FYI even though PTX has occasional additional guest singers, there has been only one band member change. The bass Avi Kaplan left in 2017 for personal reasons, and was replaced with Matt Sallee in 2018. That has been the only change. If you would like to see a live performance Popspring 2016 includes 4 songs, including 3 originals and 1 medley
They only have had one new member. Avi (bass) left for personal reasons in 2017 then Matt stepped in. Mitch and Kirstie often change appearances.

I love this cover and I love PTX. They are the first of the new a cappella era and paved the way for the others. They have won 3 Grammy’s, nominated for another, and are the only a cappella group to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I believe they are the best at what they do.
Recommend their cover of The Prayer.
Pentatonix is absolutely my favorite band, never mind a cappella band.

Pentatonix is definitely my favorite group. I love everything they do. ❤
The reason it seems the group is constantly changing members is that Kirstie and Mitch look different in almost every video. Kirstie wears wigs, colors her hair and Mitch has done everything from shaving his head to using extensions for his mullet. He’s grown a mustache. He gained weight, he lost weight. So it’s an illusion of change for them. But they’ve all had different looks.
The only real change is bass Avi to bass Matt in 2017.
This was one of their early videos. It was a real hit at the time for them but you can tell the video quality isn’t nearly what they do today. But I still love it. I’ve been following them since 2011 so I’ve seen them grow from teenagers into adults.

you know my favorite song from these guys is one i don't think they published themselves. from the sing-off, they did "Let's Get it On" from Marvin Gaye ! it is absolutely stunning.

You've already been exposed to Voiceplay and Home Free, two of the other top-tier acapella groups.
Some others you might enjoy and want to look into: Voctave (grew out of the Disneyland/Disney World groups), and a couple that were put together by Scott Hoying of Pentatonix and their arranger/producer Ben Bram - Citizen Queen (an all-female group) and the AcaPop Kids (a group of young singers, mostly teenage, but a few younger, many of whom were discoverd through the Acapella Academy that Scott, Avi, & Ben have held several times to help grow acapella)
Voctave is another a cappella group that you might enjoy. It's larger than the 3 you've mentioned (PTX, Home Free, and VoicePlay), and is mixed with both men and women.
