If I'm going to pay 500 bucks I might as well get the new UT87 from United Technologies and get their new take on the Neumann U87. It actually gives you two different versions of the 87. Check it out.
Although it's a fixed polar pattern the best Neumann mic that I've ever worked with is the U47. I do a totally different style of music and vocals compared to the Beatles but I remember thinking this and actually saying it to the recording engineer at the time that the mic made my voice sound like the Beatles and this was years before I finally found out why. It's not the sound of my voice that I was hearing it was the sound of the mic. I just associate that sound with the Beatles as I've heard it the most with them but there are other old classic tracks from the 50's and 60's that have that sound that the U47 gives. IMHO the U87 is the workhorse that can really do everything but without the coloring that the U47 gives. It's balance is precise without the aggressive vintage nature of the 47. With the budget in an ideal world it would be great to have the two and be able to choose which one for certain types of acoustics as a producer. Vocals, strings, horns, giving them either the vintage of a desired balance.
Does anyone know how this mic compares in quality/fidelity to the Slate VMS ML-1? About to pull the trigger after much research, but do the extra “mics” (Neumann models) with the VMS overcome the dedicated sound of the NTK that I’m looking for?
Cool vid...your neuman mic is only as good as your monitors and ad/da converters...PS..remove that chinese valve in the Rode and replace it with a telefunken....then you have a top end mic...your welcome!
Thank you! Yes, I'm totally aware. This is my old studio. I know have the flagship apollo x16 and x8 plus an Antelope Zen Tour. The converters are excellent. I have some RME stuff as well that I can't talk about yet. So yeah, you are absolute correct about the converters. Also, because I have a few Telefunken Microphones now as well and some are tube mics, my rode NTK is officially retired. I have question,i have ntk ,do you need +48 phatnom power on your interface keeping ON when recording because you have power suply
No phantom needed with the NTK.
What mic can i use for attending meetings online by connecting to my computer As well as recording vocals...i want an inbuilt storage in the mic for recording.
Love this mic,but for Girl Voice, the Sibilance is more apperance...
Sir, pl. also review blue baby bottle and Aston origin too.
K2 ? It's same ?
Bro how you deal with the noise please can you help me the ntk its all what I can afford
would rode be ok for like melody rap ?
The WARM WA87-R2 is good too!!
I’m thinking about getting that one or the tml 102 . Or any other good one under 1000 any other suggestions?
🔥🔥🔥🔥 cool video
Is the blue baby bottle sl a good mic?
Incredible microphone. The transparency in all blue microphones is unmatched. I hope this helps.
Archie Beatz thanks so much bro
I just sub to your channel thanks for reply back bro
Please make a tutorial how to record with rode ntk 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I have the rode ntk but thinking of switching over to baby bottle SL instead from blue microphones
I just have a steingberg mic that came with my first audio interface kit. I was thinking about getting the aston spirit, but maybe the rode might be better cuz i want a warm sounding mic. Until i get a u87 haha.
What’s up? Yeah either the Aston spirit or Rode NTK would work for great quality but the Rode NTK is incredibly warm and big 🙌🏽🎶
Whats the different between this and nt1a ?
It’s such a killer microphone… let me put in a case and look at it. 😳🤨
😂😂😂😂 heyyyy man, it has to be protected plus I'm lazy and haven't replaced the tube. I did get the K2 and mannnnnnnn. It's close to the NTK put has switchable polar patterns. I post a review on the K2 and it blew my mind with the similarities.
@@archiebeatz I’m just jkn. I’ve got a ampherex tube but just won a telefunken 6922 tube on eBay to try out in my NTK. Haven’t used this mic in years since I dismantled my studio but I just bought a new universal audio Apollo twin heritage with a new iMac computer and hopefully I’ll get all of us back together give this mic some breaking in. ☺️
These young people are joking they can't sing without Auto tune and recomending microphone to people. Were are the old school music engineer
Hello, can you advise me for what alternative Rode NTK ?
You look like a Jamaican Dancehall Artist Govana
Is The JZ BH2 better sounding?
Equal in quality but different sound if that makes sense.
@@archiebeatz Thank you :)
How does it compare to the at4040
Different microphones and both deliver similar quality but the NTK is warmer which I love.
Does anyone know how this mic compares in quality/fidelity to the Slate VMS ML-1?
About to pull the trigger after much research, but do the extra “mics” (Neumann models) with the VMS overcome the dedicated sound of the NTK that I’m looking for?
What is a good XLR cable for the NTK?
Mogami quad STAR.
My sony c800g kill all mics took me 2 years to buy it, the most expensive mic on the planet & sounds better than any mic sorry u87,
🔥🔥🔥🔥💎
Cool 😎👍
What kinda mic do drake use
From what I heard, the streets are saying the Neumann TLM103 and U87 Ai.
I may do a project with my son when he turns 4 or 5 where we replace tubes and capsules on some mics in my locker. That should be interesting. Thanks for stopping by and dropping some advice!
goat
Hahahaha, thank you.
I have rode K2
IM THE 1ST COMMENT......THIS DUDE IS THE TRUTH
Hahahaha! Thanks bro! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Picked it for 80€ used, like it but it's too hot on siblings
Honestly, i believe the Aston origin is better than the NTK.
Awesome, I'm glad it works for you. I have a difference in opinion but it's ultimately about the preference. Which is why I urge my subscribers to test the microphones out for themselves like you did. Thanks for commenting bro.
samuel jacksons brother?
Hey bro I love your videos I wish you could give me one of those microphone I really need of one especially the rode ntk love this song of that microphone wish if I could afford one but I can't afford it God bless you bro we all black people wish if you could share 🎙️ with me
A guitar should inspire you to play .
Same with a microphone .
It should give you INSPIRATION everytime you hear it back .
