Kind of an initial factory seasoning, but I spent an afternoon with a belt sander to get rid of that, then I put it on a spit and slowly turned it and roasted over my barbecue grill for a day.
I know you normally do pots and pans videos but I want to ask if you use cooking oil misters and if you do which one do you think Is the better one..I'm looking to purchase one but I don't know which one would be the easiest and better one to get. Thanks..
Hi Uncle Scott, I like your reviews. I suggest that you review Stoneware in future shows. The good stuff is broilerproof and cleans up easily. As a starting point, look at Le Creuset, Staub and Emile Henry.
I just looked on Amazon and they were around $105... I really hope no one jacked up the price based on the review. They appear to be sold out, but I didn't see any sales on my affiliate links overnight either. For Pete's sake!
Hi. What's the largest size cast iron you have on it? If you put your cast iron on lower racks, it might be more stable. If your boy knocked it over, lighter pans would tumble on him ( head wise ). His toes might take a beating. Oh, might consider using some packing paper between stacked pans to prevent scratching. Peace to you and yours
I was getting nervous there when you were talking about your wife in a video titled 'Nice Rack'. lol I wonder if you can add a couple (I guess it would be 3) short support legs so it would be less likely to tip over? Sure looks good though.
If you ever hear me talking of my wife's rack not he internet, the next video you see here will be raising money for the Remembering Uncle Scott Memorial Fund.
Put the PLANTS on it and the pots/pans back where they belong! Good review Scott. Hello from Tampa-St. Pete!
I will just run this by my wife and see what happens. I go in with low expectations.
@@UncleScottsKitchen LOL ... Hey, who's the cook in the family? Oh ... yes dear ...
I know how that goes! 😢
Does it come already seasoned?

It's about time Lodge came out with this! That LeCreuset rack for between $400-600 is dumb!
Does it pass the "egg test"?
Yes, but the flip is the tough part.

Excellent suggestion and I will try to get a few up maybe for the holiday cooking season.
Does it need to be seasoned?
Yes - either with salt and pepper, or a dry rub with cayenne and brown sugar.
I think you single handedly sold them all for Lodge. I went on their website, they are not in stock. Amazon has options at 200+ only.

'racking' up the videos lately since your covid recovery. Nice!
Trying to get back in the good graces of the RUclips "AI"! Thank you for noticing!!
Do the Ikea/flat screen hack for tipping furniture. Screw a retaining strap to the wall.
That is a great suggestion.

Been a long time since I've heard anyone else use the word "tump". I thought it was just me!
I might bust out some y'alls, hosepipes, and reckons.
Putting your oiled pans out in the open will help keep the dust down in your house.
It's like they grow fur!

@@UncleScottsKitchen hahaha I hear ya...
Lol your funny uncle Scott
no feet whatsoever.. that things gonna WRECK hardwood floors
You could probably add some felt stick-on pads and mitigate most of that.
Are you saying tump it over? WTH does that mean? LOL
You made the latest Pancast! Did a whole segment on "tump"! Awesome! :) ruclips.net/video/rMHInjWhJaM/видео.html
Will the elusive wife ever make an appearance on USK?
Hope your little one does not pull it over on himself! that would be bad.
That is a very good idea.
Looks like MAYBE 25lbs of pans on there lol
It’s not bad looking , but I wouldn’t want that out in the kitchen . Perhaps tucking that away in the pantry would be best.
My wife says the same thing about me.
