So profound, yet so clearly expressed that even non pianists like myself can understand
    enough to get
something out if these enlightening demonstration lectures.

I bought this tutorial on the website, but disappointedly, there’s no screen picture for the pedal which is what I want to learn.

This is what so many run of the mill piano teachers just won't bother with their students to teach. Thanks so much for your approach Josh.

Do you think you can do a video on the chromatic cadenza? I have almost mastered the first movement and this is the only place I keep getting stuck on. I practice my chromatic scales regularly so I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Hey man, just found you, this vid just blew my mind! But I got a question... At your level, as a professional, if a musician is an artist isn't how you play your piece more a preference to the artist, like an extension of the pianist's expression?? Does it REALLY matter to go THAT exact by the score?? Just curious.

Yes, you do have to honor the composer's intention by making sure the score is followed carefully. Having said that, there are plenty ways one can be creative, and make a performance a unique interpretation.

It would be great if our idiot music community and educators now understand that the first theme of this sonata is played not with a perfect rhythm, but with feeling (passion). I know many pianists who put off playing this piece because they were afraid it wouldn't match the simple intro rhythm. Beethoven is making fun of us all.
