I first read Purpose Driven Life when I was 19 and in my first 28 day addiction rehab in Portland, OR! I’ve had a hell of a time staying clean/sober since then, seemingly losing the battle too often to the devil and dark forces. Totally sucks.
I was a member of a church and our beliefs is we are the only church will be saved when the judgment comes. I grew up in that church and most of the sermons since i was a kid is follow what our leaders says and attend the worship service 2 times a week and give your 2-3 types of donations/ offerings every worship service. When our great leader passed away the son took over the church and that’s the leadership got into scandals and corruption. They are very powerful in our country because we practice the block voting that’s why politicians are afraid of them because they are seeking for the support during the election from the church and you have 70% chance of winning the election. If you do then in return you can’t make a move or a make a law which can be affected our church and stay away or don’t say anything how our leaders runs the church. We are like a cult which is the highest leader tells you what you do and you should ask their permission if you want to work overseas. If the country or place that you intended to work at doesn’t have a church locale so you can’t work there. We do believe our Lord Jesus Christ is human in nature but He is not God but He is the son of God and our saviour. We don’t believe in trinity like the catholic belief. I was looking for a church or small group to enlighten my faith because my soul is completely lost. My wife and i found Pastor Rick since then our day is not complete without listening to him. Thank you so much and our God uses you to lead all the people who needs spiritual help. God bless you brother! 🙏
"Call to me and I will save you." What happens if you do that right before temptation and give into temptation anyway? What am I doing wrong? I've pleaded to God with all my heart as temptation arises and yet I still sin. I'm a new Christian so this is troubling.
Hey there Rick! I have a question... I really loved this sermon by the way!! So I have a question about what to do when a family member tempts you... sometimes my dad gets really competitive with me (whether it’s through cooking, exercising, etc) and I feel a lot of judgment coming from him towards me. I start to get tempted to do things that will bother him (which I know is not right) but it is a temptation. I feel very hurt by him sometimes... What can I do if a family member who I have to see everyday is unhealthy to be around and tempts me to act immaturely?
Same to me happen but it's my mother. It's really hard I know but sometimes we just have to allow God to work and not do anything that will harm the relationship. Better to keep silent and ask God's help and wisdom how to deal in such situations.
