Most of the beats reminds me of my traditional dances from my region in Cameroon especially the Njang dance. Really enjoyed this thanks for making us experience other countries cultures much appreciated
Awesome! I didn't even know many of these dances and I live here! Zim has unfortunately become largely whitewashed as a result of colonialism. Most zim ppl r mordenised. We don't wear traditional clothing here our diet looks westernized only thing we really retained is the maize meal thick porridge which goes by many names in africa eg sadza, isitshwala, pap, nshima etc and of course all the different types of green veges we eat
I beg to differ my sister, the people in the rural areas are the ones who are keeping our culture and traditions alive, unlike the ones who live in the urban areas. In the rural areas they practice traditional dancing in primary and secondary schools, which is part of their extracurricular activities at schools
You should also watch the Chibuku Neshamwari Dance Festival organised by Delta Beverages, in conjunction with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe National Traditional Dance Association. The competition is done across the countries' 10 provinces and then participants are chosen to represent their province at the national competition. This year it started on the 28th of May 2022.

I can hardly balance anything on my head-let alone do such energetic dances with something perched on top. Also can we just take a couple of minutes to appreciate the costumes? The amount of time that must have gone into them. Even the practice costume are gorgeous. I love the exuberance, it’s not step perfect but beat perfect.
I liked them all, they had their own meaning behind each dance and I just love learning about ALL CULTURES...DANCING INCLUDED. So honestly I would love to learn all of the dances

The amount of time that must have gone into them. Even the practice costume are gorgeous. I love the exuberance, it’s not step perfect but beat perfect.
