My recommendation for hosting your WordPress website is DreamHost and specifically their "Shared Unlimited" yearly plan (the exact plan I've used for 19 years). If you use my link to DreamHost it helps support my RUclips channel and costs you nothing extra: click.dreamhost.com/aff_c?offer_id=8&aff_id=17231
That sounds like the "eating your vegetables" version of binge-watching Netflix. Haha, but seriously, thanks for the kind words; glad you enjoy the videos!
I know this has been on RUclips for a while, but I have just started learning Wordpress development, and this is by far the best learning material I have come across. The way you have covered not only the Wordpress part but also all the Javascript and related concepts, one could not ask for any better. Thank you so much for getting this across!!!
I agree with you. His teaching style is some of the best. There are newer and better ways of makeing the ajax calls nowa days. Brad Traversy has a really good course on modern Javascript. His teaching style is a lot like this guy.
I think that this is no one of the best ever tutorials of wordpress i've seen... this is THE ONE AND ONLY best ever tutorial about Wordpress Theme Development on RUclips and i dare to say that on the internet, Incredible work, congratulations you are an excellent teacher!
I work 30 yrs in IT, so far mostly networking but now switching more to development. I really like your style! Everything is really clear, it has its tempo but it's not to fast. Keep doing great work. Thank you
When I started playing this video I recognized your voice. I watched the Udemy advanced WP tutorial earlier. Best wordpress tutorial out there. I did not know you had a YT channel. Subscribed !
Your truly a gift my friend. I have several different learning disabilities and you teach and explain things so well I have only had to watch your videos 1 time... when I normally have to watch dozens of times from other instructors. Please let me know where you are actively teaching please!
Hello. Do you know how special this video series is for me. Before watching this course, I was not interested in coding. I just used to download free WordPress themes and use them. But one day, I was just searhing on RUclips to know, how a theme is created. And I found this video series. I really loved the way you explained everything. And after wathing this series, i decided to learn more. I am learning and creating WordPress themes from about 2 years now. And now. I am going to start my online business. I am going to sell Premium themes and plugins online. Thanks you very much.
You're seriously one of the best teachers out there for web development and wordpress. You've got a pleasant way of talking, everything is clear and explained in an uncomplicated way so things seem really easy to do! Thanks for all the work you've put into this!
i learn from your wordrpess course on udemy. that was really really to the point clear and practical , Thank you so much now i am a Wordpress developer and building big projects and started my career . Thank you once again . Love from India.
You have a gift. I've been designing for about 5 years but recently started leaerning the JS stuff and I read lots of tutorials and also watch lots of videos but your videos stand out. You provide just the right amount of information and explain things in a very clear succinct way but are very thorough. Hard to explain, please keep it up.
Dear Brad, I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for this incredible RUclips video. Your insights and expertise were truly inspiring and incredibly helpful. Thank you for the effort and passion you put into creating such high-quality content. Keep up the fantastic work! I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future. Best regards, Will
For anyone having trouble loading in initial javascript console.log message in the wp_enqueue_script function, try leaving out the version number aka the 1.0. This fixed my problem and the "Hello from main.js" printed to the console.
Clear and to the point! Enjoyable and stress free learning resource. Easy to understand; no need to "decode the teacher's communication style to access the information". Good Teaching Speed. Love it.
This completely blew my mind! I've been using WordPress for a while and this tutorial makes so much sense as I've just covered AJAX and PHP at University, thank you so much :)
I had been on Lynda.com taking lessons, but this series of tutorials was more informative, and covered the general WP architecture better than anything I have found so far! WordPress documentation SUCKS, although it is still a good reference. I think they don't really care about expanding their user base too much. You have been a godsend. Thank You, thank you, thank you!!
It's also for me and for those who need it, to get to the related point quickly: 18:56 - How to write the GET method 22:51 - How to show data from GET in html 25:21 - Tutorial beginning for the POST method - this have to take care I may expand my comment the further I watch the video.
You Mr. have an outstanding way of teaching. I'm merely repeating what others have said already, but it can't be said often enough. Extremely comprehensive and perfect pace. Huge thumbs up for your work here. I only dropped by because I was curious what you had to say about Rest API, but I got hooked onto your teaching style and I almost watched this video like a movie. Outstanding work Sir! Will visit again for sure.
Brad, I suspect the Head Coder at LearWebCode is not you but Professor Meow (I am enrolled in your WordPress and Laravel courses). Seriously, you are a world-class technology teacher.
perfect explaining the rest API concept without meshing up JSON or AJAX, fortunately I am well aware of JSON and AJAX so this video was nice grasp for me. Thanks for posting this wonderful tutorial
I found your channel by searching for Sublime Text tutorials and I'm so happy that I did. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and I look forward to all your future videos.
I really like the way you presented this! Im an iOS developer, but wanting to use the WordPress REST API to communicate between my app and wordpress site. Just wanted to take some time to say thanks !
Maybe thi is the greatest tutorial I ever seen! Technically perfect, clear and very useful . Also your way of speaking is incredibly understandable for my level of English (I'm italian). 5 stars for you!!
Yo Brad. I came here to get a head start on one of your modules in the Udemy become a Wordpress Developer course on Udemy. I have to say you are one of my favorite instructors so far. Your style of teaching really resonates with me and has been extremely helpful. I purchased a couple more of your courses and am very grateful to you for all of your instruction.
Please note for TASK 2, as of version 4.5 in wordpress, the standard method to pass data from a php file to js has changed from using the `wp_localize_script()` to using the `wp_add_inline_script()` function. Infact wordpress doc recommends : `wp_localize_script()` should only be used when you actually want to localize strings.
Great tutorial! I tried to learn AJAX a while ago and it's one of the few things that I had to give up on because I couldn't figure it out, but thanks to your video now I managed to make it work. Question - if I want to update post contents, do I need to learn how to generate another nonce? This "nonce" security thing, I didn't quite understand it, I'm just glad it works the way you showed it.
Hi- great video - Could there be issues with the rest api that leads to post pages being "not found" - they appear in the dasboard/posts - but can no longer be accessed by browser?
Thanks for this interesting video. Only one tips you should add before to start is to tell to set up the permalinks settings, otherwise the rest api will return a 404 page not found error
The best tutor out there in my opinion. The style of teaching is the just brilliant. Keep it up. Also if you can please make course about websockets and regular expressions it will be awesome as I always have problem understanding that. Thanks for this though.
hahaha, the snack break - nice touch! and you are seriously one of the top tutors on yt! your effortles transmission of knowledge shows how well you understood the topic at hand! very impressive! thank you!
Hi Brad, thank you for amazing tutorial on how to load more portfolio items. Quick question, how do we keep loading the 10 posts every time button clicked Instead of loading all the posts once?
Bro you have done a good job nice tutorial keep going like this. If you have a chance please upload custom rss feed url generation video.....few days onwards i am very much confused about this topic.
yeh man, Brad rockes fo sure. I successfully implemented task #1... can't thank you enough. I have enrolled your Udemy course cuz you teach like a boss. Hey. Just wanted to say great stuff. I also bought your course on Udemy still at the begging. Love it a lot though. But had a question, not sure if you had anyone ask it yet. But do you plan on creating some courses that focus more on JavaScript single page app dev with the backend being Wordpress. I love Wordpress and php but also love react and JavaScript. And would love to learn more about creating either standalone decoupled apps powered by wp or adding complimentary single app page applications to already existing websites. Anyway love your stuff and looking forwards to completing your wp course. Just realized you are about to release a JavaScript course, I signed up with my email on your site. Will definitely get it. Lol. I am only one man with one opinion, but I would love to see a tutorial for a React JS app powered by WP using the WP Rest API. 😊 Just because that an area where I don’t see to many tutorials. Maybe it’s not that popular yet it just the idea of it is too new. Anyway just wanted to give my feedback. In any case, I love your teaching style and courses. Thank you.
An idea for a great tutorial would be on how to create a React WordPress theme using: WP API with GraphQL, create-react-app, Redux and Bootstrap v4. That would be an amazing tutorial. A lot of people would be interested in learning how to do that.
Great videos! You explain your steps very clearly - I've learnt more in the past two hours than I thought possible :) I don't suppose you know how authentication from other domains work? All I can find online deals with XML-RPC, but it seems to have been around for awhile - nothing updated with the new REST API? Anyhow, thanks for the lessons :)
Hey, I not only echo the comments from my other youtube friends, but I say you could teach the instructors at Lynda.com as well.
