- I think St. Charles Missouri, is now open but it wasn’t when I filmed this.
In this video, I tour St. Charles and see Missouri's first State Capital and walk-thru this historic town checking out the sites. They also have some haunted houses and Frontier park is also pretty cool. 😃
Check out my interactive maps.

Thanks, I agree these old towns are really cool
Brings back good memories of when I lived in St. Charles. Sunday mornings would go there and have a latte, walk around a bit, have a nice breakfast at Bignets, which probably isn't there anymore..
Cool 😎 glad this brings back memories
My wife's relatives lived in one of the old homes on Main St. back in the 40s and early 50s before moving to Clark St. When we were back there a few years ago they took us there and their old house is now an antique shop. While inside her aunt told the owner she used to live there and the guy rolled his eyes and said, "everyone claims go have lived here, I'll buy you all lunch if you can prove it". A short drive back to the house for the photo album to show him Christmas pictures with the unique old fireplace in the middle of the picture. Wasn't a great lunch, but a free lunch is a good lunch.
That is awesome 😎 what a great story and a free lunch 😂
Thank you for touring me around. Great historic street. The towns building structures were beautiful.

It was! 😁
Oh my!! How have I not heard of this quaint place!! I am definitely putting it on my list, just the places we love!!
You should! 😁
My Grandmother lived in those cobblestone streets. I spent most of my time there. Bales Park is named after my father.
The State Capitol Building you're looking at was on the upper floor. The Breezeway is actually where you would pull you're carriage into and pulleys and ropes would raise and lower the harnesses on or off the horses. Also the old Court House is where the people would meet for all the Wagon trains would meet to go West. It's where Western Expansionism started.
If you would like to know anything about the cities history please feel free to ask. I can remember pumping $.26 gas for my mother. 😅
I remember when we had only one bridge and Interstate 70 didn't exist. You had to use old 94 to get across the river. My father who fought to get 70 completed . Just one of many things he accomplished.
Wow 🤩 this is the most interesting comment I've gotten in a while 😃 Thanks

I love the old brick roads. This is such a historic city. I love the architecture of the buildings. I enjoyed the tour. Are all the streets brick or just downtown? Thank you!
Once you leave main street they become normal blacktop.
Very nice vid-- thanks!
I never imagined the Historic Main St.
being almost empty! ☹️ We visited in 2017- and it was teeming with people.
It was kinda fun for video making but weird 🤪 Thanks for watching 👍
Beautiful little town💚
It really is! 😁
Mantap👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
wow looks so hystoric love it!
Glad you like it 😁
I love Main Streets, USA; wherever they may be. Thanks for showing us St. Charles.
me too 😁
St Charles looks beautiful, presumably a lot busier under different circumstances.
A lot busier it's usually hard to find a parking spot.
I would like to visit some day 😊 let's connect
Love your intro. You should add a few sound effects with all that letter movement. Oh yea, hope that Ghost didn’t follow you home.
Great idea 👍
Amazing history looks like Clark County Museum
Did you know the cobblestone streets you drove in was once covered in dirt for the filming of Back to Hannibal in 1990? Businesses literally shut down their stores for the filming. My girlfriend had a shop she rented. When film crew come in they decided there was a heat register in the floor they wanted the key to be found. We had to remove EVERYTHING from her shop while this was filmed. If we had to come down we had to be in period dress for the 1857's it was amazing to be able to see how it all came to life.
That's very cool 😎 I don't remember that but I do live kinda close and probably heard about it at the time 👍
At the same moment you said "It's surprisingly crowded today" I was thinking how deserted it looked. Ha! What an idyllic small town. Pretty wild to see the old state capital buildings. We visit Missouri every other year or so because of family. But I've never been to St. Charles. Nice tour. We just subscribed--would love to be YT friends!
Yeah it's a really nice town. Thanks for the Sub see you over at your channel 👍
