Well... i agree. I gave up on it half way. I got to know enough about the game and i had no interest in more hours of the same. But, yes, this is a game designed for an age past. This is what gets lost in new generations. These things were amazing back then. The fact that these games were possible at all was mind boggling. I feel it's easy to see this with the Game gear Sonic games. They are utter trash nowadays for anyone who played even the genesis games. But, back then, when you couldn't afford it and were just a kid with your 8 bit console, a game that scrolls that fast and has colors and has Sonic. It was an amazing master piece. Games came a long way and people who didn't experience the time, do not understand the appeal. Because yes, there is no more appeal. It's not the same time anymore. That is what happened here as well. There was a time where a game like this was just amazing for just existing. This was a game with characters you could see, not just a pair of dots, with environments, with multiple songs, with an amazing deep job system at the time and there was hardly anything else this engrossing. You wanted to spent time in that world and you would be thrilled when you came across an item that progressed the game. The grinding was supposed to happen naturally as you explore the game. Nowadays? This does not come across, of course. We got much better games in every way that this is a complete waste of time. But, next time you play an old game and ask yourself "what is this crap? How can anyone have liked this?", that is the why. The time it was released and the world we had then. Context, in short.
