A billion is 1000 x 1million. So 500000 is 0.05% of a billion. The worlds largest solar farm can supply energy for 0.00625% of the worlds population. I wouldn't start celebrating yet- the world is still going to burn.
They sadly are also the ones that are most likely to be BS, especially China loves to present some nice sounding numbers on paper but in reality the stated goal has only been like 13% achieved and in the background they ramped up coal use and other pollution a hundred fold. The amount of electric vehicles (especially e-bikes and shooters) that have been produced in order to secure some government grands and make it look nice on paper, only for most of these vehicles to just instantly be dumped somewhere without even being used is tragic and will offset any positiv effect these few show projects in the video here will have. Overall the CCP and it's corruption is still one of the most damaging things for our planet as a whole and that sadly probably won't change any time soon.
Interesting fact, if the current population of the earth lived like they do in India, we would need 0.7 earth's. For the same but for the UAE, 5.7 earth's.
I like the respect and inclusion of the native people that have won small and big and I hope they do reclaim the nature and wonder of their lands to the fullest.
I second this--I think we all need a transformation of how we conceptualize our relationships with nature. Industrialization damaged so much and taught people bad stewardship. A loss of sacredness for the land and nature could take inspiration from native voices. We need to elevate those voices.
My favorite story was the first one. The UK set a goal to get rid of coal, and they freaking DID IT. That's so heartening! We can reach our goals! We can do the things!
Yes, positive vibes that aren't faked animal stories would be appreciated. I love animals and positivity, just not lying to your audience for clicks and tying unrelated footage together.
In the 5th story (Chinese Wind Turbines), the graphic at 6:14 is a little misleading - the height differences in the graph imply the technology has gotten multiple times more effective between each model, when the increase between the first (15MW) and second (20MW), and second and third (22MW) is 33% and 10%, respectively. Adding numbers and units to the graphic would go a long way to making sure the information isn't able to be misinterpreted, especially if someone doesn't watch the whole segment. I want you to be able to keep making these videos, as they really are beneficial, and I hope that small critiques like this serve to make your product even better than it already is. Keep up the great work!
This is exactly what critiques are made for , so the producer improves their product , is just that today most critiques are maid in bad faith but yours is not.
Thank you, that’s totally fair. Should have paid more attention to getting the scale right and including numbers. Will make sure to keep an eye on that for the next graphics. - Luis
@@Good__News also you showed a map of New York State for the size of the western China solar farm, but made it sound like it is closer to the size of NY City. I am thinking you should have showed a map of NY City instead since NY State sized solar farms will likely take about 200 more years to do on land or on water.
As an Oregon tribal member it is important to note that the Yurok were not the only tribal nation to benefit from the dam removal and the cultural significance tied to it. It's an awesome and incredible win for indigenous people and rhe environment all throughout southern Oregon and Northern California!
I hope more dams are removed and tribes will stop netting rivers when they try to spawn. Not saying your tribe does this, but this happens in Washington state. It saddens me when I see this. Behind those nets are more fisherman, poor fish don’t have a chance. Would be great if fish catching was greatly capped to allow populations to recover.
So happy to see that two of these projects are happening in my home state of California! I’m consistently signing petitions and voting in favor of increased funds to battle climate change… so it’s always nice to see the real results.
Currently detoxing our feed and feeding the algorithm - knowing controversy and anger goes so far online I so respect what you are doing here. It’s so needed and so appreciated! From a small environment focused biotech company in Vancouver BC ✨

Global warminhlg isnt a new topic. People in tbe 70s had anxiety over it and look at that, they now are mostly all dead. All you can do is do.your best for the planet but anxiety serves no purpose.
@ anxiety is not rational. It is regulated in another part of the brain, that is more or less conditioned by certain triggers. Insecurity about the future, loss of social cohesion and loss of autonomy being three of the dominant triggers. Rationalization of course can help to restore the mental balance, but primarily in retrospect. One can not ‘unthink’ anxiety.
Absolutely LOVE this! Good news needs to be shared. Not only does it help mental health (given the deluge of inflated, horrible news on the hour, every hour) but it also will help encourage people to keep working towards creating change. Things like this help me to know that it's not completely hopeless! Thank you!
The dam removal is especially inspiring habitat restoration victory, especially since the salmon play such an important role in the Yurok tribe's culture. I wouldn't mind a deep dive video on this victory seems like some amazing movement building!
I really needed to hear those stories. Sometimes I wonder if my little contribution matters. To hear of other quite significant things inspires me to keep going. Holds out a shared hope. Thank you. Great to also see young people and First Peoples of different countries have their voices heard and responded to. Long haul for one story.
As good as it is to hear governments say they will implement green policies, I can't help but feel skeptical. Anyone can talk the talk, but I wanna see them walk the walk. Fortunately, there are some good examples of that here.
Talking the talk but deny, delay and other baloney for doing anything is also called greenwashing. We need to repeat it over and over that we know what these greedy, lazy liars are doing with all their hot air.
I have been feeling a little hopeless and very sad the last few days. Thank you for putting a smile on my face. I can’t explain how much I needed some good news ❤
I love this channel and all the good news it brings. But when you were comparing the size of that Chinese solar farm, you said it was bigger than New York CITY but showed the New York STATE. I just thought I should point that out 😅. Anyways love the videos Regis! ❤️
I live in the country. Every year the cities nearby encroach even further and destroy the beautiful land around us. This news has restored a little bit of my hope.
Love this kind of content! Good news helps contrast against all the bad, but even better would be to provide details about how people can get involved. The best antidote to anxiety is action.
Fantastic video! Definitely not enough climate and general wins shared by today's media. As an Australian, I'm optimistic about the direction a lot of this policy is taking the world in; our economy is boosted so much by coal trade, and we see our government not stepping in any direction to stop that because its so lucrative. China moving so heavily to wind and solar gives me a lot of hope that we'll see change someday soon. ❤
Wind and solar overtaking coal in China is massive news. They’re gaining momentum in the UK too as you mentioned and have caught up to natural gas for the first time ever. The deployment of renewables globally is really picking up speed. It’s stunning to see, and exactly what we need. Hoping the momentum keeps up 🤞🏻🥹
I don't believe anything coming out of China. Same people who told us they were having only like 8 covid deaths a month during the height of the pandemic.
Marvelous news indeed. All 10 stories are impactful and inspiring. I really love the mix of sustainable energy💡 and nature restoration/protection news🌿
negativity bias is a real thing... a deeply needed video and so cool to see what we were able to win in 2024- hoping for even better in the coming years!
Finally. Some good news! (Har har) but seriously, with all the negativity that has been flooding social media and the news as of late, it's nice to finally hear about something good for a change! Thank you and keep it up! ❤❤

Love it! Thank you for filtering news for me, helping me to stay positive everyday! I did wish for just a tad of more info, especially when it comes to news like the coal in UK and dams taken down in US - but what did they replace it with? what happened to the workers?
I think i really needed to see this video. There are so many horrible things happening around the wolrd and i didn't belive that we were making any progress on climate change either. To see how far we've actually come is so inspiring. Thank you.
The ocean protections are one the greatest achievements here as losing ocean ecosystems would end up effecting climate change since its such a big component of processing CO2
I really enjoy this summary format in which you focused on a single category of news for the entire video. It makes it much easier to follow. I hope you repeat this format in the future, maybe switching up your monthly news format to focus on one topic at a time.
What do you think? Which of our 10 news stories is the most important?
Thanks a lot for watching 💚

How can we help with the algorithm?
There were a few stories that were similar. So I'd say the stories that talked about changing over to renewable energy are the most important.
I'm wondering how many people here know that the Rockefellers (aka big oil) are the main driver behind the climate alarmism lobby? Show of hands?
Watch the next upload as well haha :D
The Chinese and Indian stories are probably the most important because they are such heavily populated countries but it’s all great news! Thank you
I can't agree more 😊

There was a documentary/short film made on this process of getting these dams removed. ruclips.net/video/PoZKMtqK8u4/видео.htmlsi=ubbL4jjNRgx7ACKr
Just one question: Couldn't they built fish-bridges instead of removing them completely? To get energy out of water is green, isn't it?
In the light of the LA fires happening right now, I don't think people are so stoked about water reservoirs removal....
