In an alternate universe this is probably considered one of the darkest moments in tv history and ofcom probably launched an inquiry after numerous complaints only thing wrong with the video is none of the camera crew or possible audience screamed or said something like "holy shit someone call an ambulance" when Derren brown pulled the trigger
The reason for the camera crew not speaking or screaming is because I like to think they would’ve been in shock or stunned to speak

There actually weren't any camera crew in the room during the stunt, they all left before the stunt as it's seen on the full episode meaning the only person who could say anything would've been the singular audience member
@@emrebilal Yeah, it was filmed on Remote control cameras and the physical camera crew left after the participant chose a Live round from a pack of bullets when the Armourer demonstrated.
Yeah before he started playing the cameraman left the set downstairs, the only person who was there was the one who Darren chose to help him by placing the bullet into a revolver chamber and placing the custom shield over the chamber, Darren then asked them to sit behind a bulletproof screen.
I love the announcer's reaction to someone's death here. "Well um, that wasn't supposed to happen!"
I mean that's basically how the news presenters reacted to 9/11.

October 5th 2003: Channel 4 displays a temporary fault screen during the broadcast of an episode of Derren Brown, after a stunt went wrong live on air. The episode, which featured Brown playing the infamous game of Russian Roulette, was being broadcast on a 15 minute time delay, which meant that Channel 4 had time to cut away from the feed before the incident was shown. The feed later switched to a rerun of Mind Control, before it was announced that Brown had died as a result of the freak accident.

First of all, yes it made me jump at 0:07! This (not the incident, but how you’ve produced this mock), is so perfectly done! I remember watching this live when it actually happened and thought, yes he is an illusionist and knows what he is doing, but one moment or lapse of concentration and this COULD go wrong. I reckon the contingency for what could have happened if it had gone wrong has been brilliantly replicated here! For something like this, even in 2004, there must have been a momentarily delay in the live broadcast to allow them to cut away if needed. I don’t know if you accept requests, but a similar thing to this is when Magician Paul Daniels performed his Iron Maiden stunt, would be interesting to see (in MocksEAS video form) that stunt, in the scenario it had gone wrong. @@mockstv9739Thanks for your response! Derren Brown isn’t to everyone’s taste, but there is just something captivating about him performing the stunts. Thank goodness this didn’t go wrong, but this really is what Channel 4 hopefully had as a back up contingency for, if something didn’t go according to plan.

I remember watching this derren brown thing with my uncle when I was like 5 because my uncle was a big fan of derren brown (not sure if he still is because i havent seen him in like 4 years), and obviously I was only little so I had absolutely no idea what was going on, Basically i was sleeping round my auntie and uncle's house the night it was on I couldn't sleep so my uncle asked if i wanted to sit downstairs with him and watch tv and my auntie was at work the night, and now when I watch it I think why on earth did I agree to watch this with my uncle! But tbf even if something like this did happen on the show, I'd still have no clue and just think meh!

It’s all part of the plan. He was hooked up to a malfunctioning life support system, on his own request before recording the stunt, that is designed to flatline and “kill” him. He’ll be back before you know it.
