Being disrespectful to the opening artist at a concert which you paid to go to knowing damn well there would be an opener before the main event deserves to be called out and shamed.
right? So, i don't know how different genres handle this, i mostly listen to Rock. But usually the opener is someone the band knows or respects. Like, Travis probably had a lot of input on who his opener was going to be. Usually its not some random artist that got plucked out of thin air. I haven't liked every opener I've seen, but I at least try to give them a shot.
0:20 "One of the biggest influences in modern rap culture"... As the "metro's boomin" guy i don't think you're qualified to make these kind of statements
Summary of video: Rapper Yung Lean was opening for Travis Scott's concert. Travis Scott fans didn't enjoy Yung Lean so they booed and chanted insults at him during the performance.
The problem with Yung Lean opening a Travis Scott concert is exactly what you mentioned: They have completely different music styles. Im going to the Circus Maximus concert myself soon and what im expecting is hyper music like FEIN, not the music that Yung Lean makes. I personally enjoy Yung Lean's music as well but he just really fit in as much as he should in this concert. Its like having Ed Sheeran open for a ACDC concert. Don't mind both, but who wants to hear Ed Sheeran in an ACDC concert? But I do agree that the fans acted like shit. No reason to be treating a opener like that just because it isnt Travis Scott mainstream shit. Some people just cant enjoy life
It's on purpose to boost engagement. Game grumps made fun of it in a video a while back. You mispronounce a word and all the lemmings spam the comments and share the video around making "fun" of the mess up, yet he's just farming you like a cow.

Pyro, I mostly agree with your video, but I was in general admission at that concert and was part of that crowd jumping up and down. Lean shouted into the microphone to jump up and down with him so everyone in our section did so to get hype before the concert. There were definitely people in that section who were being disrespectful but I feel misrepresented when you said we were jumping to make fun of him.
Also ghosttown was really good in Manchester and it looked like he enjoyed performing it so makes sense since the crowd were a bunch of toddlers in london. The irony of booing one of Travis’ biggest influences whilst performing one of his “breakout” songs (also one of his best imo) is crazy

@@BIGBOYGAMING03 Yeah, those vids were crazy, I’m a big concert goer and even when people don’t fw the openers they still try to get into the music and not bully them
@@BIGBOYGAMING03 I also don’t think the reason they treated him how they did was that they didn’t know him, I just think they didn’t connect with his stuff, I’ve seen tons of random openers that get the crowd going just as hard as the main act, still agree it was bad the way they treated lean though
The whole yap yap yap at 12:25 makes so much sense. Even clubs now are the worst thing on earth. Filled with 18-20yo who obviously had never experienced a house party and the etiquette that comes with it. So much arguing and fighting with staff and other people that just wanna have a good time.
For the cardi b example for artists being harassed, she literally asked for people to throw water at her lower area a minute before the incident and the girl accidentally threw the water too high.
Man concerts here in New Zealand are so fuckin nice. In my experience I've never fallen in a mosh pit, never been shoved, never seen anyone else get shoved, no ones ever been a dick to the artists. Most recent concerts I've been to were Blink182 in march, and Skillet in may, and both were amazing. People weren't dicks to the opening acts either, and even if the crowds clearly weren't really fans of the opener, they still go along with their sound and try to vibe regardless. Only slight shove I got at Blink182, was a dude falling over and it caused someone to bump into me. The person was instantly helped back up too. It sucks that American crowds are such assholes a lot of the time... It means that artists who can currently only afford to tour in the USA and a few other massive counties, might get really put off by touring elsewhere, and the idea of spending a fuck ton more money to come all the way down to NZ might be a deal breaker :'( Been waiting for FOB and Green Day for months to a year since their newest albums came out, for them to make tour dates here. Hell Rammstein hasn't made any dates here in almost two years for their Zeit tour.
