to a friend/family residing within a list of the countries they allow RMA in. Like I have an authorised retailer in my city but that won't work. They can easily reimburse the replacement cost but they won't.
This is an active hazard and Razer doesn't take accountability for it.
I'm done with Razer. Should've gone with MSI or Alienware. They also give better performance and cooling. But I bought Blade 15 for looks and because I was a huge fan.
AVOID RAZER AT ALL COST.

I don't think this issue is fixable. The chassis is small, and the heat is pretty intense. It's not exclusive to Razer laptops (most gaming laptops use similar or identical battery cells), but their core design kinda lends itself to battery issues. It's just something you have to be prepared to deal with when buying a Razer, but on the flip side due to its high-quality aluminum chassis it doesn't have some other problems gaming laptops tend to have.

Battery became bloated, so it was replaced with a new one. However, before replacing, it no longer powers on or charges (No Orange Light Indicator). It would not operate when plugged in without the battery. If the button is held down for 10 seconds or more, an indicator will flash white (Power reset working). The charger was tested with an output of 19.5V, so it is not faulty.

It likely depends on how bloated the battery got. I just removed mine today and the only damage was to one screw hole that had broken. It is as flat as the day I bought it. Currently, I am running it without the battery, until the new one comes in.

hi! I know this is a bit late lol but I have a 2017 razer blade stealth 17 (17" (2017) i7-7700HK GTX 1060) and I have the problem where it is not charging. I changed the power cable and eventually opened the system to check to see if there was a burn like you showed. however, i was not able to find any signs of damage anywhere on the board, battery, or charging port. If youre still checking these comments, any tips would be much appreciated.
How can I assess the correct replacement battery for my model? My model is Western but I am living in Japan - does the different power supply here make a difference to the battery I must get? All the best, Sam

I had to use a credit card to carefully pry it out by working the card around. Careful there are ribbons under the battery if you have to do that.

probably too late to help you, but if anyone in the future stumbles on this they are type T5 screws.

Thank you for this movie. On some model maybe the new there is a strong adhesive in the top left of the battery. I was able to pry starting on the right and moving towards the left!
I think it would be helpful in your video if you call out the tools you are using and the replacement part number (might not be too helpful since there are so many different ones for razorblade)

I used a thick guitar pick i had laying around (similar to what you would find in an electronics repair kit). My adhesive was really tough so i used a little bit of alcohol to loosen it!

I love my rb but it’s a freaking laptop skillet it gets so stupidly hot can’t hardly touch it will burn you but it max out all games I’ve thrown at it under the hot temps also. Finally after 2 years I’ll try a laptop cooler when I buy a new Amazon battery replacement…
How often should you change the battery to avoid this? I got mine in 2020 but it's the late 2019 model and right now its battery dies after 2h of normal use.
Only when you really need to. Some models have bigger gpus, high refresh rate screens, power hungry processors etc. Won't matter too much what type of battery you put in there to change that a whole lot

I hope you discharged it first. The higher the charge the higher the chance of burning and even exploding. Below 25% it's relatively safe

If you can't send in your laptop for repairs, you can get third party batteries on Amazon or eBay. They're usually identical to the official ones, and Razer doesn't sell official ones anyway. Just check your model number on the sticker on the bottom, the battery listings on Amazon will usually list all supported model numbers.
Although if you have a deadline, you could get some M.2 to USB adapter and stick your laptop's SSD into that to move the data to some other computer.
That said, if your Razer isn't turning on at all without the battery, there could be an issue with the motherboard, and you may need to send it to a repair center anyway.

Got a 2021 Advanced Edition & the left click & right click seems to be harder not sure if I have a expanding battery but google is pointing to that kind of stupid that these issues are still relevant seems like a huge design flaw from Razer for the price of the products
I had the same problem with my razer 2018 laptop until the buttons on the track pad stopped working, now I have a swollen battery that needs replacement. But I used my laptop for almost 2 years until it inflated so bad.
If the trackpad gets hard it means the battery is expanding, same thing happened to me and it eventually broke my touchpad
Yes, it almost certainly means you've got a bulging battery. It will keep expanding and the clicks will eventually stop working, as they did on mine. But unless the touchpad cracks, the clicks will be working again once you install a new battery.

Fixing my Blade and then getting rid off it. With the amount of money you pay for the laptop it’s just ridiculous, it’s now the second time for me that I have to replace the battery. Never buying a Razer product again.

Have a similar Razer Laptop (RZ09-0330). It started having a spicy pillow (the funny term for the bloated battery). It works fine. In fact. am typing on the same laptop I'm posting this right now on the very laptop. (I mostly use it docked). It just states there's no battery inside of it. There is an adhesive on the top left of the battery so *really* be careful. A pullable adhesive tab is present so you can pull that sticky tab and then you should be able to remove it.
In the future for the replacement, I am going to make sure to let the battery cycle more often (and get a laptop cooler/riser) so it doesn't go into spicy pillow mode so soon. (I've had the 2019 version)-- so about 3 years which seems about right to go in a condition where I don't cycle it so often and don't use a laptop cooler.
@@ashameimaru What do you mean by cycle it more often? You mean we should use and recharge the battery more than we do or we should stop using on the battery and use plugged-in more often? How long have you had your laptop before your spicy pillow?
If it works at all, yes. Just be careful about the power cord, no gadget likes to be powered off by yanking out the cord by accident.
