Jesus tells us to “love one another” as He has loved us, and that when we do, it will show the world that we are His disciples. But how is love defined in the Bible? And how are we to demonstrate this kind of love to others? The world today defines love in a very different way. It uses “love” as a cover for tolerating and accepting all kinds of sinful behavior, and if you object, you are labeled as unloving. But true love reflects the love of the Lord as revealed in the Bible-sometimes it’s tough, sometimes tender; sometimes confronting, sometimes caring; sometimes challenging, sometimes encouraging. Our job is to know Jesus so that we can show the love of Jesus to a world that needs to know His transforming love.

So many emotions with this sermon! My mom was an alcoholic, my family is broken. My dad died when I was 18 (I loved him very much). I was saved around 12 or 13 yrs old. The church was going on a horseback trail ride (shortly after being saved) and they weren’t going to let me and my friend go because we wore jeans. (We both rode horses daily, I know what a saddle will do to bare legs) They wanted us to wear coulottes. So I had to wonder about the church if Jesus walked in with tattered clothing and messy hair, how would they treat him? My older sister moved away because she couldn’t stand my mothers harassment. My brother was quite a bit younger and had a great life, except he didn’t know anything about God. My mother is 80 and I despised and resented having to take her to her many Drs appointments 60 miles away, after this sermon, I do it lovingly. I didn’t realize how broken I was. I hit my knees and begged God for forgiveness. You are amazing. Please keep speaking the word of God.

A tall order indeed. Impossible to achieve in the flesh, in our our strength, but possible with the help of Gods' indwelling Holy Spirit and our cooperation, obedience and sacrifice.

I challenged my Adult children about their bad behaviour. Now they have abandoned me. They don't want to be told, they are rebellious, self-centred and selfish. I love them and have been praying for them for years. Now, I have put them on Pause and left them to God, I can't do anything for them anymore.

It's not a commandment because it doesn't come naturally it's a commandment because it would be sin to do other wise so god made it a commandment to hold us accountable and so we know we're held accountable
To many coments it takes away from the WORD Keep to the bible.
Have you ever heard a sermon where someone just quoted scripture with very few comments? I have. It’s not a good method - it’s just too much to ingest. A sermon has to be engaging and it has to make the listener identify with it.
