Had mine 2 months now and got 6000 kms on it. The demo model I tried had mental buffeting but with the correct hight screen you get absolutely no buffeting, its like being in a bubble. Once you get used to it you can throw it around like a moped and it corners like my CBR Blackbird. Having reached the age of 50 and riding long distances I have to go for comfort, rode 680 kms only stopping to fill up and stepped off as if I had been on it for 10 minutes. I actually thought about turning around and doing it all over again. Great bike and the boot space is bigger than my car. Hope you enjoyed it.
"corners like my CBR Blackbird" .....Hmmm.... Are you serious? Are you really saying that this chromed up steam train corners like a performance racing bike? I think this says more about your cornering technique than anything else.
I have been riding for over 45 years had a lot of bikes now I ride a HD ultra limited 2016 .all I can say it's a great motorcycle. Only thing I changed was windshield perched the largest one I can find and a drivers backrest.
benjahnz Thanks. It's the other end of the spectrum of bikes I normally ride, so I was ridding it like a bit of a noob! Still managed to have some fun with it though ;)
That's been Harley Davidson’s standard line for a long time. HD state that this bike makes 99.6 ft-lbs of torque which IS a until you consider how big the motor is. To illustrate this, consider a KTM Superduke 1290. It makes 106 ft pounds of torque, peak power is 180 Hp and has a dry weight of 417 pounds (189 KG). The Electraglide weighs 879 lbs wet. Which bike do you think would be more fun to ride?
You had me at "It's the other end of the spectrum of bikes I normally ride, so I was ridding it like a bit of a noob!". And, I think you gave a great review from that perspective and with you being a taller guy. It is what it is as a review - I'm not sure about your detractors. Detractors, if you wanted a video other than this one, go watch it instead of watching this video and taking the time to text your bitching about how it doesn't conform to your idea of a...you get it, right? Just insert your own 'logic' on videos as you did on bikes? lol
Have you driven a bike that would be good on the motorway(freeway) and not vibrate your head from buffeting at freeway speeds? I am about 6 feet with a long torso and short legs and live in Houston with a lot of high speed motorway driving and flat straight country roads..very few curves and twisties. Wondering about some options other than Harley? I would probably have the helmut buffeting issue on this also as well as a Goldwing?
Old Boy, you're ridin it like an American cop...shift points are perfect...this is all about torque not revs as you know. I'm not quite 5 8 so this may work for me.
At 5" 8 i would probably just go with the regular ultra. Strangely the regular height ultra feels easier to manage, especially at low speed. Less buffeting too. But you're right about the torque. So many riders get so hung up on hitting the red line while ignoring the actual torque curve of the bike. My fireblade works well at the redline, but this ultra makes all its torque down low. Much quicker to short shift rather than rev it out. I'm sure you could tune the shit out of it though!
I have a 15 I had it up to 105 had plenty more to go you're getting out of the torque curve for the stock cam at that point but it still pulls simple cam upgrade like a Comp Cams 3101 with the 10:1 compression this thing's already got would be a monster
bennie, if you like sport bikes then ride sport bikes, nothing wrong with that whatsoever. but why spend 15 min. on a video of a large cruiser when all you are going to do is cry like a little girl because it's not a sport bike? seems like a waste of time, don't you think?
+nunofyer fingbizness Ok, you're gonna have to give me some examples of when im 'crying like a girl because its not a sports bike' . This was the first time I'd ridden a bike like this so I was simply comparing it to previous bike I'd ridden. Sorry if you got butthurt because someone make a fair critique of your beloved Harley and it's handling characteristics.
rewatch the vid. no offense, just seemed like you were spinning your wheels. the whole reason for existence of cruisers is to not bust corners, or go fast. it's easy starts, slow shifts and lots of comfortable miles. a thousand miles from a sport bike. but each to his own. I just keep seeing young guys get on a cruiser and be amazed that it doesn't do sport bike stuff, or that the engine shakes, or whatever. not to worry, bennie. my butt is totally unhurt. I don't need you to like what I do, anymore than you need my approval of your choices. go you're way in peace.
+nunofyer fingbizness Ok, so I watched the video again and I still don't get your point. At numerous times in the video, I explain that this is a bike for long distance touring and not high speed. At one point in the vid, I even say that it's pointless buying a bike like this for riding quickly on. I spend more time comparing it to the Harley breakout than I do a sports bike.and not once do I ever express amazement at it not feeling like a sports bike. I see a lot more evidence against your argument than for it tbh. It's almost like you didn't watch the whole video or just heard what you wanted to hear and disregarded the rest. It's all very well you saying 'no offense', but your remarks come across as passive aggressive and a little condescending. Name calling and making exaggerated claims is no way for an adult to argue their point.
don't take it hard, bennie. old people get cranky and off their meds sometimes. and I was never accused of being too easy to get along with. my 15 road glide is the first bike I've owned that had an electric starter and turn signals on it. most of us are dead and the rest are dinosaurs, fossils walking around. most are in better temper than me. those were different times, rougher and less kind than now. then it was settled face to face, few broken noses and teeth and it was done. now it's scream at each other over the net, or blow their heads off with a pistol. not my world anymore, not a good fit for it like before. don't let me slow you down.

+geoffoisback Turning around and doing it again? Man, that's some great comfort and thanks for sharing.

love my 2014 ultra classic i ride 30,000+ miles per year and go to 15 to 20 rallies a year once your use to the weight its like riding a cruiser

I would love one of these. Good video by the way. Enjoyed watching it.
1700CC, nearly half a tonne and less than 100HP. Yup sounds like a Harley. Great review.
benjahnz Thanks. It's the other end of the spectrum of bikes I normally ride, so I was ridding it like a bit of a noob! Still managed to have some fun with it though ;)
How much HP is it?
But what about the torque since that is what matters.

benjahnz and what rpm do each make their torque? Ohhh it takes the duke 8000 rpm to make that torque.
Not sure if it's due to the over-regulation in the UK, but that thing sounds neutered.
@Timmy Schummer Why bother? Just download movies from The Pirate Bay or any other torrent site. Don't waste your time or money with flixzone.
I don't like Harleys, but I must admit I like the cockpit.
Keep 'em coming!
NonciclopediaForEver I have another vid in the works. Something a little bit special.....and red!
Great review

+Scienciness Gutt Thanks. Glad you could appreciate this video for what it is.

So what are the differences between the Ultra Limited Low and the Electra Glide Classic Low? Any ideas ?
Its made for long American interstate cruising, not bombing around the English curvy roads :)
Where exactly is your cam mounted?
So what's the button do? Hmm.
when r u going to back in nepal?
hopefully around November/December this year
Your bike has apparently been neutered..
ah.... but the real review comes when you travel from Washington... to Florida....
What is top speed?

@@roberthoffrichter5387 Thanks for reply, safe and sound.
test ride a Honda Goldwing.

I'll get one of them as soon as I'm old, fat and disgusting.
You're already there, goober.
