    I have the smaller FS310 bought in around 1985. After all these years and having played many high end guitars, this is still my favourite for tone, comfort and aesthetics. It must be one of the best guitars ever made.

    One of the first guitars I bought was the electro acoustic FX310 . I gave guitar playing up for a long time after never getting the time and not having the space and subsequently got rid of all my gear. I've recently started getting the yearning to pick it up again, and quite honestly, if I were going to buy another acoustic guitar, it would without hesitation be the Yamaha F310 (or even another FX310). Just the sound of one being played at the start of this video instantly reminded me of just what a great instrument I once had.

    It was my 2nd Guitar. I m playing it still after 6 years and I really love to pick it up. Every day, sometimes, just for a few miniutes. My first guitar didn´t give me that comfortable feeling. I can just recommend this guitar for every beginner. And the price is about 150 Bucks. So it is very cheap for what you get.

      @@spookylive2k yup finger tips are some of the most sensitive parts of our body when I started I took of the steel strings of my guitar and put nylon on there until I got use to it after like a month I put the lightest strings available for acoustic and stuck that out for like three months ... i just put 11 52 custom light Elixir strings on and its not bad at all I'm still a noob though 🥳

      @Spiritual_Sniper 4 месяца назад

      @@spookylive2k yes but not too much ... but nylon is very different from steel but i used nylon for chord learning and to Tuffin fingertips ... if changing strings remember that the tension on the guitar from the strings pulling on it will change so you "WILL" have to adjust the neck tension bar thingy XD there is youtube vids about this like i said im still noob and these are things ive learnt along the way that worked for me so far 🥳 oh I forgot if you go for nylon make sure you ask for ball end ones to so they will fit a steel string guitar

    Oh how true that first statement is. I bought a 100 dollar one as my first proper acoustic and it still is not the one im looking for.
    The jangly sound isnt enough
    And its an om sized one.
    Not small at all. I think the quality of the wood matter much more, even if it is smaller.
    Edit: Sounds freaking amazing for the price, but definitely get it a full setup by a luthier.
    The action/string height of this guitar at stock is horrible!!!!
    Not beginner friendly at all. I dont believe in starting out with a painful instrument.
    Everything should be smooth sailing if possible

      Some get better as they age, as the wood dries out. I've had one of my acoustics for many years and it still plays well, it's been refretted a few times, but it still sounds amazing. As someone has said, changing things like the bridge and/or the nut with a bone one or a brass one will completely change the sound as well. Or just add a pick-up and change the sound through a pedal and amp. Adding an amp kind of takes the ease and fun out of just picking up an acoustic guitar when you get chance and it sounding how you want it from the off, so I would definitely look into changing the bridge and nut. Also, get good strings, don't get cheap ones or counterfeit ones, it makes all the difference to the sound.

Could the guitar be goosed? I don’t really want to take it to a shop cause it’d be more cost effective me buying a new one so if anyone has any tips to resolve it I’m happy to work on the guitar. They're different types of guitars. One is a classical, one is acoustic. A classical is played fingerstyle whereas an acoustic can be played with a pick or fingerstyle.

  • @cobacaba
    @cobacaba 7 месяцев назад +21

    It is not. And Yamaha ruins that by themself. It sounds great and manufacturing is great quality for this price. However, I have two point why this is not good for beginners. First, beginners do not have enough strength in their fingers and this guitar frets are so small, that it is hard to play because of that. Second, that there is no inlays in third fret. Beginners is hard to think were their fingers are and this is not make that easier. And what and were beginners play? Ah, yes. Open chords. This combined to first reason, you can't even see that in fret ends. So, exellent guitar for price, but not for beginners.

    • @The_Algae

      I see. What alternative guitars can you recommend?

    • @cobacaba
      @cobacaba 6 месяцев назад +4

      @@The_Algae I don't have any specific. Like I wrote, Yamaha is great, but this one is not for beginners. For beginners my advices are, that 1) guitar neck should definitely fit in you hand. There is so many different types of necks. You know it immediately when you grap it. 2) Frets size matter somehow. Others like smallers than others. Bigger (or higher, whatever..) frets do not need so much strength and that is why those are better for beginners. 3) Start playing with pick. Thousands of different types picks where to choose. That is how you can sounds like musician right away :). Fingerpickin is actually quite difficult. 4) When you buy new guitar, buy and change new string-set immediately. No matter what is price range of guitar, strings are always BS, but those cost about 10$. And for beginners, change like 10-46 set. Way much easier to play and you can't hear anything about sound what pro-players can hear and say "how different" it is. 5) Don't forget the look of the guitar. If you love it, then you just want to grap it and start playing.

      @museum1401 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@The_Algae I'm going to respectfully disagree. The frets are fine. For a steel-string acoustic guitar it's easy to play. If you want something even easier on the fingers you could buy .10 gauge strings or try a nylon string guitar like the Yamaha C40. The lack of an inlay on the third fret might be a minor annoyance for like.. 2 weeks? It quickly becomes muscle memory after that, assuming you put any amount of practice in. Overall, the quality of the guitar is very good for the price and I personally believe that is what makes you *want* to practise.

      I disagree with the finger strenght beginner's need to build it its unavoidable it took me a week to get used to it and a month to get used to bar chords and for such low price it truly is one of the best for beginners

    Why does every review of every guitar say they are great?
    Most cheap acoustics are laminate glue and plywood with terrible quality control.
    And no if the guitar is great for this player BUT ALSO great for this other type… then it’s probably shit for both

      @@acidsetI’ve owned this guitar for a while now and personally I’d say the sound is just not interesting. It’s just a very basic guitar and it feels like it has no personality to me. But does the job. Over the years I’ve had to adjust the truss rod a few times and change strings regularly and it plays nice.
