I have a comment about this 3d animation, the guy who did this is a hell of a drummer and a animator, I've been playing drums for 24 years and played YYZ for many years and saw RUSH live like 6 times and the work here is just awesome, congratulations on such good work. Sincerely Yours GALLO9
WOW , I'am Really blown away , Great Job, I Love Rush, Neal is one of the best drummers bar none. By far on the best Video on u-tube Well done, Well done.
@PeeceSells Man, thanks for sharing that. I have been listening to them since around 1976. I had no clue that's what the song was about. They are by far one of my favorite bands. I'm from Upstate NY and only about an hour from the border so I feel a close bond to them. Besides, they are phenomenal musicians. Long live Rush. Any more trivia about them? Please share it. Thanks.
Un grandissimo lavoro di grafica 3D ed uno dei brani più belli della Storia !! Awesome job, YYZ is a kickass and this vid IS great, congrats, I'm speechless !! 5 stars and favs !!!
Neil Peart is a perfect example of a drummer with a huge drum set actually USING every piece in a song, not just having it for show. I mean, every standard piece (extra toms, effects cymbals, etc.).
@TankTaur I agree man, I too am a drummer (currently a Music Major) and i appreciate the skill level and attention to detail these artists did. Fantastic work guys!
A true inspiration for myself as a Computer Graphics and Animation student just starting out. I'm also a drummer, and appreciate the accuracy of the drumming animations. I want to do be able to do something like this one day. It's way out of my skill level right now, but maybe in a year or two. Until then, this will be my source of motivation and inspiration. Awesome work.
Rush and Metallica are both incredible and have two of the best bassist (had for Metallica) ever. You can't really compare them. They're just both awesome
That's AMAZING. I wish it would feature the whole band instead of just the drums - the music theory involved is FANTASTIC in this song and it's so hard to make just one aspect a visual.
If there is a line to follow from 1 to 5.... this effort gets 5. Rush is at the top of the rock and roll food chain and the maker of this recreation has my respect :-) I thank you...
The only problem with this is that, when you see through one of the drums from the bottom, it looks like there's no batter head. Aside from that, this is the most epic thing ever put on RUclips.
i salute you, you must put great effort in animating it, perfect timing. i'm cg artist and animator too. i dont like the camera movement though. nice job ;)
This is very well done! Animation synched to music is the next great wave of artforms! Kudos for paving the way! Look forward to more from you and if you need any assistance, tug my line, maybe we could collaborate...
Great thing about this is the multiple "camera" angles. Something that the "live" recordings don't seem to do justice to. It really gives you a "feel" for Neals drumming and the incredible precision of it. You feel like you're right there at every turn. What did you do this with? Thanks for the tribute, its great every time I watch it. Love the high hat sequence that begins @ 2:06.
great animation! i was just thinking about the title yyz today and the intro and outro riffs and it just sort of hit me and I thought "I bet the rhythm is morse code for yyz." looked it up and sure enough. what i didn't realize is that yyz is also the airport identification code of toronto's airport. i guess you can get inspiration for a great song from just about anywhere.
The intro from :28 -1:11 is MORSE CODE for YYZ,the 3 letter transmitter code for Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Listen and you can hear the MORSE CODE for YYZ in the beginning. this is one of the best Drum solos. This group is amazing.
Dear Irishwpo Who do you think you are? this is just... well, where do you get off? by now, you probably realize i am speaking jokingly and I have nothing but good things to say. seriously THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME! THERE IS NO DRUMMER BETTER THAN NEIL PERT!
yeah, I use the ring finger as well. it's also important to build up your pinky on the hand you use to hold down the strings. makes it way easier for faster note transitions.
allmost the bigest drum kit in the world. i got the same 1 but i had to wait for 8 years to get it. it cost me 200k and i saved up for it. it was in perfect condition untill my cat scrached my leg whilst i was playing on it. its now only worth 1.7k becuz its got a huge scratch on the bass drum. it is the best annimated vid ive ever seen but u kinda let the vid down with out any giutar or bass. but more or less very good vid!!!!!!!!! cant wait for the trees vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this IS pretty cool & all - seeing what he did (technically during the "Moving Pictures" recording) but to me it looks a little creepy & disturbing. But although RUSH is the best band ever so all hail RUSH!! lol
depends, what's going wrong? tbh it's a hard song anyway, but if you use more than 2 fingers when playing it you should find it easier, especially for that part at 1:04 if you want you can look up the master track of geddy's playing so you know exactly what he's playing. just look up 'yyz bass track', helped me learn it much better
just wondering, if geddy's doing the bass at the start, who's doing the synth, unless it was dubbed in or he plays the synth while simply L-hand tapping the notes on the bass (which would be awesome)
Totalmente incrível e maravilhoso!!!!!!!!
Parabéns ao produtor e idealizador da animação...
Eu como fã incondicional do RUSH fiquei de queixo caído...
Chota 👍
love the moment of Neil around 2:30. headbob is amazing.
awesome work man, keep it comin

Bloody amazing vid, and Rush was the perfect song to use for it. Drumming was very accurate and YYZ was the best choice. Nice
WOW , I'am Really blown away , Great Job, I Love Rush, Neal is one of the best drummers bar none.
By far on the best Video on u-tube Well done, Well done.
Wow this is really well done. Great song and a great animation to go with. Would be nice to see a bit of the guitar in here as well.
Thanks.
I thought I was a big RUSH fan, but this is way impressive, borderline sick. I bow to the master. Excellent concept, excellent result.
Que pedo con el Cesar chiquito jjijsijs
This is damned brilliant. Breaking down the drum hits and flairs to that detail, and animating it so gorgeously. Damn.
Un grandissimo lavoro di grafica 3D ed uno dei brani più belli della Storia !!
Awesome job, YYZ is a kickass and this vid IS great, congrats, I'm speechless !!
5 stars and favs !!!
damn, this is AMAZING!!! Seriously 0.o
Will you make more of these in the future? :)
Fantastic work guys!
dude this is fucken awesome! I love the Toronto skyline and the animation and fucken everything about this man, way cool
Wish you'd had some foot shots in there, but otherwise, that was friggin' awesome! Love the lightning during the guitar solo.
woa... really cool. what'd you make this with? brilliant with the timing and all.. and the lightning strikes for symbol crashes really cracks me up :)
I was in YYZ and I played this song upon arrival at the airport. Never in my life had it felt so good to be back home.
You're absolutely right, I love both Rush and Metallica, and I don't think one is better than the other, they are both awesome in thier own ways.
Here's to one of the greatest..if not the greatest..drummers in the world!
this is the first rush song i've heard and the best video of a rush song.
it's still my favourite song along with roll the bones XP
Drumming isn't easy... To play this song tightly you have to be really freaking good. Neil Peart is a genius and this song is really quiet hard.
DUDE!!! That was some excellent animation!! Good job brudda!
NICE WORK ! I saw them on the "PRESTO" tour in Frankfurt, amazing drumming!
wow did you make this? its really good animation!
the hand hitting the hi-hat seems a bit odd but it's sure fun watching this. and neil peart himself... flawless like a machine and creative as god.
Holy crap, that was amazing. I'm a huge rush fan and i love 3d animation, so this was spectacular to watch. What program did you use to model/animate?
great work on the video man. Its like a HD video of an even more precise Neil Peart. By the way what program did you use to animate this.
omg that is so cool how did u make this ha this is amazing make a lamb of god one plz plz plz and how olng did it take to make this
the only band that makes us believe in the "freedom of music" nothing can be any greater than rush
The only problem with this is that, when you see through one of the drums from the bottom, it looks like there's no batter head. Aside from that, this is the most epic thing ever put on RUclips.
Man this was epic! This is how they should do the drummer animation in video games, this is fucking awesome!
amazing vid! very well animated! what programs did you use?
Beautiful!!! Amazing video, congratulations on the excellent animation and perfect sync.
Duude :D did u actually make this video?? The animation is awe-friggin-some : ) Congrats!
i salute you, you must put great effort in animating it, perfect timing. i'm cg artist and animator too. i dont like the camera movement though. nice job ;)
This is an AMAZING job. He moves so much like a real drummer. This animation is insanely good.
This is very well done! Animation synched to music is the next great wave of artforms! Kudos for paving the way! Look forward to more from you and if you need any assistance, tug my line, maybe we could collaborate...
AMAZING animation. How long did this take to render? Also, what program did you use, and how do I get it :P
Love the high hat sequence that begins @ 2:06.
lol, 2:18, i think the fisheye on that lens is a little extreme. Look at his head.
Anyways, great job! Very professionally done!
its a good bet this is the best, most accurate and timed drum animation ever made
Yeah that's definitely the coolest thing I've seen all day...maybe all week. Very creatiive.
Absolutely brilliant.Thanx for this!!!
OMFG That very cool :D
The Animation is very fluently love this :)
great animation! i was just thinking about the title yyz today and the intro and outro riffs and it just sort of hit me and I thought "I bet the rhythm is morse code for yyz." looked it up and sure enough. what i didn't realize is that yyz is also the airport identification code of toronto's airport. i guess you can get inspiration for a great song from just about anywhere.
nice video, what program did you use to make this?
One of my favorite "you tubes" of all..........awesome
one day you should try playing guitar, i used to play bass but i started playing guitar and i love every minute of it, although bass was still fun!
How many pieces is this drum set, I'm too lazy to count, awesome animation.
Holy cow that is just brill, kudos to you mate
x
im a very big rush fan not my favorite band but thay are brilliant and a very nice drum kit dude rock on for freedom
Dude that is so amazing how in bloody hell did you accomplish that?!
The intro from :28 -1:11 is MORSE CODE for YYZ,the 3 letter transmitter code for Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Listen and you can hear the MORSE CODE for YYZ in the beginning. this is one of the best Drum solos. This group is amazing.
this guy is gonna get far, like up to the top in animation. designers would beg to have him
This is awesome! Are there any more videos like this for Niel and other drummers?
Dear Irishwpo
Who do you think you are? this is just... well, where do you get off? by now, you probably realize i am speaking jokingly and I have nothing but good things to say. seriously THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME! THERE IS NO DRUMMER BETTER THAN NEIL PERT!
wat program is this done with? this is awesome!
yeah, I use the ring finger as well. it's also important to build up your pinky on the hand you use to hold down the strings. makes it way easier for faster note transitions.
Absolutely astounding bit of CGI work!
Cool. Where did you find this?
im guessing this is motion capture, because it is really smooth
Wait, this is animated?! How long did this take you!?!!?
allmost the bigest drum kit in the world. i got the same 1 but i had to wait for 8 years to get it. it cost me 200k and i saved up for it. it was in perfect condition untill my cat scrached my leg whilst i was playing on it. its now only worth 1.7k becuz its got a huge scratch on the bass drum.
it is the best annimated vid ive ever seen but u kinda let the vid down with out any giutar or bass. but more or less very good vid!!!!!!!!! cant wait for the trees vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this video is straight up amazing, i love the part where it starts raining after the gtr solo
Neil Peart is so awesome, he can play this without blinking!
Agreed, talent can only take you so far. In the end, it's all about how much you practice.
i'm glad i don't have to play that on drums yet, but it is still one of my favorite songs of all time
two things 1 awesome 2 what program did you use to make that
Now that is awesome!!!! Great job man
Wow-this is totally cool! :) Cheers!
@PeeceSells This is awesome! How did you know this?
That is the AWESOMEST thing I have EVER! seen... YOU ROCK DUDE!
Rush has like the ultimate drummer lol and geddy is badass.
Amazing! I would like to see the other members though.
Right around 1:40, when it picks up. It reminds me of a Mega Man song. Or something from DragonBall Z. Awesome.
yea Geddy Lee (the bassist) was on a Toronto airline when the morse code for YYZ came up n took out his bass n played to it... nutz
Danny Carey of Tool still does amazing stuff. Neil and Danny ought to have a drumming duel.
this video's so cool
i love the sounds of the planes flying by and the lightning strikes
this IS pretty cool & all - seeing what he did (technically during the "Moving Pictures" recording) but to me it looks a little creepy & disturbing.
But although RUSH is the best band ever so all hail RUSH!! lol
maybe the best rock song ever, and the video is the most cool ever made, thanks!!
Been awhile since I last watched this! Love it!
u kidding??!!! awsome timing, awsome animation, very smooth
depends, what's going wrong?
tbh it's a hard song anyway, but if you use more than 2 fingers when playing it you should find it easier, especially for that part at 1:04
if you want you can look up the master track of geddy's playing so you know exactly what he's playing.
just look up 'yyz bass track', helped me learn it much better
how can someone even try and compare the jonas brothers to Rush.
Great Job on the Animation Keep it Up
Muuy buena Animacion!
Ademas Neil Peart es Otro Graaaan Baterista!
Veeery nice animation, congrats!
Wooow!!! Great animation and precision!!!
This is awsome!!! gr8 job!!
What program did you use to make this?
No other better drummer than NEIL PEART!!1!!!!!!!
that animation is shit hot dude! imagine if guitar hero took more time to make their games :D
neil peart is awesome...even chuck norris cant play drums on water lol
Lake, but I'd agree. After all, that is Ontario.
Awesome drumming gives levitation.
I think Rush is the only band that could make a kick-ass song from morse code XD
just wondering, if geddy's doing the bass at the start, who's doing the synth, unless it was dubbed in or he plays the synth while simply L-hand tapping the notes on the bass (which would be awesome)
