'Whispering Ted Lowe' voicing the first part of the carling Black label ad. That's John Spencer and Terry Griffiths in action at the snooker table. Another one of the great Leonard Rossiter / Joan Collins 'Cinzano' ads - this is 'Dragoon' from 1983/4. Yes - that is the 'Jaws' theme in the Gold Label ad - 'Tiger' from 1982/3. The Paul Hogan Fosters ads are always quite funny - this one is 'Ballet' (1983/4). I'm certain that's Desmond Llewlyn ('Q') in the Hofmeister ad - a bit distant to make him out but it sounds like his voice, for sure - ad is titled 'Astronomer' from 1985/6. That's Tony Slattery in one of a handful of the Heineken 'Malcolm The Mountie' ads. This one is 'Serenade' from 1988/9 directed by Alan Blake. Greene King voiceover by Simon Bates. Good old Billy Connolly in the early days - this 'Moving Pints' ad from 1989/9 is one of a few he did for them from 1988 - 1993/4! Holsten Pils with Griff Rhys Jones and Sir John Mills. Jones did many of these ads - taking over from Donald Pleasance (other actors dubbed in were George Raft / John Wayne / Humphrey Bogart / James Cagney / Barbara Stanwyck / Edward G Robinson / peter Cushing / Jack Hawkins / Marilyn Monroe / Steve McQueen between 1983/4 - 1989/90). Johnny Vaughan in the Strongbow ad (he did a few of them). Is that Peter Sallis at the end of the Guinness Draught bitter ad? Archer's Peach Schnapps - This aired in 1996/7 and is called 'Deja Vu', directed by Joe Roman for Rose Hackney Barber. Award-winning ad - 1997. Music credited to Dial M. Rutger Hauer did Guinness ads from 1987-1994. Time for another commercial break - lol.
its weird how i remember some of these ads even though i was a young child and not the target market when they were originally shown. With recent bans on alcohol ads on tv before 9pm kids today won't experience the same thing in 30+ years.
Remember these ads well. Interesting factoid about the Guinness ads starring the late Rutger Hauer. Apparently, he was allergic to Guinness and could not actually swallow the stuff. He had to spit it out into a bucket at the end of each take!
I'm probably a minority among Americans in this, but I first learned about Chinzano Bianco from a line in The Golden Girls sitcom as a kid. BTW, I'm sorry for any Brits who read this who had to sit through the poorly attempted remake that was "Brighton Belles". That Heineken commercial is really cringe-worthy. I don't think the US could get away with airing it.
I never fully understood the Heineken advert. The beer's supposed to make good things happen, but the guy falls through the floor after he takes a sip.
Oh, some strong memories being brought back by this. Loved that “Lager of Lamot” ad as a kid (because it was a cartoon), but had forgotten all about it. Can’t recall seeing any other alcohol ads with a style like that. And glad I finally got to some Rutger Hauer Guinness ads. And Hooch? I definitely did not drink large amounts of this while nowhere near 18 yet. Did NOT, y’hear?

Leonard Rossiter in the cinzano ads with joan collins, lived those ads
AMAZING to see the actor who was Ford in the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the gentleman from Rising Damp.
" The Crocodiles ate all the sharks " , what a classic line.
Yeah, one of my most memorable favourites.

I wish the US would do things like that with ads.

That's bizarre! Never heard that before.
Oooo Rutger Hauer. Those eyes.... back when Guinness did decent adverts
Lamot pils and the murphy’s sisters are my favourites.
Fancy seeing Robert Bathurst in the GreenKing Ipa ad. I had a small part with him in Cold Feet, back in 2002.

Ooooo i remember xxxx can you still get it?
Asking for a friend
All I could find on Google are old vintage cans and collectibles, so probably not. Pass the info on to your friend, ok? 😉
Use to love the sherry and port adverts at Xmas do you have them
There are some of those adverts on the Beer & Booze compilations.
