Which of these Good News stories from December are you most excited about? 😄 Did we miss any important stories? Thank you for your incredible support recently! 💚
@@MarisB-b8z It took deleting my accounts and forgetting passwords to get me to do that. So I would probably suggest that too, and be sure to use the time you would have doomscrolling to something you find and end up enjoying. It really is a process we have to choose, as I've found. But stopping it however you do it, it does feel amazing to let go of so much worry over stuff that doesn't matter.
I liked to see the decrease of deforestation in the amazon. It fits with an idea I was made aware of called the "new economy for the Brazilian amazon" which seeks to stop deforestation, replant trees to grow goods like cocoa and nuts, cultivate livestock, and transition to renewable energy. When you can align the economy with the momentum of the climate movement, I think it is a recipe for success. I hope to see the trend continue!
Me too. It was really difficult to watch news about politicians not believing in climate changes. Can't believe most of them could become president/prime minister.
I use llms as a way to access non-judgemental support (I live in poverty and am currently working on making social connections after a difficult childhood). It’s helping my depression - so llms are not completely bad! :) wishing you well
@@tomasbeltran04050 pretty much yep. I’ve done an honours in psych and am both literate and knowledgeable, so this is an important caveat. It may be the case that someone without this knowledge might not be able to prime the llm in a way that really works for them. There are some preliminary studies show that llms are more empathetic than humans particularly doctors and physicians. Some argue empathy requires a ‘human’ experience but I think they are just incredibly ignorant for many reasons. I’d recommend giving it a go, provided you become aware of the limitations and risks, work through your feelings, and seek professional support if necessary :)
I have been suffering with anxiety and depression for over 35 years. I do not watch the news because there’s never anything good in the headlines. This is no longer the case because of this channel. I’m glad I discovered this shining light in the tunnel of my sadness.
Despite their less pressing urgency, I appreciate that we're seeing some stories about historical rediscovery and preservation. They're uplifting and fascinating in their own right, in a different vein from the usual climate / health / social stories, so the variety is much appreciated. And of course, thanks for your tireless work compiling all these stories with links to their sources!
Girls not brides is a blessing to hear. Let them experience being a child is so important! The solar panels is very interesting & much needed. Thank you for sharing 👵🏻❣️
What i liked was that solar projects in the desert can help reclaim the land. I think that reclaiming the land beneath solar panels is important given the world's population and food need with the changing climate of the world. Given the amount of land in the US southwest that have deserts, this could be a win for electricity generation; land restoration; and the local population.
This really restores a lot of my faith in humanity, we can change the world for the better if we work together. that’s exactly why i love these videos it shows what the true human spirit is all about
Love both PRC projects. Expanding scale solar farms into sustainable works providing renewable energy, environmental remediation and regenerative agriculture is right and good as they sustain us and restore the earth’s wellbeing. Thank you PRC.👍🏼
A decrease in deforestation is still deforestation, just at a slower rate. Reforestation is needed to reverse the damage that has been caused over the past few decades.
there are many groups around the world working on reforestation projects maybe you should donate to some if you want them to be able to expand their efforts
Thanks for the good news Regis, I've come to rely heavily on your channel for positivity and hope. As to your question about China and their rapid adoption of green energy, I think it's fantastic. They are creating competition, forcing other countries to adapt and innovate or be left behind. I only hope the rest of the world follows suite.
My guy how do you not have a million subscribers.... Yet. Best channel of good news EVER. All of the stories are breaking grounds for a positive and clean future.
I love your videos. Thank you so much for gathering all those good news. Really helps to keep my mood up and my hope that we can make a change for good
Keep up the good work. In the last section you mentioned the “best” news - i dont need the best. I just need positive and uplifting. Even small wins or just progress are worth celebrating.
Thanks guys. I say this on every video but it rings true for them all. You guys have been a shining light in the darkness of media. And have helped me and others immensely. I hope your channel continues to grow and I hope that you guys succeed in every aspect of your lives. Merry Christmas if you believe. Happy 24-5th of December if you don't.
I am very appreciative for the variety of good news that you share. Forty years ago I called our local television news station and asked them to include some good news each night. The reply was that the public wouldn’t be interested! I really enjoy the good news from different countries. So often we only hear negative political news. Today your good news from China was a wonderful reminder that citizens want the best and most positives improvements for their country and that we can learn from one another. Thank you so much.
The part about this that made me laugh the most is how at the beginning you said “The past month was packed with uplifting moments around the globe”. Cracked me up, thank you for that.
thank you, this video brought a tear to my eye. its good to see positive things going on for a change 😀💝 i liked the notre dame story the best as it must have taken a lot of effort
I was impressed with report on China's steps toward improving the environment. They've been doing some pretty incredible things in recent years, but those stories often don't get the attention they deserve. Well done.
8:24. My idea is that ALL large cruise and cargo ships should be covered in solar panels, so that the can a) power themselves indefinitely with no fuel, AND b) when they dock they can plug in and dump any excess power into the local grid. This way the ships of the world become roving solar charged batteries.
i noticed especially with the solar energy farm in the desert gobi that more data would be helpful to contextualize the given numbers. you gave context through the 2 mil homes powered annually which is a good entry point. i get a better feeling for scale and progress through percentage values and time graphs like you did for the rainforest news. thanks for making the video :)
I had no idea Colombia didn't already have child marriage banned, and now I'm afraid to find out what countries don't. Thank you for that bit of good news. 😊
Yesterday, I decided to delete my usual news app because it tends to focus heavily on negative stories. I’ve realized that dwelling on negativity can create a feedback loop, making the world feel increasingly grim over time. Instead, I’m now choosing to focus on the positive, building momentum to notice and appreciate the good around me.
The Gobi Desert solar farm itself is great, but Cnina does not have the necessary infrastructure to deliver the energy to where it is needed. Cart before the horse.
Please talk about Vietnam’s first metro line that just opened! It’s gonna improve the lives of millions by making travel across the most dense urban areas safer, and the air cleaner while reducing pollution.
5:40 Although not related to this story, recent years have brought a new technique to reduce damage to areas not requiring treatment during surgery. A wand that tracks where its location in 3D space (think like a Wii remote) is brought to the areas where a surgery is to be performed to map out the area. The instruments used in the surgery, such as a drill or saw, will TURN OFF if they go outside that area. This makes it much less likely to overcut or drill into a region.

You've no idea how much I needed a little light in this darkness 😢 Thank you ❤
just stop doom scrolling ..it really alters your life it does not mean you are not interested in the world.

Watching these actually makes me more happy for the future
Yes!
Same
Yeep
Yep same. I am surprised, even though it makes total sense!
As a breast cancer survivor, I'm grateful for you including that story in the monthly dose of good news.
Columbia's ban on Child Marriage was my favorite. Thank you for collecting and sharing Good News. It's so needed now more than ever.

Honestly all the bad news on climate change and other stuff has made me feel nothing but hopeless and depressed. Needed this.
Me too. It was really difficult to watch news about politicians not believing in climate changes. Can't believe most of them could become president/prime minister.
Over 35 years of anxiety and depression. I completely get what you’re saying.

wow. That's interesting, @imthinkingthoughts . By non-judgemental support you mean something like therapy but provided by LLMs?

I was so happy to hear that the girls in Columbia are finally having their rights protected!

Child marriage, birds and snail, that's my pick among all these wonderful updates of good news.
This really restores a lot of my faith in humanity, we can change the world for the better if we work together.

@ethernetgirl2001 I do already support one such group with a monthly donation.
I don’t want news about “Less bad” like deforestation. I want actually, real good news like “reforestation”.
I love this channel!!! Thanks for the hope and positivity in a very negative world.
This channel is medicine for the soul. I can feel my body relax and feel better as I watch. Thank you and keep up the amazing work.😊
If I watch a good news video my day is a lot better❤ thank you❤
Thanks for the Good News this month, needed it
As an American, I could really use some good new to help tide me over the horror of the next four years. Keep finding good stories. Thank you.

I can’t help but feel bad for the two people the treatment didn’t work for 😢
I loved the solar farms news the most! But as always, I loved all of the stories.
My guy how do you not have a million subscribers.... Yet. Best channel of good news EVER. All of the stories are breaking grounds for a positive and clean future.

but china like to sabotage others who are trying to sort their countries out 💔

11:32 It happened on April 15th, 2019. Not April 5th, 2019 I remember this because it was on my 13th Birthday, also, I looked it up.

Hearing how China is advancing so fast towards net zero emissions is great! I hope the US can catch up too!
But honestly this channel is amazing.
Love me some good news. 😊
