@@crispinswainstonharrison9042 who do you think Black Americans & Afro Latinos are? We are still children of Africa! Slavery did not completely erased the African. It’s in the food, the music, the rhythm, the dance all throughout the Americas. Where do you think pop, hip hop, rock & roll, blues, jazz, salsa, sosa, reggae comes from? Even the banjo in blue grass comes from Africans! Where do you think break dancing,b-boys, jitter bug (whites called it the Lindsey), tap dancing comes from? Everyone around the world knows jazz, R & B, rock, hip hop, pop. Just about every country got b-boys & girls including China. Yes China has rap & hip hop! African drums, rhythm, dance has influenced the world through her children in the Diaspora.

Used for celebration, prayer, war, summoning of spirits, and social gatherings, dance also serves the purpose of keeping the body limber which is essential for hunting and gathering. Dance also helps to reduce stress. My wish is that the whole world would return to daily dance.

I can hardly balance anything on my head-let alone do such energetic dances with something perched on top. Also can we just take a couple of minutes to appreciate the costumes? The amount of time that must have gone into them. Even the practice costume are gorgeous. I love the exuberance, it’s not step perfect but beat perfect.

African dances, music, language and food in my opinion reign supreme. I might be biased as my mother is Eritrean-Ethiopian. Regardless of where we come from we are human. Love to Zimbabwe from UK 🇬🇧
