IN THIS VIDEO our partners Boldi and Mesi Paladi-Kovacs, and students from Csillagszeműek Anglia (csillagszemu.uk/english/), introduce us to the Cifra, one of the most fundamental folk dances/dance steps in Hungary.
If you're enthusiastic about traditional Hungarian folk culture -- as well you should be -- you'll definitely enjoy a folk dance party called the táncház. Inspired by the Transylvanian tradition of holding dances in people's homes, the modern Hungarian táncház ("tánc" means "dance" and "ház" means "house") might take place in a house or in a special dance hall
reserved for the occasion. During the event everyone participates, from the littlest dancers on up, learning folk dances not just of Magyar origin, but derived from ethnic groups from all over the former Hungarian empire.

What is All Around This World?
All Around This World is a joyfully musical Cultural Inclusion program for children 0-9 years old that encourages kids and their families to explore the world by enjoying global music, rhythms, and movement. Jay Sand, guitarist and children’s music teacher, world traveler, dad of three girls, developed All Around This World with his daughters as a way to introduce them to the countries he’s already visited and the many more he plans to visit with them.
