if you're on the highway at night, the perfect abum to listen to is Dr. Yen Lo - Days With Dr. Yen Lo...it legit feels cinematic with the highway lights and cars passing...you're welcome in advance..

I love how your videos inspire me to revisit albums I’ve not listened to for a while. Also your inclusion of the Cure compilation made me realize I’d not listened to that particular one (my goto for way back in the day had been Standing on a Beach). Guess I need to work on my “compilation albums to check out” list some more 😊

It’s unfortunate that Myke doesn’t like Modest Mouse since This is a Long Drive… and The Lonesome Quiet West always work for me on long trips

  • @andrewrichard7065
    @andrewrichard7065 Год назад +1

Man. All this singing from Myke took me back to watching those original vinyl collection videos. Good stuff.
    Personal list:
    Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
    Replacements - Let it Be
    Sturgill - Metamodern
    Charles Wesley Godwin - Seneca
Dinosaur Jr. - Where You Been
    Pixies - Doolittle
    Al Green - Greatest Hits
Brother Ali - Shadows on the Sun
    John R. Miller - Depreciated
    Bad Religion - Suffer

I'm literally on an 8 hour road trip currently as I type this. Looking forward to watching this! Here I'll drop some of my favorites.
Aquemini is a must for me, good length that will take up a good chunk of a drive, and a nice vibe that pretty much anyone can get into.
For similar reasons, I also love to bring Lupes Food & Liquor.
    Midnight Marauders is a must.
When life gives you lemons from atmosphere is one I always bring as well
Outside hip hop i always bring along some Perfect Circle, London Calling by the Clash, and Rocks by Aerosmith for my father, since he usually joins the trips.
    Those are my must brings.

Always start pretty much every road trip with Queens of the Stone Age’s “Songs for the Deaf”!
Also just want to mention that if you like Operation Ivy there’s actually a TON of modern Ska bands that are killing it right now! JER, Catbite, Bad Operation, We Are The Union and so many others!

    • @ExplosiveAction

Songs for the Deaf is a great road trip album. The radio station flicking samples helps too.

First of all, I'm from Italy, so for me 90+ minutes road trips are already long!
WIth that said, I'm more of a guy that listens to new albums during long trips, because I feel like being on the road doing nothing but driving is the perfect pair for some fancy discoveries. I remember enjoying stuff like Children of God by Swans, Mahler's 9th symphony, Sadness Will Prevail by Today Is The Day, Aesthethica by Liturgy, Throbbing Gristle tapes... Man, I love "disc&drivin'"!

ok I seriously just got taken right back to high school when you started singing that right here in my arms... man I really need to go listen to some him, I haven't in a while but I too really really loved that album, I used to listen to it non stop but it's been like 10 years since I've heard it so now it will sound both nostalgic and new again :) btw do you ever purposely ignore albums (even favorites) for years so it will be almost like hearing them for the first time ?
