It makes somewhat sense why he doesn't up-b. Idk why you have to leave the screen dormant for a couple of minutes to see the how to play even if he knew he wouldn't of used it
I love seeing everybody's first experience with Smash Bros, of course he said it wasn't his first Smash game but it's still fun to watch. If you do play more of this game I would highly suggest you look at the controls and even learning how to recover since a lot of new players don't know that holding up and pressing "B" (or whatever your special button is) gives you a boost in the air.
Smash controls are fairly simplistic. You have two main types of attacks/moves. The A button does basic attacks and the B button does specials. Then you have different basics or specials depending on which way the left stick is pointing: forward, backward, up, down, and neutral. Forward and backward are left and right depending on which way you’re facing. Then there’s two other types of attacks: throws, and tilts. Using the right stick is a “tilt” which can also be done by pressing the A button at the same time as moving the left stick, and holding the A button lets you charge it up for a bit. Throws are which way you move the left stick when you grab someone. Then there’s also the shield, which blocks other attacks except grabs with a limited amount of time/block duration. Blocking too much damage or holding the shield up for too long results in a “shield break” where you become stunned for a few seconds allowing the enemy to easily land a powerful attack. Each character has a different set of basic attacks, specials, tilts, and throws. After that is the final smash or “ultimate” ability as most other games would call it. The smash logo appears as an item in game that grants the use of an ultimate to whoever breaks it, or there’s an optional game rule “FS meter” which basically charges up your final smash as you take or deal damage. When you have Final Smash it replaces your neutral special with your ultimate move, which for the sword fighter mii is that rainbow slash blades thing you did against the villager. Lastly, is playing with items. Most people play without items to make smash feel more like a fighting game. Items randomly spawn and each do something different with the possibility of turning the tides of a fight, the randomness of it makes smash bros feel more like a party game, especially with 4 players. Because of the randomness, playing without them means the only things to happen in the game are stage hazards or each player’s specific move set which are all fairly predictable. Or you can play with battlefield or final destination versions of stages which are non-moving stages without hazards either flat stage or with 3 floating stationary platforms, they just look similar to the original stages. Playing on battlefield with no items against a single cpu is a good way of understanding the controls and your specific moveset. Keep in mind that beefboss (and a few other characters) currently has a counter set as your down special, which won’t do anything unless someone hits you during the animation. Also most characters’ up special is a “recovery” move which moves them up significantly more than jumping, allowing you to grab the ledge to recover from getting thrown off the stage in addition to their other effects(almost all characters then are unable to use other moves or attacks before landing or getting hit, so you can’t just use the move over and over again).
Him: *Plays SSBU online immediately.* Also him: *Wonders why he doesn’t understand anything.* (The thing is, it’s a game you have to learn and understand. It’s not something you can just pick up and play like wii sports-)
Smash is actually kind of a game you can pick up and play. Other than the earlier games (namely Melee) the smash series is a party based fighter, made for children with wacky stages and items. It can be competitive but there are very few difficult inputs so it bypasses some challanges that more difficult fighters have.
@@kikicrush2594 saying there's very few difficult inputs is bullshit lmao parry fastfall even grabs aren't something kids usually understand and the game doesn't really tell you too

Poof I really hope to see this game come back it's so much fun and there's even a story mode to it. If you do come back to it I'll give you a couple tips. So first most stages especially competitive stages only have so much space for you to move, the rest is offstage. If you fall of get knocked off use the up b to get back. Simply just hold up on the left stick and press b, while doing this hold in the direction of the stage and you should be able to make it back to the stage more often. You should also know the controls pretty well. Basic controls have tap jump on which means pressing up on the left stick haves you jump which is annoying for wanting to do moves such as up tilt and up air. You can adjust the controls however you like and you can switch the right stich to smash stick which makes using smash attacks really easy or you can switch to tilt stick which makes tilt attacks easier. Next the tilts are moves you use in one direction on the ground and aerials are move you use in one direction in the air, they are important and really good to use. These attacks go in all directions such as forward backwards up and down. Finally for moves are the specials which the special button is b. There are 4 specials which are neutral special side special up special and down special. Each character has different specials so make sure to find the right character for you. Also the miis can have their specials changed in the mii creator section. Grabbing, which can be changed in your controls setting, is pretty important too if you want to combo, apply pressure, or just want to get the opponent out of the way. Just tap the grab button and you can pummel your target but if you do it too long they will get out. Once you grab them point to any direction on your left stick and they will be thrown that way. The throw can also kill your opponent which is pretty good so use it when you need to. Unlocking more characters isn't going to take only a couple minutes infact it can take a couple days. Best way to do it is by playing against a computer after every 10 minutes and challenging the new character, don't worry even if you fail to beat the character you still get to challenge the new character and if you fail at that then you can try again. There are more ways such as the story mode which will take a while to beat, or the classic mode where you do 7 challenges and get to face a new fighter in the end. If you want a specific character I would do classic mode because a chart was used for it if you use a certain character, also the classic mode is easy and isn't much of a challenge unless you want it to be. Characters have their own unique move set so you should first figure out what kind of character you want to play first. If you want a character that can take a lot of hits and can do a lot of damage then I suggest Bowser. If you want a tactical character that is also strong and can combo pretty well I suggest Wolf. And if you want to play a character that can spam a bunch of projectiles to overwhelm your opponent I suggest Simon or Richter. Also you can't get better unless if you practice them so use the training mode to figure out Characters moves and fins out which character fits you best, and if it's beef boss then that's fine but you should still practice. Lastly you need to train a fair amount. I've put 1,000 hours into the game and still can't call myself really good at the game. I know that you probably don't want to be a pro at the game and just want to have fun but you should practice for the story mode. Sure you can use spirits that are just broken power ups but you still need to know how the game works if you want to beat the story. Simply watching the tutorial will give you a better understanding. Also practice Characters moves and see if they connect with each other to form simple combos. You can also watch videos on simple combos like a throw into an aerial or something like that. Anyways that should be all for the basics and the rest is for the player to find out. Smash really is a fun game to play with friends or to challenge yourself or just to have fun. Even if Poof doesn't read this, which is highly likely, then I hope I helped at least one person who's new to the game. Anyways have fun playing the game, oh and by the way I main Incineroar if anyone is curious.
Wow, he is actually playing Smash Bros? Oh boy. Time to settle it in Smash. Also, just a heads up. To unlock other fighters, you either have to go through World of Light in the Adventure mode of the game or randomly fight one in a 1v1 after an offline match.

Well if you ever decide to play again, here are the controls. A = jab Left/right/down/up then a = weak attack Flick right stick = strong attack Press a or flick right stick while running = dash attack Flick right stick (while in air) = directional aerial attacks A (while in air) = neutral aerial attack B = neutral special Left/right then B = side special Up then b = up special Down and b = down special Y/X = jump L/R = Grab Flick left stick (while opponent is in grab) = throw D pad = taunt ZL/ZR = Shield Tips Some specific side specials and almost all up specials put you into a state called freefall, where you will not be able to do anything. Make sure to run by flicking the left stick then holding it the direction you want to move. If you flick the left stick upward you jump, but you can change that in your settings if you'd like. Off-rip you get two very good characters in Fox and Pikachu, so I recommend playing them for decent results. Note that every character has a different weight class, and size to be able to be hit more frequently. I enjoy one on ones a lot more than 4-player, so I reccomend playing only one on ones so you don't get screwed with multiple people there. Note that your secondary jump and up special can allow you to recover from dying via falling with most characters. If you want the most bullshit free experience, you can turn off all items and final smash meter in your ruleset. You can unlock more characters by playing offline smash. If you press a while shielding you can immediately grab. Good luck Kienan.
I'm so glad you decided to finally play smash! I love it in my opinion. I also remember commenting one time recommending you to play it. But anyway I'm just actually glad you decided to play it. I also recommend you do one-on-one because it's more fun that way in my opinion.
Funnily enough, this is probably the best smash video I've seen in a while. I'd much rather watch someone who knows nothing about smash and barely anything about Nintendo than the experts who know everything about everything. This at least brings a fresh and interesting perspective, feels more honest. He probably won't, but I hope he does more Smash Ultimate in the future, I liked this one a ton.
I don’t mind either one of the Smash noob vids or Smash pro vids but there is two parts that Poofesure was right about the game which is the mashing buttons to win and when playing with people, you can’t see where you are although of course you could change your tag and choose a different character

Dude you know yourself he will not read this
He didn't even read the in game tutorial

Oh cool you main Incineroar, good for you! Anyways, with that out of the way, *S H U T U P*
Wow, he is actually playing Smash Bros? Oh boy. Time to settle it in Smash.
Also, just a heads up. To unlock other fighters, you either have to go through World of Light in the Adventure mode of the game or randomly fight one in a 1v1 after an offline match.
Before this upload, I was honestly curious if Poofesure would make a Smash Bros video where he already rages and I can’t believe it was granted. Also the Pyra and Mythra part caught me offguard
I thought I sucked at Smash, but after seeing Poof, I suddenly feel good about my skills.
what worse is that me and poof are about the same level. that game is so hard makes no fucking sense i just press random buttons hoping itll do something
@@ninaddemaiosame here bro there’s like 9 million different moves for every character
@@thatcactus. fr thats why i just use kirby all the time bc its the only character where ik how to kinda use other than that i j press random buttons and hope i press the right ones
@@ninaddemaio i main kirby and hes more than pressing random buttons, you could probably to better with dk pressing random buttons lol
"The key is to just jump around, and eat ass."
Words I live my whole life by.
💀😂😂
Smash Bros is a game that you can just tell poofesure will get mad about.
Fr bruh.
this was so difficult to watch and yet so hilarious
As someone who quit playing smash cuz of the shit wifi, this is quite the spectacle. Thanks poof. ☺️
this is funny but frustrating at the same time. seeing him die when he couldve recovered so easily was hard to watch. lol
Honestly same reaction too although he isn’t wrong how part of this game is mashing buttons to win but I get your point where you also have to learn your moveset by simply playing the game a lot and seeing your controls as well as those pro guides
@@cailieisidro5758 "you have to learn your moveset by playing the game" ?????? Do you just telepathicly know your moveset with any new fighter you play?
@@cailieisidro5758 smash is the least button mash to win fighter out there, that title goes to Dragonball fighterz. I have won more games button mashing in fighterz than smash
@@CardiacYew-xt5zq I think he means by using them, not just performing the known action of playing the game.
Well if you ever decide to play again, here are the controls.
A = jab
Left/right/down/up then a = weak attack
Flick right stick = strong attack
Press a or flick right stick while running = dash attack
Flick right stick (while in air) = directional aerial attacks
A (while in air) = neutral aerial attack
B = neutral special
Left/right then B = side special
Up then b = up special
Down and b = down special
Y/X = jump
L/R = Grab
Flick left stick (while opponent is in grab) = throw
D pad = taunt
ZL/ZR = Shield
Tips
Some specific side specials and almost all up specials put you into a state called freefall, where you will not be able to do anything.
Oh yeah, good luck for sure lol ↑ 🤣
I think it would be absolutely hilarious for him to fight someone who actually knows what theyre doing and wipe the floor with him
I couldn't tell if that Young Link player was exactly *that* or was a troll considering that he/she was spamming Fire Arrows and Bombs.
Literally today I was wondering, "Why hasn't Poof ever played Smash?"
*Well Here We Go*
Poof: Finally plays Smash bros.
Joy cons: Ah shit here we go….
0:52 Best description of quickplay I've ever heard
11:51 Donkey Kong got knocked off the screen by Birdo shooting eggs at him.
"There's a horse." Poof says pointing to an Alolan Vulpix
Playing multiplayer games by himself is the strangest gaming niche and I'm glad it's poofesure who's filling that role.
I always imagined Poof playing Smash but I never expected him to play it online immediately!
I'm so glad you decided to finally play smash! I love it in my opinion. I also remember commenting one time recommending you to play it. But anyway I'm just actually glad you decided to play it. I also recommend you do one-on-one because it's more fun that way in my opinion.
"Why do I like this game suddenly?" Story of my life.
I haven’t laughed this hysterically at one of your vids in awhile. Would love to see some more off this from you!
"Now I'm playing with myself."
*cue Beavis and Butthead laugh*
12:15 “I thought Zelda was a guy”
Poof - 2022
*Zelda appears*
Poof: "I'm starting to enjoy this game suddenly."
Poof has discovered waifus in 2022.
4:40 Poofessure is introduced to Pyra and Mythra
I’ve never seen someone who needs Smash training more than Poofesure.
JESUS CHRIST FINALLY MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED HES FINALLY PLAYING SMASH
Not sure why I assumed you were knowledgeable in Nintendo characters but this video has corrected me
Poof not knowing how to play and immediately being placed at 3 million gsp is so entertaining to me
Poof will definitely make it to next summit with this utter domination
3:57 I like how Poof just called the Vulpix a horse 😂
I cannot express to you how much I love this channel.
Never in my life would i have thought Poof hadn't mastered Smash as a kid like the rest of us
?
It's really interesting seeing what he thinks about all the characters, when he's not even familiar with most of them.
Really want to see his reaction to Wii Fit Trainer and her tight ass yoga pants 😂
@@dddgaming885
"Can Poofesure name all the Smash Bros Characters?" Should be a video!
Vulpix: a fire type fox pokemon
Poof: *A HORSE*

He needs to play Battle Revolution
3:58 that hurt my Pokémon fan soul and heart
Same here. He loves the Wii so he needs to play Battle Revolution. It will teach him battling as well as the first four generations of Pokémon
@@The_Uncommon_Cole yeah what Nintendo player doesn’t know Pokémon
@@Dark-Pikachu1 He’s a casual fan and a lot of people aren’t really into Pokémon. Still, watching him try to understand battles would be so funny
Hearing Poof ask why Pyra/mythra is in smash is the best thing ever
Poofesure in smash bros! The Ultimate Rage Begins!!😂😂😂
Kazuya and Aegis. You just felt the pain of fighter pass 2
4:04 - Just to let you know that *THIS* is my favourite Final Smash since Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Yep, if you haven’t heard that Final Smashes debuts in Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii, and yeah.
His scream is one of my *BEST* bit of his Final Smash, including Dr. Mario’s. Yep! There’s two Marios in this game, and yeah.
I think he likes this game 💀👍🏽
Please do a series that's just you learning how Smash Bros works
Beef Boss joins the fight
*Everyone else: It's free real estate*
Poof, make a channel on cars. You’re obviously obsessed with them so I think your enthusiasm and humor would make it entertaining
Someone needs to teach this man, but at the same time it’s already entertaining 🤣❤️
Did not expect to see Poof playing smash today!
lmao he called Vulpix a horse 😭😭😭
LETS GOO POOFESURE!! Your really good at everything you do thank you for everything. ❤
@daltomn2313 Bruh he’s just saying thank you
Smash Bros is a series you can play by yourself! Some of the best single player content out there!
I remember Beef Boss' reveal trailer... Everyone loved it!
I find it funny that a day or two ago that me and my brother were talking about Poof playing smash bros. And here we are watching poof playing smash bros, what a historic moment
1:16 "let's smash again"
Yeah, I can see this is going to turn out well. 😳😂🤣
"I hate smash because it's only about hitting buttons and hoping for the best"
That's actually how you lose at smash. This game is all about using precise movement and the correct moves to outplay your opponents.
Casual wise it is kinda like that
If only i had my switch, i could try to help you. I enjoy helping people learn.
I do have a switch so if you get yours we’d have to help him

“Never really played smash” that’s honestly very surprising to hear Poof say… never would have I expected to hear him say that. I always thought the reason he never really uploaded smash vids cause there’s a lot of players to play as. And he could never choose. But now, hearing this.. now we have the answer..
poofesure's reaction to pyra and mythra was gold lmao
I wanna see Poof fight Steve and see how he feels
