First off God bless you and thank you I was fortunate enough to score my what was at the time fully loaded and updated mg30 last year at sam ash in the used section for $53 ...I'm gonna have to get a laptop now to update it to ver5 thanks again
I hope in the future update that there will be a stomp mode and you can assign effects and scenes to the first two footswitches rather than just moving to different patches. That would be a great update for Nux MG30 and will help players not needing to buy another midi controllers.
Firstly, it's such a blessing that you took the time to make these guide and video tutorials for us. God bless you. I have a small request, could you kindly please also make a guide/tutorial video on how to setup the NuxMG30 with the DAW or to use on applications like Reaper for recording?
The vey big deal actually is the last one of the list ! because that switching noise use to be a significant problem of this unit (enough to read hundreds of blogs on that topic) ! this is communicated with limited attention, but actually it was an issue ! well done now !
I upgraded recently the pedal. In my opinion they did some sacrifices, the stomp buttom on the exp pedal don't work anymore, the reverbs are so weak. So if you want to do some drip twaggy sounds just put a cross on it. Overall the pedal works a bit better but still some major improvements are needed. I'm seriously thinking to upgrade my gear to kemper or Neural, tired of dealing with all these patches. The MG 30 is fine but has many limitations. Perfect to practice, basic live.
I have a question… I just ordered the MG-30 but Im not sure if it’s the domestic or global version. If ever i got the domestic (Chinese) version, is there a way I can change to english? Thanks for making this video, it’s very helpful!
Really useful guide even though it was done in Mac because in Windows, you have to start the exe or whatever file to start the update and you don't show the end too but it's ok, you did a great job nonetheless!
Thank you for so much for this. very helpful video! I do have a question: I’ve already updated my firmware to version five. Why do they recommend doing a factory reset at that point? If it works fine after installing the firmware update, what does factory reset do at that point? Thanks so much!
@@influentialworship Well, just mainly for playing at home and ocasional jamming with friends, nothing for professional stage or anything. I have a MacBook Pro M3 Pro that's my main computer so I was just wondering if NUX have updated their tools to use with Apple silicon so I'm glad to see they're fully functional on those chips so I don't have to touch my other Windows machine (that I only use for gaming).
Still very hesitant with upgrading to V5. I did it about a month ago and the Whammy pedal just didn't work right any longer (yes, I calibrated and restarted and did all the other proper steps). Aside from that, the other features are just not stuff I personally need, so it has just not really been on my radar. Unless they updated the HORRIBLE sound of the VIVO amp model.
@@influentialworship they replied! they said. ''there should be no noticeable lag. There is only one exception, which is when the rotary effect is in use'' what is the rotary effect?
Still a major problems with the exp pedal. Sometimes it bugs a lot. Anyways a chinese pedal for 250 bucks, don't ask much for that. But at least they delivered a decent product for the price. .
You should be able to jump to version five but just keep in mind that any presets that were made with version three are not compatible with version five
I have updated to V5 and seing your video I realize that patches created prior to version 4 (like most patches on internet!) are NOT compatible! NUX should provide a conversion tool! I am trying to revert to previous versions.
I bought the unit yesterday and updated it to v5 version. It is giving me trouble with the 5 way switch it randomly stops working and wont let me go in the back patches when scrolling. Is this a hardware issue or bug in the update. Also should I be worried this is my first processor.
I would not be worried. I would maybe try do the update again and if it’s still giving you issues, contact NUX support. But you definitely don’t have to be worried. This is a great unit.
Did they fix the VIVO amp model sound because i dont even think that thing was an amp, it is just a buzz. Even worse because of it being a model of the Peavey 5150
Hi, i have sent a mail to nux support regarding an issue about buzzing amps and haven't got back to me for over a week. Is there another mail id for tech support or help or i may have typed in the wrong one. If you could help that would be great
Hi there, some buzz in the amps is common. Is it excessive? What pickups do you have on your guitar? This page has all the contact info based on whether you are in or outside of the US www.nuxaudio.com/company.html
Thanks. I wouldn't really say buzz but yeah when I'm using amps like Vivo or dual rect, the sound is not at all clear, especially when play palm muted chugs there's this chrr-chrr sound. I have an Ibanez guitar (RG470AHM) with Quantum pickups
@@influentialworship so how do the factory patches have identical starting patch in each of the 3 scenes? I'm starting to think scenes are nothing more than additional patch locations that are harder to access and manage with the quicktone SW.😞
I actually walked through how to do it in this video. You could use the chapter mark to navigate to that part of the video. How To Use NUX MG-30 | Walkthrough All Settings & Features ruclips.net/user/liveaX1_WJWUIt0?feature=share
Fuck this NUX. All my imported IR‘s are deleted and also my imported user cab. I saved the sounds in front if updating and after reimport the files, all sounds with my IR‘s haven’t a cab……
I saved all my patches that I have made with v 4.3. All my patches have my personal IR‘s in it. After update to V5 I played my patches completely back into the unit but with the update the unit has deleted all my IR‘s. So when I load a patch, the patch has an empty cab……so I have to reload my IR‘s and store every patch new. Crazy when you use different cabs with different patches and you don’t remember which cab exactly was used with all my special patches. All the work must be done again. This happens when you follow the update manual from NUX and you make a factory reset after updating
@@kempman9811 sorry to hear about your troubles. At least you have them saved as backups. Did you reach out to their support about finding out the way to proceed forward? My experience with their customer service is that they are very responsive in replying!

Most of those problems were related to the electrical configuration of some homes that lack of "ground" to cancel the noise.
