Satchel is actually a really one of the best teachers of all these famous guitar players. If you look beyond the Image that he acts you can really learn alot from him
lol I love this. Steel Panther are all A list musicians who are actually doing the 80's metal genre better then the bands of the 80's....as a parody lmao not to mention they are some funny fuckers. Anyone who gets flustered by these guys....the jokes on you haha
A Steel Panther video on RUclips. This is always where you can separate the people who "get it" and have a sense of humor and can understand what it's about, and the ones who see everything in black and white and are 'ultra-serious" (I have my "ultra-serous" face on as I type that, it's not as ugly as my avatar though, so rest easy).
Funny as fuck, and one hell of a guitar player. I really like the Lynch example, as I see a lot of Lynch in "Satchel's" playing. Great teacher too I think. Kick-ass video.
Maybe someday Steel Panther will experience what all the great 80s metal bands did and struggle with getting old and trying to remain relevant while some young 80s metal cover band cover band makes their mark and fattens stacks in parody and homage to them. ....Live this Saturday at the Dumpy Pumpkin Fairgrounds and Casino! The original Steel Panther! With special guests stainless steel panther and cold steel panther! This will be the 25th anniversary tour of their last tour! You won’t want to miss it. Lol
Please, Russ Parrish taught at GIT years ago with Paul Gilbert, played in War & Peace with Jeff Pilson from Dokken and has been part of the metal scene for over two decades. Dude could've easily played Marty Friedman's role in Megadeth back in the day. Had similar chops. Great player who's having fun in a hair metal project that's actually making some good cash. Went from Key Club and Roxy residencies on the Strip, doing covers, to writing their own parodies and throwing a great party. Would rather see this show any day of the week over the majority of relics at Rocklahoma.
itsCONTROVERSY Holy shit, how miserable are you. They've actually put out four albums of original stuff as recently as this spring, got away from the covers, tightened up their act and are currently tour opening for Judas Priest, but carry on with your war stories about crossing paths on the produce aisle, you cretin.
"Its a new Slayer song, they can have that one." LMFAO 😂😂😂
This guy is obviously hilarious. I have to get to a Steel Panther show soon.
Was waiting for him to make a joke about how his grandpa had a stroke and James Hetfields grandpa probably had a downstroke xD
Satchel is actually a really one of the best teachers of all these famous guitar players. If you look beyond the Image that he acts you can really learn alot from him
He was an instructor at git in the 90s
Even if you don't look beyond it, he's still great because he's funny and he has a lot of personality which helps to stay focused and interested.
its all about having fun, and we sure need that these days,
blueeyes213 That’s the truest damn thing I’ve read in a while I get so anxious and frustrated practicing that I forget it supposed to be fun..
Thanks for clarifying that

I really like Satchel. He is fun and knows how to do it.He's a good guitar player too.And of course his sense of humor.
Steel Panther is a cool metal 80's joke, and satchel plays it like spinal tap so perfect!!
Instead of watching stand up comedians I always watch Satchel.
This guy is fuckin' amazing...
He was an instructor at GIT and also Paul Gilbert's band mate (The Electric Fence) in the eraly 90s,
\m/
If u touch paul gilbert once you automatically get 6 months of guitar knowledge.fact.
Legend had the chance to meet this guy and the singer
Satchel is the only one who can teach you a Steel Panther track along with Metallica, Slayer, ACDC and Rush licks thrown in.
I love when he’s being Satchel and a goofball but when he talks about music he really becomes Russ Parrish. Monster player.
My favorite Steel Panther riff from their first three records!
I’m a drummer and I love watching these
12:01 that harmonic.
Fucking amazing dude... holy shit
"one of these days you are gonna call me and I'll be like: how did you get my number, man? what the hell"
satchel used to play with Atomic Punks, a van halen tribute band
With Michael Starr singing for them
funniest guitar player on earth.....
Funny as fuck, and one hell of a guitar player. I really like the Lynch example, as I see a lot of Lynch in "Satchel's" playing. Great teacher too I think. Kick-ass video.
That Kramer is so clean even when distorted..
Amp, pickups and speakers are doing 99.99% of the sound.
"I'm strokin'!"
Great tone!

Sounds kinda like a Ratt riff. I dig it.
How does this guy manages to be funny 24/7 ?
😂😂 the beginning sounds like lack of communication.
Do you guys think Satchel is using a stock Kramer? Or some super modified version?
cool guitar lesson!
I haven't gotten like my last two guitar worlds...
His Strokeability is amazing lol. Let's play a game take a shot every time he says stroke
Came here for the humor and accidentally learned how to play the guitar.
This man is fucking GOD.
Satchel - " How the hell you get my number man ...? "
Me - " lucky guess ! "
Russ Parrish is a fucking awesome guitarist
Fuck i'm always laughing with this guy you cannot take him seriously xD
But he is a good guitarists nonetheless
Ahaha he's a brilliamt comedian
I swear, I was thinking the same exacts thing. I never heard of the band, but ran across his videos. Funny dude.
Figure 1 is fucking killer
This guy is funny as shit
I just realized from the shape of the chord that C sus 2 is also G add 6
And I learned B# is C
Thank you!
Kiana Shotgun =)
I actually really like pretty much all of their riffs... They are really talented despite the stupid lyrics

Hey satchel is there any lessons you can give on hair maintenance. Love the git lessons by the way
Ask Lexxi Foxx dude, 10/10 hair maintenance
Is he purposefully trying to hide the Darth Vader image on his shirt? Because at 4:12 you get a glimpse of the dark one. (No, not that dark one)
Cool.....
Satchel is a bad ass on guitar. I really wish they would do at least one serious album.
check out the band Fight
I just wish the cameraman would’ve looked at the screen. He cut off Satchels head most of the way 😢
How do i get that sound tho!
Wait which retirement home is it? I got kicked out of the last one
You don't need to buy a metronome it's a free app.
Slowed down it sounds like Robin Crosby-RATT
Stay away from my granny Satchel! hahaha!
Are the tabs in the Guitar World issue?
This guy is hilarious. Thats for sure..
Mark Tremonti (Alrer Bridge, Creed) writes the songs for Panther, he should demonstrate these songs!
Zolier that is bullshit lol
Where's the rest of the song???????
JH uses upstrokes - Fight Fire With Fire, Battery, Disposable Heroes :P
6:03 HAHAH!
What's the song playing for the intro?
Death to All But Metal from their album Feel the Steel
holy shit LOL
What guitar dose he have
Kramer Pacer Custom
One of the gayest-looking guitars ever
satch boogie
Anyone else guess that this guy was 44????? He sure doesn't look it!
Ari Elfasi sounds about right
Satch is awesome but he looks like Jim Harbaugh with a wig, lolol
8:02 XD
tbf Metallica could do with a new lead guitarist.. and a new drummer.. and a new singer..
Metallica just needs to retire.
People who think they are better than Iron Maiden are insane
satchel....the ultimate role model for burgeoning guitarists...
Strokability
eb tuning or standard tuning?? kick ass tone...
Eb
Awesome riff. Disturbing song.
Good guitar player though.
OMG PEWDIEPIE GUITAR

NOT TO BE RUDE BUT I PLAY GANGBANG AT THE OLD FOLKS HOME PERFECTLY ON GUITAR.
+Hayden Patterson ok
It has been four years. Have you fixed that caps lock key yet?
pink guitar, purple wrist band, long hair girly clothes, the thumbnail made me think a chick was playing :O
Looks like someone still thinks it's the 80's
Looks like someone still tells shitty jokes
He really shouldn't talk. Just play.
Sorry but hetfield is 10x the rhythm player this guy is
James Rockford nope
Um no
Lmao no. This dude actually graduated from MIT and played along with paul Gilbert
This guy talks too much! Get too it brother.
